Chapter-12 Twice as much testosterone

Day 1 2:10

“Are you done?” John looked down at Charps’ obvious act knowing that he was completely fine. Still, it had been the funniest thing to happen all day and couldn’t stop himself from chuckling at the performance. Now wasn’t the time for jokes he needed to take his half of the team to lunch so he offered a hand to his fallen friend.

“Yeah, I’m done.” Charps took his hand and used it to help pull himself off the tile floor. “Your sister is scary man.”

“Yeah, she is. You might not want to tell her that though.” John saw Grace approaching from behind Charps so he backed up to get out of her way.

“What the Hell was that Charp, can’t handle your own shit?” Grace came at him from behind fury radiating off her like odor off a sunk.

Charps turned fast and stepped back to create space between himself and John’s raging sister. “No, I just didn’t wanna have to deal with her. I couldn’t exactly threaten to fight her like you just did. Thanks for that by the way.”

Grace snorted at the response and continued the attack. “So, you’re scared to fight a girl now.”

Charps took the taunting jeer on the chin, “Absolutely terrified.”

“Good, you should be.” Grace turned and stormed off through the crowd of spectators as she headed or the cafeteria.

“Grace,” John called after her before she could get out of earshot. “go ahead and take all of your girls down there with you, I’ll be going too once I get all of the B and C team rounded up.”]

“I don’t need a bodyguard, I can take care of myself.” Grace stopped pushing people out of the way to look at John.

“I know you don’t and didn’t say you needed one.” John walked towards Grace and spoke in a much calmer tone now that he didn’t need to shout to be heard. “You are the captain of the girl’s team. It is your responsibility to take care of them, go find them so they can eat lunch.”

“They don’t need help either.” Grace must have taken the comment about her teammates as an insult to her coaching and leadership skills because she only got more angry. “Why are you always like this, girls aren’t so weak you know.”

John gently placed his hand on Grace’s shoulder. “I don’t believe that you are. Grace, you have twice as much testosterone as most of the guys in here and could easily beat the shit out of 90% of the school. 3 of the 8 other girls on the team are freshmen and you’re the only one that beat anyone on the Varsity. It’s your job to take care of them so go will them so they can eat lunch.”

“Fine, I’ll take them but you better know I’m still mad at you.” Grace turned and looked at one of the female wrestlers that had joined the crowd of spectators. “Ellie go find the girls moving desks and meet me back here.”

John watched as his sister walked down the locker hallway toward where the makeshift barricade was being built before he realized that he was surrounded by a crowd of onlookers. A decent chunk were wrestlers, but most were random students with nothing better to do but watch the drama unfold. “If you’re not on the wrestling team then you’ve got no business being here. Move along.”

The crowd dispersed rather quickly now that the juicy bits were over and they were being called out. Now all that was left was for John to get the teams together so they could eat lunch but first, he needed a way to keep track of everyone. “Charp do me a favor and go get all the white athletic tape out of the cabinet that you can. You two, you’re on C team right? Go through the door in the back of the lockers into the offices, second door on the left is Coach Allska’s room. There’ll be a bunch of boxes full of clothing, bring all the hoodies you can carry. If Patty asks what your doing, tell him I wanted to play dress up.”
