Looking the Ancient One observing his Command Spells with interest Jay rudely complained.
“Thank for the warning that you told right before it happen leaving me with nothing that I can do”
Facing his displeased expression the Ancient One shakes her head.
“What just happen couldn’t be avoid in all the possibility that I have saw, even with that right arm of your” she said while staring at his right arm where the Imagine Breaker resides.
Hearing her words Jay frowns further, it had been a few days since he got this power in his arm. With some testing he have been able to get a rough feeling of what it can do, just like in the original work of Index, his hand can negate almost all the magic that he can throw at it using his Gate of Babylon, it can even negate some stronger ones given enough time.
He also discovered that he can to a certain extent control what to negate but in the process he also found a weird force hidden in it. The feeling as if he was touching something real yet ethereal at the same time whatever it is, it’s power is definitely one of the strongest from those that he have feel even above Odin himself.
But feeling and using it was two different concepts though as the power seem to elude from his control as if a disobedient puppy and only giving him some basic ability to negate magic and superpower. This also raises the question of the origin of the system that gives this to him.
Shaking his head to disperse the random thought running wild, Jay returns his attention on the Ancient One.
“What did you came here for then?”
“Hmm, nothing much, just to see the man at the center of the storm that all”
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
Her words make Jay to have a headache, rubbing his temple to relieve some stress he point to Charlotte next to him.
“Can you at least take care of her for the time being?”
The Ancient One nod but Charlotte frowns question him.
“What will you do then?”
“I need some times to deal with the matter at hand, for now you should go with her for magic training and remember, don’t try and summon a Servant without me there, okay?”
Usually in the Fate universe the Master would be a magi with good ability and the knowledge of the summon and the danger that come with it, like in the case of Servant not obeying the Master or outright killing them or use them as puppet for their goal.
But this the Marvel world where those concept don’t apply, magi are rare existences except the Master of Mystic Arts ,so as a part of the world integration process brought to by the system some aspect have been overwrite and change to fit this world rule.
So when the Command Spell manifest on a suitable Master, the basic necessary knowledge of Holy Grail War, it’s rule and how to summon a Servant would automatically imprint itself into the Master mind and awaken their innate magic talent giving them some ability as a magi.
So in a sense it like giving a kid a gun with an instruction manual but you tear off the warning parts.
Not to mention according to what the system have inform him, this isn’t a typical Grail War but a Great grail War like in Fate/Apocrypha with 14 Servant participating due to the conflict arises from this world rules and the action of the system causing the Grail to be created much more powerful than usual and needing more soul as a result.
It was as if 7 Servant from various myth and legend wasn’t enough there now 7 more to add in on the fun creating more trouble for him.
Of course Charlotte didn’t agree to his proposition but after some persuasion he manages to convince for to go to the New York Sanctum with the Ancient One to learn to control magic. As much as he want to teach her himself ,when it comes to magic he a total idiot, he can use them as good as the original caster thank to his Alpha Stigma and have a good grasp on it mechanic but he can’t really explain it in words for others to understand.
So it better to let the thousand years old mage teach Charlotte about magic rather than the guy that just know to use some spell that stolen from other, the pair then parted with Charlotte leaving for Nepal.
Heading back home, feeling a bit lonely, Jay began to think on how to deal with the Holy Grail War that is to come.
