Chapter 7 - Annihilation

Chapter 7 - Annihilation

“Thank you very much.” Orion opened the store and immediately noticed that the exp counter had indeed gone from 0 to 12000. He opened the skill tab and saw that the level 1 and 2 skills were now listed as free. Since they were sorted by price, Orion scrolled all the way down to the most expensive, which was called ‘level 2 Telekinesis’. This skill allowed the user to apply up to 300 kilos of telekinetic force with a maximum range of 300 meters. Orion’s eyes almost popped out of his head as he read the skill’s description. Thanks to his new intelligence, he could actually use around 380 kg of force with a range of 380 meters. His zone was a roughly square shape with one side being around two km, so he could cover over 1/7th of the zone’s length with this skill. Additionally, 300kg was far more force than he could exert with his new body. Hesitant to make his choice without checking the other options, he scrolled down a little and found some decent skills, but none that came close. The closest thing was a skill that let him teleport in a range of 30 meters with a cooldown of 5 minutes. It was a great skill for surprise attacks, but it was undoubtedly weaker than the telekinesis skill.

“Yo, system, how is such a powerful skill considered low-level?”

[Well, the highest level of telekinesis skill available in the shop gives you a decillion kg of strength, and a range of a million light years. The highest level of cultivation is something that you can’t even begin to fathom right now.]

“Wow. Well, thanks.” With no further hesitation, Orion selected that skill and the prices went back to normal. He scrolled down a little and purchased the ‘level 1 Fireball’ skill, once more placing his exp count at 0. After all that, he put his skill points into luck again. He opened his character page again to see the updates.

Orion’s eyes almost popped out of his head. The quest was hard, yes, but the rewards were absolutely insane.

“Hey, system, I remember you mentioned lifespan a couple of times, can you please explain that? Also, how much money does the king have?”

[Oh right. Well, mortals don’t have a clearly defined lifespan, so this only applies to cultivators. Level 1 cultivators have a lifespan of 100 years, at the end of which they will die, no matter how healthy. Of course, they can still die before but they WILL die then if they’re still alive. Like cultivation, lifespan doubles, then triples and so on. At level 10, you achieve immortality and can only die if you’re killed. By the way, your appearance changes slower depending on your lifespan, so if you see a thirty year old at level 4, they may actually be 800. As for the king, he has about 70 billion gold coins.”

As he walked to the pleasure district, he could see that the number of guards had increased massively. There was now one guard for every two establishments, making slaughter impossible here unless he found a way to either ignore or dispose of the guards. Of course, he could always move over to the slums and easily kill everyone there, but those people had raised and taken care of him, so he felt very hesitant to do that. He entered the bar just before noon and saw that Ren was already there, waiting for him. He made his way over and tapped him on the shoulder.

“Ah, you’re here! Please come with me. By the way, the cloak is a good idea if you’re going to be doing things that attract attention, so i would recommend always keeping it on and the hood up.” Ren got up and started walking towards the exit of the bar. Orion quickly caught up and followed him outside.

“So, where are we going?”

“The managers of the underground company that set up this fight told me to bring you to a certain brothel, and that they would handle it from there.” In less than minute, Ren stopped and waved his arm. “Here we are, the Tantalising Lily. Please go inside and look for a woman with a yellow armband. When you see her, tell her ‘the arrow has left the quiver’. Good luck.”

He opened the door and was greeted by the sight of dozens of incredibly beautiful women with clothes so revealing they may as well be naked. A short brunette walked up to him, pressed herself against him and looked seductively in his eyes.

“Care to go on a ride, sweetheart?” The combination of her luxurious voice, otherworldly looks and the fact that Orion was 16 made the offer tempting, but he was forced to decline.

“I’m okay, but thank you.” He moved the offended woman to the side and scanned the room for a lady with a yellow armband and quickly found her. She was a blonde of around 160 cm whose beauty transcended the woman’s from earlier and almost reached Leina’s heights. He approached her and repeated Ren’s code. She eyed him up and down like a piece of candy.

“Well, I sure would like to take your arrow out of it quiver.” She moaned in his ear and ran her hand across his crotch. He couldn’t help but widen his eyes in shock and stiffen up. She withdrew her hand and turned around with a wink, motioning for him to follow her with a coy smile. She walked away as a slack-jawed Orion quickly followed. She led him towards the main office, so he assumed that this lady was the manager. She lifted a painting from the wall and typed in a code, not letting him see what it was. Suddenly, the back wall ground down, revealing a large room with an 8 by 8 meter sandpit in the middle. The room was full of spectators, around 30 people, a few of which seemed to be workers in this establishment. Orion walked over to the ring and stood to one side. He was assailed with boos and even one banana peel, which he caught and threw back to the attacker with quadruple the force, smacking the man in the forehead. Clearly, either his opponent was very popular or these people really didn’t welcome newcomers. After about 30 seconds of this, the crowd quieted down as a door opened in the back wall and a massive figure entered. It was a heavily muscled 190 cm man with a level 1.3 cultivation. When he entered the room, the crowd erupted in cheers as his opponent walked over to face Orion. The man looked at him impassively and said in a matter-of-fact way:

“I’m gonna fucking kill you.” His voice was gravelly and suited his appearance, but did nothing to intimidate Orion, who knew this fight was entirely guaranteed to go his way. Suddenly, a loud voice boomed out to announce the fight.

“Dear spectators and of course, competitors, welcome to today’s Underground Arena match!!” Cheers erupted around the room as excitement filled the air. “Remember, there are no rules other than no weapons, and surrender won’t necessarily spare your life! Now, please enjoy today’s match: Orion vs Lius!!!!” The crows once more cheered, even more loudly than before. Lius was apparently very popular. “Are you ready? BEGIN!!!”

Lius immediately released his aura and dashed at Orion, who simply stood there with his hands behind his back. Even as Lius was only a few centimetres away, he didn’t move, letting the titanic man unleash a powerful punch straight to his stomach. Orion didn’t even need to reinforce himself with aura to tank a punch at this level. As the fist connected, a mighty shockwave erupted, cauing the nearest spectators to almost fall over and sand to be blown out everywhere. When everything settled, the audience was silent in shock as they saw the mighty Lius nursing his injured fist and little Orion still standing. For the first time, Orion moved, casually walked towards the snarling Lius.

Lius straightened, expressionless. In response to this stoic display, Orion simply unleashed his aura. Lius’s face paled as he realized what he had gotten into. The audience, too, was mostly mortal and they began trembling like leaves, barely able to stand, whilst the weaker-willed ones fell down under Orion’s pressure. Two people even fainted. As Orion got closer and closer, Lius began frantically backing up until he tripped and fell on his ass. He continued crawling backwards until the reacher the edge of the sandpit. Orion still calmly walked towards him, having done nothing except unleash his aura. As he neared him, Lius’s teeth had begun chattering, as he felt his impending doom. He sensed an almighty force pulling him up and holding him in place, lightly spreading his legs. In two seconds, Orion stood less than 10 cm away, his opponent unable to make the smallest motion. Orion summoned his fireball and leaned into Lius’s ear.

“So, you’re gonna kill me, huh?” Unable to speak, Lius only darted his eyes from side to side. Orion slowly began lowering his flaming hand until it stood just a few centimetres away from the poor man’’s crotch. “I’m gonna release your mouth. You’re gonna call me big daddy Orion, or else i will grill your balls. Got it? Good.” Orion released the man’s mouth.

“Big daddy Orion, big daddy Orion, please don’t hurt your little slave!”

“Very good!” Suddenly, Orion brought the fire forwards and set the man’s jewels on fire. Lius began screaming like a banshee, but since he was unable to move his body, the scene was actually quite comical.

“Bu-but you s-s-said you wouldn’t do it!” Sobbed the poor man, on the verge of collapse.

“Yes, well, I lied.” The combination of pain and humiliation was too much Lius, causing him to faint. Orion waved his hand and the fire was extinguished. He pulled back his hand and punch out with all his might, reinforcing his fist. His fist embedded itself in the mans guts, almost coming out the other side, and Orion’s aura shredded his insides. As he removed his fist, massive amounts of blood and destroyed organs poured out of the gaping hole, painting a gruesome and disgusting scene. The crowd was completely silent as Orion walked back to his original spot and once more crossed his hands behind his back, withdrawing his aura. He felt a surge of energy, telling him he had broken through to level 2.1. Of course, he could have done all that without moving a muscle with his telekinesis skill, but he wanted a thorough show of power. After a few more seconds of deathly silence, the host stuttered out the end of the fight.
