After a long walk, the girls finally arrived at their home. Nothing more was spoken about that strange lady and her companion. They were so tired, they couldn’t wait to hit their bed. It was a dreamless night for all of them.

Thorn was the first one to wake up and be ready to go to school. Leaf was the second one, yawning and shaking Berry to wake up as well. Berry was the latest, getting up surprised and disheveled.

-I’m still tired…-

She rubbed her eyes and then got up to go to the bathroom, where she washed her face using a little bucket of water.

Thorn approached the room; she was fixing her dress, almost one hundred percent ready.

-Morning, sleepyheads.-

Leaf stretched.

-How are you not tired from yesterday?-

Despite washing her face, Berry had returned to her bed, slowly wrapping herself in the blankets.

-Five more minutes please…-

Thorn shook her head smiling.

-I just had to do something. As a call to peace, for what happened yesterday. I maaaadeee pancaaakeees!-

Berry quickly got up, forgetting her tiredness, to hug her sister.

-You didn’t have to! You know we’re good already!-

Leaf cleaned her eyeglasses and put them on.

-Well… I can’t say no to a pancake.-

Thorn smiled and hugged Berry back, petting her head.

-Of course. Come on, go and have some breakfast. I already ate so I’ll get everything ready for you two, okay?-

Berry smiled.

-Alright-

She walked towards the living room. Leaf looked at her older sister.

-Are you sure you’re okay, Thorn?-

-Yeah! Why wouldn’t I be?-

Leaf shook her head.

-I dunno… Just wanted to make sure.-

She smiled at her sister, then got up and went to the living room.

Thorn smiled back at her until no one else was in the bedroom. Once she was alone, she let out a heavy sigh.

-I’m so tired.-

She finished fixing up her hair and dress, to then spend a moment doing some breathing exercises. Afterward, she went down to the living room as well.

Once Thorn got there, she saw both of her sisters calmly eating. Leaf seemed to be reading her notes, while Berry was writing something in a makeshift notebook. It was strange for Berry to be doing schoolwork or any kind of work so early in the morning. Thorn curiously approached her sisters.

-What are you doing…?-

Leaf was the first to respond.

I’m just studying yesterday’s lessons. Just in case they test us on it.-

Berry finished scribbling on her paper and then responded.

-I’m writing everything that happened yesterday in a diary! I figured since we feel so lost in the world of magic… Maybe we can write down our experience! So you know, other people don’t have to be as lost as us!-

Leaf glanced at Berry, shocked.

-Wow… Berry… that’s… actually pretty smart and kind of you.-

Berry genuinely smiled at Leaf’s compliment.

-Thank you!-

Thorn displayed a proud smile and then kissed Berry’s forehead and mussed her hair.

Berry lifted her notebook, showing it to her sisters. It displayed a very rudimentary and amateur drawing made with flower pigments. It was as if a small child had made it.

-Do you think my drawing looks like yesterday’s witch lady? I tried to capture her eyes… I think I outdid myself!-

Leaf almost spat her drink from laughter after seeing the drawing. Thorn lightly hit her leg under the table before she could.

-That’s great, Berry! You’re a natural!-

Berry smiled to herself and then continued drawing.

The girls finished having breakfast and then went to school. Every day they got up early, gathered everything they needed, and then went to school. They never missed a day. Before they could notice, they were already used to this morning routine.
