Day 1 2:00 pm
Katie was proud to be the perfect student. She had As in all her class and was always respectful and helpful to the teachers even if they seemed to be annoyed by her presence. She wouldn’t tolerate bullying and would be sure to always report it to the proper authorities even if everyone involved said they were friends and were playing around. In her mind, there was no such thing as friendly roughhousing.
Aliens had abducted the school without taking along any adults meaning it was up to her to enforce discipline on the school. Today had been strange and confusing but that only meant she needed to try harder otherwise everything would fall apart and that couldn’t be allowed to happen.
When she saw the crowd forming at the back of the 400 hall she knew from her years of enforcing moral good that someone was breaking the rules. That was unacceptable and they had to be stopped.
As approached Katie saw was the cause of the commotion was. A dozen assorted students watched as a large group of mostly males carried tables and desks out of nearby classrooms and down the hall between the locker rooms and the gym. Katie had never been down because there simply wasn’t anything important nor had she ever had any reason to.
“Hey, put those down.” She raised her voice to make her presents known as she cut through the crowd of on looking students. A few turned to look at her but none of them seemed to be bothered by her commands, so she stepped in front of a boy carrying a desk who lead a group of 4 others. “These are school property, you can’t take them, put them back right now.”
The boy leading the group paused and unsure of what to do next put the desk down. “What’s wrong?”
“These belong to the school you can’t take them.” This was going well. All that was left to do was get them to put the desks they stole back into their classrooms. She could do it herself but it would be easier if she could the troublemakers to fix their own mess.
“Yeah, I don’t care through. Come on guys let’s go.” The boy’s active disregard for the rules infuriated Katie. He attempted to pick the desk up again but she slammed her hands down on top of it causing him to drop it.
“NO! These belong to the school. Put them back.” How could some be so disrespectful to her and the school rules she was trying to enforce?
The boy sighed heavily while rolling his eyes, there simply was no end to his insolence. He looked at her for a moment before looking past her and to call down the hall. “Hey, Charps. This bitch wants to talk to you.”
A large black senior at the end of the turned away from directing other kids holding desks and started walking their way. Katie couldn’t believe the disrespect and nerve this kid was showing her. She was a respectable member of the school, not some dog, at least now she was able to talk to the person in charge. Maybe they would understand why stealing from the school was wrong.
“Is there a problem?” As he approached Katie realized just how big he was. His bulk was enormous and 3 of her could probably fit inside of this Charps person. Still, she was not afraid of him, she was the one following the rule while he was the one breaking them.

“You can’t take desks out of the classrooms that’s stealing and it is against school rules.” She spoke back defiantly even as he towered over her.
“Patter told me to so that’s what I’m going to do.” Charps spoke in a dumbfounded tone. He was clearly just as dumb as the previous kid but at least he wasn’t so rude. Still, this conversation wasn’t going to get her anywhere.
“Where is this Patter then? I want to talk to him.” If the people at the bottom were going to be so rude and disrespectful then she was just going to have to talk to the person in charge.
“He’s right in there.” Charps moved to the side so she could see then pointed at the left door second to last.
“I can’t go in there that’s a male locker room.” How could someone be so incredibly stupid? Even if it wasn’t against all of the rules Katie had absolutely no desire to go to into such a disgusting place.
“Then you’re just going to have to wait for him to come out then.” Charps stopped talking to her despite the conversation clearly not being over yet and walked toward the original kid she had stopped. Then picked up the desk one handed while addressing him. “I’ve got this one, go get another one.”
He then turned and walked by her as if she wasn’t there. It was one thing to call someone names, it was another to completely disregard their existence and Katie would not stand for it. She reached out and grabbed the boy by his elbow which was probably thicker than he thigh. “Don’t you wal—”
“Aaaaahhaaaa, she’s attacking me” Her attempt to regain his attention was suddenly cut off by a loud girlish from the much larger student. He dropped the desk which he had been carrying with ease and sprawled out onto the floor before crawling backward terrified.
Katie and the large crowd that had gathered to watch their interaction looked at him in confusion. From a mere glance, everyone could tell that Katie didn’t even weigh half of what Charps did, it should have been physically impossible for her to have actually hurt him.
To add to the confusion a white girl with long blonde hair wearing wrestling sweats stormed out of the men’s locker just behind Charps. She was clearly mad about something but stopped to look at the strange scene unfolding her. Charps continued the act of being attacked and ran behind her.
“You’ve got to help me, Grace. She’s going to kill me.” Charps kept the frightening tone as he hid behind the much smaller girl.
Everyone outside of the wrestling watched on in confusion. The events that the much large Charps described were simply impossible but the lie was too sudden and blatant for them to call him on.
Grace moved forward in a fighting posture leaving Charps behind her. “What the hell did you do to my teammate.”
“Nothing I hardly even touched him.” Katie said defensively, she knew she did nothing wrong but hadn’t yet realized it was an act. This was all going wrong all she had wanted was to protect school property but now it was looking like she was going to fight someone and that was the last thing she wanted. “Please, I don’t want a fight.”
“Then you better get out of here while you can still walk. All the guys on the team are to scared to fight a girl but I’ve got no problem with it.” Grace put her hand up in front of her and kept approaching. Katie knew that if she didn’t back down now then a fight was inevitable, that was the worst thing that could happen. She had never been in a fight before and doubted that she could win but more importantly, fighting would ruin the good reputation she had worked so hard to build.
“I, I didn’t, I’m sorry, I’ll be going now.” Katie turned and ran back through the crowd desperate to get away before the other girl attacked. She was so confused about what had happened but she did know some things, she wasn’t going to be able to rely on the authority from the teachers anymore. Second was that all the precious rules she had known and loved were dead. And lastly, she was going to need help if she still wanted to enforce basic decency on this school.
