Apologizing numerous times, the woman in front of R was bowing each time she was saying sorry. Her big breast was swaying up down as she bow in a speedy manner. R can’t help it can he, he was a full fledge man and seeing those kind of thing really does excite him. Putting that matter aside, the woman in front of him was the guild head of this adventure guild’s branch. To be more precise, she is the only one who is working in this secluded place.
For a NPC, she was quite an attractive one, with her tan healthy skin plus with her natural native beauty, she was truly one of the beautiful people R has met. Her wavy curly jet black hair heightens the beauty of her overall appearance. The NPC name was Ailani. After taking her hit head on, R presumes that the level of Ailani was quite high. He was on the verge of dying after receiving her hit, thankful to the medicine brewer across the road he was then given a health potion for him to escape death.
Currently the situation was she is feeling guilty about hitting a new wanderer. Yes the term wanderer was used to refer the player of the game by the original inhabitants of this world. To be exact, R was also the only wanderer who begins his adventure here.
If R makes prior research before entering the game he would have found multiple suggestion and recommendation from the game site forum hinting the best beginner town for newbies. But for R he doesn’t want to bother himself by doing tedious work, he would rather just dive in and wing it.
So that itself proved to be precious for the lone guild head of Kolo Island. Seeing the advantages that he currently has right now, he then start to work up his plan to squeeze everything he can from the NPC who try to kill him on his first day.
‘sob sob sob sorry wanderer please don’t leave this place I promise I wont do it anymore’

So even she knows that this place needs a few users, interesting. Since im the only one what should I do with her hmm
Rubbing his chin, R starts to initiate his plan of action.
‘let see I don’t think this town is a good place for me’
‘Eh, no you don’t know that, we have lots quest and fun things over here such as—‘

‘you thought an innocent new wanderer want to rape you or something’

For one thing, NPC doesn’t really know that I cant transfer to other town as I like plus with her current condition I think I can get what I want right now hehe
‘anything I want huh, so do you have any budget allocation for new wanderer?’
‘mmm I don’t understand’
R certainly has zero tolerance with handling these kinds of people but well he still need to rip what he can.
‘what I meant was do the main adventurers guild give you any money?’
‘ouh money yeah they do’
‘how much did they give?’
‘umm 1 gold per month’
‘is that a lot?’
‘yup very’
‘Can you give it to me?’
‘why?’
‘didn’t you said that you would do anything or should I leave right now’
‘ohh please don’t do that here you can take it’
Handing him one coin of gold, R gladly accept it.

She smiles as she was excited to help a new wanderer to begin his adventure. But R on the other hand was still finding opportunities to gain from this poor cute NPC.
Sitting on a chair facing Ailani, she then start to explains the basic explanation design to her coding program. Listening to her attentively, Ailani starts with how wanderers are not allowed to leave town in a one month game duration. So in other word, R will be staying in this town for 6 days in the real world. The second thing that caught his ears beside the rubbish she was saying was the town gives out many quest for the new wanderers to do and explore while being confined in this town. The third and most important thing was he was brief on class changes, for easy class change he can change it at the adventurer’s guild but that only applied to the three most basic class in the game that is warrior, magician and archer.
After hearing her long speech came to an end, R then receives a pop up window.
Quest Completed: Beginner’s guide by Ailani
The first quest for those new in the game of virtual reality. Learn from the NPC regarding the basic information, the do’s and don’t plus an extra information regarding class change for further enjoyment in gameplay.
Reward:
Gain 10 exp, gain 5 copper coins, gain a random reward from Ailani
Surprised by finishing a quest, it was something unexpected but still the benefit of the quest was quite good. Checking out his inventory, it was still at the same amount of 1 gold coin.
Staring at Ailani, R then asks her with a serious tone.
‘Ailani, where is my 5 copper coin?’
‘for what?’
‘I just finish your quest right so don’t I deserved it?’
‘but I don’t have any money left’
‘ouh yeah I forgot about that, so what else you can give me if not I will leave you know’
Flustered by R remark, she start to rush back behind the reception desk while saying
‘wait wait I got something for you so wait’
Taking her time, R waits patiently for his reward.
With dust all over her, she brings out a dusty black box. Putting it on top of the table, she then gladly pushes the box towards R.
‘so what’s this ?’
‘its your random reward hihi’
‘ok but where’s my money?’
‘i don’t have any but the box makes up for it’
‘yeah so what’s in the box?’
‘How about you find it out then hehe’

‘yeah isn’t it exciting hihi’

Damn it this NPC, why does she give me a random box. In all of my times, reward box doesn’t sit well with me. Im not lucky enough to pair up with the random box. So the future wasn’t really looking good for me with this damn box so better as well get it done with.
Opening the lid of the box, a bright shine can be seen emitting from the box. Hope was seen through R’s eyes. The moment he has been waiting for has come, to gain what he should have from the moment he start playing online games. A legendary item, if he can gain one he would immediately change his class according to the weapon class.

But too bad, luck doesn’t really side with him does she. His eye turn dead the moment he saw what’s inside the box.
‘What’s this?’
‘hey hey what do you got?’
Removing the object from the box he then presents it to Ailani.
‘I got a fucking tree branch’
Even Ailani shows a dumbfounded expression, she wasn’t expecting that R would get such a thing from the box.
‘ehh, I thought the high level reward box would give a good item’
‘high level? More like trash box I would say, huh im getting out of here’

As R walks toward the exit fuming with anger, Ailani leaps to the ground grabbing R’s leg stopping him from leaving the adventurer’s guild.

Bursting with anger he then attempt to cool himself down.

Calm down Mera, it’s just a game. You have been through this. Don’t sweat it. You need to relax and calm yourself. You have like 29 days 23 hours and 4 minutes left before you can leave this place. So enjoy while you can. Fuh~

R calmly accepts the quest, thinking how hard would it be to kill some chickens. But boy he was wrong. Reaching the border of the town, he then saw a grassy ground fill to the brim with wild chickens. What made his jaw dropped was the chicken isn’t the usual tame like one breed with the sole purpose of turning into Colonel Sunder’s fried chicken but the physical appearance of these chicken was certainly intimidating. Colorful brownish feathers that covers their body and their shining sharp orange beak but what make them frightening was the canine teeth on their beaks. Yup you know it chicken plus sharp teeth equals to terror on the ground.
But R was expecting it, never in his life things would be easy for him. So he came prepared. Before coming here he already ‘receive’ some weapon from Ailani or more like coercing her to giving him but it was all well for him. Checking his inventory, he checks the status description of his new gifts;

But the things that annoy him while opening the inventory was the tree branch he received in the random box. A useless loot that can be left to rot into particle data, but due to Ailani constant pestering and persuasion he has to keep it or else his ears would be burn by the constant nagging.
Closing the inventory window, he then equip himself with the bow and the wooden arrows that he got from Ailani. Taking his aim from afar, he then target the nearest chicken in front of him. The distance was approximately 5 meters, R was standing directly at the border of the town gate. Stretching the bow’s thread he prepare himself to kill the first chicken in his life.
As the ocean breeze blows he waits for the wind to die down, waiting for the perfect moment. He then releases his arrow. Swift like the wind it flies toward the chicken. Not noticing the incoming arrow the unfortunate chicken quickly dies after being hit straight to its head. Talk about a lucky shot.
But after killing a few more chickens he then notices something. His movement particularly after drawing his bow to the follow through of the release seems natural and felt robotic, it was like R was a natural born archer. He could not disturb the movement of his own body while pulling the bow’s thread. He wonders is this how the game fixed the inabilities of the user to use a bow and arrow in real life.

While finishing his last wild chicken and looting its feather, R then walks slowly back to the adventurer’s guild. Pondering regarding the system helping him in using the bow, he wonders if he could disable that function.
Arriving in front of the adventurer’s guild he then proceed to finish his class change.
‘hey Ailani, I finished my task’
‘oh okay now let me received the loot first’
R politely gave out the loots to Ailani.
‘now you are ready for the class changes, here we go’

Satisfied with his new class change he then went outside searching for a proper place. But before he can leave the guild head stop him again;
‘R-sann, when are you going to request for some quest, im itching to give it to you’
‘hmm, give it to others than’

Leaving the teary eyed guild head, R then continue on to his objective. Finding the perfect spot for his agenda, he then found a vacant plain ground. With no one else using the empty spot he then configures some makeshift dummy target from a haystack. Drawing a terrible image of a bulleyes target he then starts to begin his so called experiment;
‘time to test some arrow’
He releases arrow by arrow targeting the fragile haystack. Most of the arrows hit near the center of the target. The distanced between him and the arrow was around 15 meters. For one thing R was thinking if everyone was the same as this. If so then everyone would be a great archer then.
Changing the distance a bit he then targets it from a distance of 20 meter. Again the arrow was still at the border line of the center area. But as R increase the range little by little, the arrows were now getting less accurate. The limit of him hitting the target even by the border of the last circle was at 30 meter max.
More than that the arrows wouldn’t even hit the target or even the haystack. So now he was pretty convinced that most beginner archer could only shoot at the maximum distance of 30 meters. Finishing the first part of his experiment, he then proceeds with the 2nd part.
Taking a seat first below the shade of a tree, he then took a quick breather regenerating his depleted stamina. The tropic weather was truly hot, it kinda remind him of his hometown. But what truly amaze him was he could really felt the air, the weather, the people around him and it all felt real to him. Again this 99.99% isn’t one of those fake propagandas made by the marketing department. Before getting on with the options, he first start to inspect the new stats he just earn after class change;

Postponing the status point distribution he then continue on to his original intention.
Opening up the system window, he scroll down the option provided to see if he can find what he was looking for. Clicking on the game option, he then sees the thing he was looking for the character settings.

Finding the option for system readjustment guidance, R then disables it. Looking around at first, he didn’t notice any changes in his body. He then grabs his bow to begin his 2nd phase. Taking his distance, he then start to begin his drawing bow motion.

Wooah didn’t know that even the pulling the string was hard. Without system guidance its certainly pose a certain tension during the movement. So how about I imitate the movement if I was under the guidance of the system.
Drawing his bow, he then takes his aim. The target was now quite hard to keep his eye on as the missing of the crosshair on the target. Plus to maintain his posture was quite hard as the bow kept getting downwards as his hand was trembling.
Relaxing again before he shoot, he took a deep breath while simultaneously draw the bow’s string. Properly taking his aim in 2 seconds time, he then releases it.
‘THUD’
‘hmm not bad’
The arrow barely hit the outermost ring. It was closed to the border line. Even so for his first attempt it wasn’t that bad. The problem was the distance was only 5 meters, so without system guidance proves to be fatal if he was in a battle right now.
‘Seems I need to spend some time for archery then’
Then R starts practicing his archery for a few hours, during the course of him practicing. There were more or less arrow not hitting the target in a continuous streak leading to a raged man with a bow at the town squared but that incident die down quickly. After a quick breather he then makes improvement, though not a lot it still can be consider an accomplishment. During those 4 hours, he had received three window notifications regarding an increase on his status and also a new passive skill.

People may wonder why the hell would you turn off the system guidance and making it hard for yourself but that what’s he was looking for in this game. Running through the grassy plain, shooting his enemy while running across the dead corpses of his enemies. Rolling around the ground, pulling a trick shot upon getting his balance, that’s what he had imagined doing in virtual reality. Like the famous elegant Legolas with his bow, Robin Hood and his weird antics and others numerous bow wielder in ficitons. He want to create his own bow slinging persona and through this game he want to build that character. So by disabling the system guidance, he can pull of different types of bow pulling maneuver rather than the monotonous single basic maneuver.
After those 4 hours he was getting a hang of it, so to treat himself of his accomplishment he then went to the beach side tavern. It has an open air veranda that faces the ocean, with its clean and untouch tavern. It could be said that the tavern was cater to him and him only. The purpose of the creation of the island was to attract the non-gamers to feel and experience virtual reality as a vacation.
But with non-existent user spawning over here, the facilities are not being used. Most of the current users right now are more focused on strengthening their character leveling up their avatar to the top list of user. So they refer to forums as their resource for the best training spot or best dungeon for them to train.
So R continuing along with his cocktail on his hand and a seafood platters on the other, he then sat down on the lazy chair that was facing the ocean. It was like heaven to him, enjoying the sea breeze and a cold sweet drink, he was enjoying it to the fullest. Well it was his major purpose on playing this game, lazying around was no.1 and adventure was no.2, so all in all he take priority in pampering himself.
‘huh~ this is the life I wish I could stay here all the time, I wonder what are those guys doing right now, I heard they are also started to play this game, should I contact them? Hmmm maybe next time I need to take a snooze first’
