Well, we are entering the final third of the story. There are about five volumes left, I believe. It is a rough estimate. It could be more or less. Given the fact that whatever I plan for this story has rarely gone as planned, it could go on for a bit longer.

And, while it will depend on how the story concludes, there is a possibility of another story with a different character from this novel. The reason for it is due to the fact that I’ve built up quite a bit of lore while writing this. The map, the characters, and the world - It would be a waste to just bury it when the story ends. Another reason is that this story … did not go the way I originally envisioned it to be. To be honest, I planned this story to be an adventurer’s story with Kamil exploring the world. It’s pretty clear that that ain’t gonna happen at this point. If you are able to recall my past afterword notes, Flora wasn’t supposed to survive, either. I never planned for her to be his wife. But here we are. I blame alcohol (sake) mostly for the mishaps.

Meanwhile, I am slowly moving away from AI-generated images. I used AI-generated images early on because I had no assets to use at all for art pieces. Now, I have some. If you download the epub / PDF version of volume 8, you will see an updated height-chart of Kamil, Flora, Lara, and Marat. I plan to add a 3D model of Raem and possibly Esther in volume 9.

Additionally, I am also working on a 3D model of Ceres itself, which I consider to be a long term project. Any news related to 3D stuff is updated on my Pateron page. Anyway, I fully expect the cover of volume 9 to be from my own assets, meaning it will be a 3D-rendered image instead of AI-generated covers I’ve used thus far.

Finally, the pattern of spending a year per volume is now over, meaning a volume doesn’t automatically translate a year anymore.
