When you confirmed to bring up the Classes, you expected to see, well, Classes.
Instead, you’re shown this:
Available worlds [3/3]
Worlds have been randomly selected.
World [slot 1]:
Anatoia
World [slot 2]:
Locry
World [slot 3]:
Nïr
You observe the screen, confused. Surely, worlds are not Classes, you think. Well, not surely, but probably worlds are not Classes. With just a little bit of experimentation, you figure out that you can open each world in its own window.
You arrange them in front of you, side by side.
Anatoia [World]
The skyworld of Anatoia features the Endless Sky, a realm where solid ground is as inexistent as borders. Still, even in the skyworld, true freedom must be earned...
Difficulty:
high
Available Classes [3/3]
Feathor [Class, available]
Cost:
free
These bird-like creatures make their nests on flotsam drifting in the Endless Sky. Once they fully mature and fulfil the requirements, they can evolve to powerful Feathra.
Luftikus [Class, requires level 2]
Cost:
10 SP
The Luftikus are more air than physical entity and sustain themselves by devouring living things that come into their reach. The more life they have absorbed, the stronger they become.
Stolen content warning: this tale belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences elsewhere.
Celeborn [Class, requires Level 5]
Cost:
150 SP
Said to be "m-air-maids", the Celeborn are the masters of Skyworld. They can swim through air as if it were water, using their powerful tails to propel themselves forward at great speeds.
Locry [World]
On Locry, Magic is the common currency. It is found everywhere and must be harvested, consumed and traded in order to advance in life. Wield it well and prosper; lack it and suffer.
Difficulty:
medium
Available Classes [2/2]
Human [Class, available]
Cost:
free
Lacking inborn access to Magic, humans must find a way to collect Magic through professions. Once enough Magic is collected, powerful and varied Class evolutions become available.
Starelf [Class, requires level 2]
Cost:
50 SP
Constantly drawing Magic from the stars, the Starelf is able to advance naturally. With mounting power, you may start the unravel the secrets of the astral.
Nïr [World]
In the varied society of Nïr, you will encounter noblemen and fair maidens, as well as thieves and robbers and worse. Can you make your luck?
Difficulty:
medium
Available Classes [2/2]
Peasant [Class, available]
Cost:
free
You were born with nothing. Can you rise through the ranks and become someone of note?
Prince [Class, requires level 4]
Cost:
200 SP
You are the heir to the kingdom.
What kind of ruler will you be?
You study the descriptions until you almost know them by heart. They are not created alike; they feel to you almost as if written by different people. Or maybe based on different rulebooks.
Another thing bothers you: None of these worlds is ranked "beginner-friendly", or "easy", or something equally inviting. The choice is between "medium" and "hard", which is no choice at all. You're not about to take any chances with this, so really, the only choice you're considering is between "medium" and "medium".
This gives you the options of being a human on Locry, or a peasant on Nïr. You don't meet the level requirement for the other classes, not to mention not being able to afford the cost. You don't know what SP is yet, but what the System readily tells you is that you have exactly zero.
You give a mental shrug.
[Notification]
Please note that you can only access each world once, and you cannot change your Class once you enter the world.
