The Wandering Spook, case 1

The Wandering Spook, case 1

On the way towards Charité, the best Klinik of Germany, Weiss is getting worse by time. At first she seems still energetic, over alerted, she keeps questioning Kevi, about the attack, the four fake police, why do they come after her, and what does the crescent pendant stands for. Is it a tottem of a secret organization? Or some smuggled artifact?

"Please, Miss, it's not the time," Kevi keeps focus on her driving, and drags her distracted mind back, "Let's......talk about it later, all right? Honesty I don't quite know what's going on myself, but......"

Weiss shuts up. Her voice becomes like self-murmuring.

"Where are we going?" she asks.

"Charité, "Kevi says. Now she sees two police cars pass by on the opposite, "About 2 kilos away left."

"I'm not injured. I want to go home."

"Yes you are, Miss. You are just survived from a severe car crash. The wounds doesn't have to be on the surface. You gotta need a check."

"I feel OK, thanks......I'm only a bit tired, a bit......sleepy," Weiss leans her head by the door window, her eyelids are casting down, "Tell me when we are arrived."

"No, NO! Don't fall asleep!" Kevi turns to her, "Listen to me, Weiss! Keep awake! Damn it!"

As she touches Weiss, she feels the seat under her body is wet, with thick blood wiped on her finger.

Weiss' breathe is fading. She must be in a deep coma caused by blood losing of internal organ. She will die in 10 minutes without help.

"Stay with me, Weiss! We are arrived now!"

Kevi drives the car at the highest speed, much higher than the main street limit. More and more police appears on the street, come and go, no one pays any attention on this speeding car. Kevi feels frustrated, she'd rather being captured now and get Weiss a quick first-aid, but seems like the police ignores them deliberately.

Or......the police has an even worse situation.

Kevi's thought has been confirmed by the time she approaches the Charité Klinik. She never has a moment to see so many police cars gathering together. Beside the gate of the Klinik, ambulances continues arriving, and casualties are raised at stretcher by the medical staffs.

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

Kevi stops the car, supports Weiss on her arms and walks to the police.

"Help......help me, sir!" she cries out, "My sister.....has a car accident! She'd badly wounded and lost her consciousness! Please help her!"

One police comes at her aid, calls the rest of his colleges and medical staffs to give hands. They put Weiss on a stretcher, moves to the Klinik.

"No, Miss, stop by the elevator," the police gives Kevi a "stop" gesture, "Wait at lobby please."

"Why? I'm her sister. Don't I have the right to stay with her?"

"Miss, Miss," the police says, "I promise she will get good cared. This is Charité after all, right?"

Kevi takes a quick glance at the lobby. Dozens of people stays there. Medical staffs walking around, taking care of those police who are injured in a lighter degree. Out side the gate, Klinik guards and police officers are holding a defence line against medias, pushing journalists, photographers and some Blink or Youtube bloggers back.

"What happens there, sir?" Kevi asks, "Why did so many police get injured?"

"I'm not allowed to tell, Miss." the police shakes head, "Tomorrow you will get the news."

"Sir, people around me are very scared......"

"Things are under our control, Miss, that's all I can tell. Go and have rest at the lobby, and waiting for your sister. Otherwise I have to let you out. DO you understand?"

He looks so grave and serious, hardly believed to be joking. Thus Kevi has to shut her mouth and leave to the lobby.

"I'm not the one doing this......" she whispers inwardly, looking around the casualties, "I don't cause such amount of damages."

She must have the answer, with or without permission. Since ordinary police staffs are forbidden to talk, she need to find someone in charge.

She releases a long breathe, stands up and walks through the casualties to the gate.

"Officer?" she reaches out to a sheriff-like man, who stands by the door, and orders medias to back up, "May I have a talk with you?"

The sheriff glimpses at her and ignores.

"My name is Auga Grinta, U.S.S.A agent." Kevi hands in her pack and shows him the agent card---fake of course, "I need to talk."

"What.....they send a trainee here?" sheriff checks the card, yells out, "No wonder why they sucks at intelligence!"

"I'm on behalf of Agent Nemo Wedenheim, do you know him?" Kevi says, "He's in the HQ now, need time to reach here. I'm his secretary, and I'm here to get some first-hand, if you know something."

Hearing Nemo's name, the sheriff looks around, drags her to a corner away from medias. He lowers his sound.

"OK, listen up, secretary of Wedenheim. You go and tell him, call the SWAT here, immediately! That's all, cuz we here cannot suffer the lost anymore!"

"Who did this?" Kevi asks, "Is that gunshot? In an apartment called Rosenmeer?"

"What are you talking about? No! Its' the D37 relief station! My men are just......slaughtered like animals!'

"Easy, easy. Is it a terrorist group?"

The sheriff let off a strange laugh.

"A group? No no no, it's a fucking person! Can you believe that? A single person, killed 7 of our best crews, beat all of our men in three vehicles into hospital!"

"One? Are you sure? It's gonna be......really shocking."

"Believed it or not," the sheriff leaves his last words, "This sucker is the worst one I've ever seen in my 20 years career, I'm telling no joke. Acknowledge Wedenheim the details, and tell him to bring his best men here, best of the best! Now you can tell him like that!"
