Before anything else, I would like to reintroduce myself. I am Sora Xertia, 16 years old, the 13th generation of Xertia bloodline, a bloodline famous all over the Underworld Magical Society. Even though my family is famous, I was branded as the "Failure Generation" by the whole Magical Society. Why "Failure Generation"? Xertia family is famous for producing a genius every generation. Each generation of Xertia family creates a breakthrough that surprises the Magical Society before reaching the age of 14, while I didn't do anything remarkable during these 16 years of my life, which disappointed the whole magician community.

The most remarkable of them is my Grandfather, Riswald Xertia, who invented another type of magic from the Darkness branch of elements, the Summoning Magic. The main concept of Summoning Magic is by using the 'Dark Matter' in the universe as the medium. 'Dark Matter' is a part of the Darkness element. By ripping the 'Dark Matter' found on Earth, with the  use of great amount of mana. you could open a way to another world without crossing the Boundary, which would be explained later.

Summoning requires imagination of the caster, the mana of the caster, and a Magical seal which makes the Summoned Being be identified as the Familiar of the Summoner. One Summoned Being is limited for each Summoner. The only one who could summon the Familiar is the Summoner only. If the Summoner dies an unnatural death, the familiar also dies.  In some circumstances, if the Summoned Being could assume human form, they could stay on Earth. By the way, my Mother was my Father's familiar. Her race is that of a Ninetailed Fox. I don't know why there isn't any trace of elegance found on a Ninetailed Fox on my Mother. Is she just a failure or what?

There are 8 element Division each Magician is divided into. These are Fire, Earth, Wood, Water, Metal, Air, Light and Darkness. All magicians could use all of these elements, yet most of them specialize in a certain element which compliment with their nature.

Oh.. My magical ability is limited to the usage of 'Dark Matter' of Darkness Element and unique magic, Time Magic. I couldn't use other spells from other elements and I also couldn't use most spells found in the Darkness Element like shadow manipulation, vanish, etc. and I couldn't open a rip to another world. I also didn't inherit my mother's Ninetailed Fox powers. I could only rely on using my raw mana on combat and all of what I discovered on spells of Time Magic. Are you asking why is there a need of combat prowess?

First to explain is the Boundary. Some people call it "Mirror World", "Parallel World", and so on and so forth. The truth is that this place is a detached plane from Earth. To reach this place, most of magicians cross the rainbow colored bridge called the "Bifrost" . It is covered with ancient magic that conceals it from ordinary eyes. A person from Earth could only pass through it by using mana to open its door out of thin air and permission from the Magical Society. Some magicians forces their way through the Boundary by creating their own bridges on unstable parts of Earth. These bridges are called "Wormholes".

Next is that if you are fond of reading magic-themed novels and stuff, most of those thing really happen on our society. There are Good Magicians and Evil Magicians. Battles between them are carried out on the Boundary. Earth has a barrier which is made by first magic practicioners to secure the safety of ordinary people. The only time when it would be destroyed is by killing all of 8 Major Element Gods of the Magical Society, which is the goal of every Evil Magician. The disadvantage of the Leaders is that they could not enter Earth since they stand as pillars of the barrier, which forced them to create the Magical Society inside the Boundary.

There are also two types on how to obtain magic. It is by Inheriting and by Acquiring. Inheriting is by way of inheriting the powers of your parents, or by a person who has Magic. Most of them are from the main and branch families of those who were blessed by Elemental Gods and Goddesses. A little of this fraction is from ordinary people who are given by magicians a part of their power. The other way is by acquiring it. It is acquiring magic by use of contracts, most probably with Devils or the Fallen Gods. Some of Acquired Magicians creates a contract with Fallen Gods who wants to reclaim their status by using  Magicians for their own purpose, but most of the Acquired Magicians made a contract with Devils which makes them offer a sacrifice before obtaining Magic. These Devils gives them trials to obtain magic without a sacrifice but most of the time people who takes them fails. Sacrifices are always something valuable to the contractor.

Well, even though I am a magician, I don't necessarily involve myself towards the Magical Society. Well, I don't want my peaceful days be destroyed by those people. Maybe it may break their expectation towards me, but I dont care. I practice magic for my own security and the people around me, nothing else. But I have a debt to be paid towards MIDAS that I need to repay so I aid them with my own powers.

MIDAS, also known as Magical Institute for Disposal of Alien Substance, is known for preventing Alien Substance from another world to create a chaos towards Non-Magician Inhabitants of Earth. They fight these otherworldly creatures on the Boundary between world before they reach Earth. Since these creatures have high concentration of mana throughout their bodies, they could create rifts that gives them a way to reach Earth without passing through "Bifrost". Before they create such rifts, MIDAS dispatch magicians to prevent these things to happen. Most of the subdued creatures are carried back to their own worlds, but some of them are killed for their violent behavior.  There is a circumstance that made me indebt with MIDAS that I can't refuse their request of help in case of emergency.

I kept it as a secret from Akane since we have an ancient creed, made by the first magicians, to never expose our powers towards ordinary people. Exposure of powers may lead to divine retribution which is death of the magician and the ordinary person... Just joking. The punishment is just by erasing the memories of the ordinary person or if its an opposite sex, its by making that person your betrothed.

Complicated right? This is why I don't bother to associate myself with anything  which regards to magic. Well, just think that I'm an ordinary person being dragged around by my childhood friend because of her obsessiveness towards magic yet to reveal that I'm one of those magicians she was looking for. Hilarious right? Well, let's end this farce and resume the story.
