Me and My Homie In Another World
Chapter 2- Definitely An Advantage

Chapter 2- Definitely An Advantage

What is that noise? Birds? And that smell. It’s like I’m outside all of a sudden. Oh yeah. It feels like I’m laying on some grass. An interesting change from the empty void of a God’s space. Opening my eyes I can see that I seem to be in some kind of forest. Daytime based on the lighting. Only after lying there for a moment do I realize I need to check for Javier. I stand up quickly and call out for him, “Javi! You there man!?”

“Yeah! I’m here! But where the fuck is here?” The sound comes from a short distance away and I rush over to it. He is sitting in a clearing looking unharmed. Thank goodness. “I believe this is another world.”

“Shit man, seriously?”

“Seriously.”

“Maaaaan. That’s like, totally awesome right!”

“Yeah it is! We’re in another fucking world!”

“Fuck yeah! But wait. Did we die?”

“Well, kinda. You died at least.” I explained to him my interaction with the so-called God. “So it seems like there is no going back for us and we will have to make the most of our life here.”

That sobered him up a bit. Despite his initial excitement he began to calm down. “Shit man. So our old lives are gone? What about my sister? Did you ask about her? How will she handle it? I was all she had left.”

“Sorry man, I didn’t ask. Kinda got caught up in the whole talking with God thing.”

“Yeah, yeah. Understandable. But there is nothing we can do to interact with Earth?”

“I don’t know. The transition sounded pretty final. Maybe if we could get on the same level as one of those supervisors we could move on a planetary scale.”

“Not a bad plan. We don’t really have anything else to go off of.” He stood up and started throwing some punches in the air. “So any idea how strong we are?”

“He at least said we won’t be powerless. So we must have some strength. You watch more of this type of stuff than I do. How do we figure it out?”

“Usually we can see our status or something. You gotta say something like STATUS or STATS! But neither of those worked. Maybe some type of analysis. Like ANALYZE! Woah!” After yelling out analyze he suddenly jumped back. Clearly something worked. “So can you see your stats?”

“No, I think I analyzed yours. Let me try this.” He holds up and looks intently at his arm. “ANALYZE! There we go. You try it too.”

I copy him and take a look at my arm. “ANALYZE!”

Name: Wren Johnson

Class: None

Strength: 30

Speed: 32

Durability: 24

Intelligence: 34

Charisma: 19

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

Luck: 41

Abilities: Analyze(A), Power of Friendship

Titles: Agent of Frantal

Reading through my stats I quickly realized something, “This is not that helpful. I don’t feel very different so I’m assuming this is just a numeric representation of our normal abilities. And without a frame of reference we can’t tell if they’re any good. You mind if I analyze you?”

“Go ahead. Not much to hide anyway.”

I look over at him much like he was looking at me the first time he used it. “ANALYZE!”

Name: Javier Hernandez

Class: None

Strength: 38

Speed: 33

Durability: 33

Intelligence: 21

Charisma: 37

Luck: 13

Abilities: Analyze(A), Power of Friendship

Titles: Agent of Frantal

Once again, not very helpful. “All in all we look roughly even. Your shit luck must be why you died and I didn’t.”

“Damn man, that hurts. But forget that, what is the Power of Friendship ability?”

“Hell if I know. How the hell would I know?”

“Maybe cause you’re the one who talked to the God, idiot.”

“Oooh. Let’s see you talk to a God and ask everything that needs to be asked. The man didn’t exactly seem to be the patient type.”

“Whatever.” He paused and looked at where I assume his analysis board is. “Do you think we could analyze other things? Like our abilities. Can we analyze the analysis board?”

“That’s a damn good idea. And here I thought I was supposed to be the smart one.” I focused on the words Power of Friendship that appeared before me. “ANALYZE!”

Power of Friendship: Call upon the power of your friend who you are sworn together with to grant you strength. The greater your friendship the greater the strength.

“Neat.” I could hear Javi also analyzing and reading. “Hey, check out the analysis skill next.”

“Aight, ANALYZE!”

Analyze: Analyzes a target’s capabilities. Can be used on objects, other creatures, yourself, abilities, titles, and classes. Can be activated by focusing your intent to use it. Does not need to be screamed like an idiot.

“Did this thing just insult me? It just insulted me. The damn skill is calling me an idiot! Did yours do that too?”

“What? No. It seemed pretty normal to me. Maybe it just doesn’t like you.”

“The fuck do you mean it doesn’t like me? It’s a skill. It doesn’t have sentience.”

“Maybe it does. You don’t know it isn’t sentient.”

“Oh yeah, well fuck you skill, you’re the real idiot.” I focused on it again. Not gonna bother to yell it out this time.

Analyze: Analyzes a target’s capabilities. Can be used on objects, other creatures, yourself, abilities, titles, and classes. Can be activated by focusing your intent to use it. Does not need to be screamed like an idiot. Fuck you.

“I would like to apologize.”

“Hahahaha!! Did it change after what you said?! That’s fucking hilarious!”

“Shut up! Let’s just analyze the rest of our shit.” I focused on my title.

Agent of Frantal: Sent to this planet by Frantal, supervisor of planets 37845, 57739, and 102336. Shall serve as his presence to alert other supervisors. You have no limit on the number of class changes you may perform.

Good information this time. “Huh. That’s the first actually helpful thing. I don’t know how this place works but I’m willing to bet that unlimited class changes is pretty good.” And any information on our benefactor is appreciated.

“Yeah, definitely an advantage. Though we can’t be sure how much of one it is just yet. We don’t even know how hard it is to get any class.”

“True, but I do know one thing.”

“What’s that?”

“I’m hungry as fuck. Let’s find our way out of this forest.”

“Agreed, let’s get the fuck out of here.”
