After collecting the money and his things, Jason began his journey to the town of Sharnwick.
The journey was about a three-day walk, so he brought plenty of supplies. He even brought a mobile alchemy lab to occupy his time when camping for the night, and hopefully, he could pluck some new ingredients from the forest. Throughout the trip, Jason practiced Transmutation, Alchemy, and Foraging and even found a way to use Sense Metal to find plants.

With his new skill, he gathered a lot of new and interesting ingredients.
He arrived at Sharnwick early enough on the third morning to begin his search for Katrina. With his newly leveled-up skills, he was confident enough to gain something out of their encounter, hopefully an apprenticeship!
As an important local figure, she was very easy to find; in an old shop building near the edge of town. Jason knocked and said, “Hello? I’m looking for Katrina! I am looking to become a professional crafter!”. The door opened and a stunning woman stood in the frame. She smiled and replied to Jason, “Hi there. I’m Katrina, do you really have what it takes to become my apprentice? You're the twelfth to ask since The Arrival, and yet here I am, still with no apprentice.”
Jason straightened his posture, meeting Katrina's scrutinizing gaze with unwavering confidence. "I believe I do," he replied, his voice steady. He extended his hand, offering his sword. "This is the sword I crafted. This is a taste of my current skills."
Katrina took the sword, inspecting it with practiced eyes. "Interesting work," she murmured. "But craftsmanship is only part of the equation. Follow me." She turned and walked into the shop, not waiting to see if he would follow.
Jason stepped inside, marveling at the organized chaos. Tools and materials of all kinds were neatly arranged on shelves, while half-finished projects lay scattered across several workbenches. The air was thick with the scent of leather, wood, and the faint tang of metal.
Katrina led him to the back of the shop, where a large, rune-inscribed forge dominated the space. "This is where you'll prove yourself," she said, motioning to the forge. "I need a dagger crafted from Mythril, infused with fire and lightning enchantments. You have two hours."
Jason's heart raced. Mythril was a rare metal, and combining two elemental enchantments on a single weapon was no easy feat. But he nodded, accepting the challenge. "Understood."
He began by assessing the materials at hand. Finding a chunk of mythril, he started by heating it in the forge. As the metal glowed with a soft blue light, he carefully shaped it into a blade, his hands moving with practiced precision. The forge's magic made the process smoother, but Jason's skill was evident in the blade's balanced form and razor-sharp edge.

Next, he focused on the enchantments. Drawing from his reservoir of MP, he inscribed runes along the blade's length, imbuing it with fire and lightning, luckily, he had remembered the elemental enchantments. The process was intricate, requiring a delicate balance to ensure the enchantments didn't interfere with each other. Sweat beaded on his forehead as he concentrated, channeling his magic with exacting control.

Two hours later, Jason presented the finished dagger to Katrina. The blade shimmered with an inner light, flickers of flame and sparks of lightning dancing along its edge. Katrina examined it closely, her expression unreadable.
Finally, she nodded, a hint of a smile playing on her lips. "Impressive. You've managed to balance the enchantments perfectly. Many would have failed this test."
Jason let out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding. "Thank you."
Katrina placed the dagger on a nearby table and turned to face him fully. "You have skill, Jason. But being my apprentice isn't just about crafting. It's about innovation, understanding the essence of materials, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible. Are you ready for that?"
"I am," Jason said without hesitation.
"Good," Katrina said, her smile widening. "Then welcome to your new home, apprentice. There's much work to be done."
