Clutching the cabbage to your chest, you get to your feet slowly. This is not what you thought would happen. Looking at the greenery more closely now, you realize that this is not the same plant that you had been looking at before.

Here, the only thing underground are the roots; there's no bulbous payload buried in the soil. Also, the above-ground leaves are lighter in colour, and more round where the others had been long. And of course, above the ground in this plant is the actual cabbage that you grabbed.

You peel back the outer layers of leaves, and then you tear off a chunky piece of the cabbage and shove it in your mouth. You chew.

You didn't expect it to taste like much of anything, and yet, this tastes worse. So. Much. Worse. Your body instinctually fights the unpleasant taste, retching up the drags you're trying hard to swallow. In this battle, your body wins, and you throw up the pieces of cabbage along with anything else you may have had in your stomach.

You heave, standing bent with your hands on your knees, and wait for the overwhelming nausea to pass. Breathe in. Breathe out. Ignore the putrid taste in your mouth; half raw cabbage, half bile. Your body forces you into another heave. Ignore it harder!

When the compulsion finally weakens, you pointedly avoid looking back at the source of your misery, the discarded head of cabbage with a bite-sized hole. Clearly, this is not going to be your breakfast. Instead, you study the still-open notification with your System eyes. What does "Harvesting [Cabbage, common] has granted you 1 Mana" mean, exactly? Also, you leveled up from completing the [Choose A Class] quest. There should be a character screen of some sort.

And sure enough, you've barely had the thought when it presents itself to your System sight. You read:
