Before the dust cleared from defeating the T-Rex that Jason had tried to fend off Rina was already running to his side, worried that the worst case scenario had happened. She slid to a stop at his side, dropping to her knees. Tears streamed down her face as she checked for signs that he was alright, but she was shaking too much to get an accurate read of the situation. Even just trying to feel his breath proved to be too much for her. She didn’t notice that the slime around his body was coalescing beside her, reforming into the shape of the small slime girl, Gabi.
Gabi reached out and set her hand on Rina’s shoulder, “Master’s ok, Fire Witch. I kept him safe!”
“Really?” Rina looked to her, her eyes filled with tears. She tried to wipe them away, but they just kept flowing, wanting to believe her, but she didn’t trust the slime girl.
“Gabi would never let Master get hurt if she can help it!”
Rina spun around and hugged onto Gabi, her arms sinking into Gabi’s body like jello, as her tears turned from being that of a frightened little girl to happiness that flowed from her like a waterfall. For that brief moment both girls forgot that they didn’t like each other and revelled in their relief that Jason wasn’t dead… yet. There were still two T-Rexes ravaging the town and they needed to be stopped before there was nothing left to the town.
Outside the gates, the T-Rex felt satisfied having just swallowed the large meal that was Xev. After a second to catch its breath it lowered its head and stepped through the gate into a veritable feast waiting for its consumption. It gave a roar showing its dominance and victory. The aliens that had once thought that these monsters were a boon to keep the wasps away and nothing to be afraid of. They cowered back. Before, they were prepared to defend their new home to the death. Now, they were about to abandon everything thinking that they could never stand up to the beasts. They’d not seen Rina defeat one of them. All they had seen is Jason’s defeat and the monster running rampant eating anyone that came against it. As the T-Rex approached a large group, the people were about to break and run. Suddenly, a Thesin flew through the air with two wasp swords in hand at the beast attempting to plunge them into the hide of the reptile. And just like that, the feeling of fear, the desire to run away as fast as their legs could carry them, was swept away, replaced with something else, a will to fight back and not let these monsters take what they had built from them.
Anyone with the smallest amount of energy left rushed towards the T-Rex, swarming it, using what they could to attack. The mud laden people climbed on top of the T-Rex and attempted to plunge spears into its back. They tried running into its legs to knock off balance while others used anything sharp to stab into its underside, up its throat and into its jaws. All of this did little damage. The dinosaur had been evolved in a time of titans with worse weapons than these little insects had, but even more, it seemed as though its genetic code had been tampered with to make it bigger and more resilient to attacks than it could have ever evolved to have had. This didn’t stop them from trying. It’s all that they could do now. Fight back or die in the belly of the beast.
The dinosaur thrashed about trying to pull individuals off it, but it was at just as much of an impasse as those that were trying to kill it. Its limbs were not long enough to grasp them and the multitude of spears kept it from targeting any of them with its maw. The struggle between the two groups lasted several minutes before the T-Rex’s underbelly started to glow. First dimly and then it was like it had swallowed a star. The attackers watching this began to back away, keeping their weapons at the ready, the edge of their blades to the beast’s teeth. They all prepared to move out of the way for whatever it was up to. The T-Rex’s eyes opened wide before it howled into the darkening sky.
The belly of the T-Rex ruptured letting more light to leak out from within its insides and with that the fierceness that the creature had been projecting turned to fear and agony as it was being torn apart from within. The sounds that came from the T-Rex were a horrific combination of squeals and roars of different animals that could be found in Earth’s ecosystem, but never heard in such a disgusting mixture. All who heard it were sickened, struck with the urge to wretch before running far from whatever the source, even the other T-Rex that was currently snacking on many of the small groups that were trying to flee while exhausted. It went on for a minute but later they would recall it as having gone on for at least an hour, but it ended when a glowing figure dropped from the abdomen of the T-Rex.
The figure’s light began to fade as it stood up revealing the figure of a tall, very busty woman dressed in red and black ARMS armor. She seemed to be completely unphased from being in the stomach of the dinosaur where she was exposed to its acids, save for the fact that she was covered in the viscous mucus of the T-Rex’s insides that dripped off her. She stepped out from under it and walked around to face the creature. It stood, paralyzed and unable to comprehend what was happening as its blood pooled beneath it. Xev’s hand made a motion that caused an ARMs device to activate forming a whip in her hand and in one more movement the thong of the whip snaps around the T-Rex’s neck. She yanks the whip. The force pulls the dinosaur over and simultaneously the whip chainsaws around its throat cutting its head from its body. Another beast had fallen, but not without taking a dozen or more lives with it. With that, Xev fell to the ground with a smile on her face. For the first time she found herself drained of much of her energy reserves. She would need to take some time to recharge. Others could help her with the process, but it didn’t look there would be any volunteers for some time.

The last of the T-Rexes had accomplished what had come to do, get a bite to eat. It no longer needed, nor wanted, to be in the settlement. It could turn and go back over the wall and out the way that it had gotten in, but it was not a smart animal. It could not remember the way that it had come. It did, however, see an exit and rushed for it. Between itself and the gateway were Rina, Gabi, Jason, Xev, and the many others that had already spent most, if not all, of their energies defeating the other two members of its pack that had come with it. It sprinted towards the gateway, not perceiving any threats to itself.
Rina and Gabi saw that the behemoth was coming right for them and if they didn’t stop it or move Jason he would be trampled by it or worse. They stood their ground and prepared themselves. Gabi looked fierce but in reality she was just a slime girl that couldn’t do much in her current state, but she’d do what she could, even if it meant that she’d lose her life to save Jason’s. Rina’s hand glowed with a fireball that was growing in size as the seconds ticked down till the monster was within range. It came close enough, crossing the invisible line between being completely safety and within the circle of devastation that Rina could cause with her fireball magic. She let loose the orb of flames at it, pushing it back, but still it charged forward. She attempted another, but found that her ARMS told her that she was out of power. All of it had been expended on healing and dealing with the first T-Rex. Gabi looked at her confused why she’d stopped. With one look she knew that the fear that she had felt earlier was coming back. The girl was trembling. They both knew it was the end, this time for real.
Gabi balled her hand into a fist, clenching tightly, before deciding to run at the T-Rex and try to slow it down by tying it up or something. Before she could make her move however, there came a shout from behind to get down. Mittana and Mya stood at the gate’s entrance holding massive gatling gun that required both of them to hold and aim it. Mittana flipped a switch on its side. The gun, more of a cannon, came to life, lighting up with the sound of whirring as the dozen barrels began spinning rapidly. The T-Rex didn’t know what was about to happen. It just kept on its path, not pausing for a moment. And then Mya pulled the trigger. An instant was all it took. A thousand rounds of ammunition flew threw the air, closing the distance near instantly. Every bullet was launched at hypersonic velocities. The result was that thousands of sonic booms happened at the same time, the force of which ripped apart the wall behind the two girls and anyone to their side that was standing were tossed back away from them. They were safe, the concussive force flowing around them thanks to some brilliant engineering, but the dinosaur? It was didn’t survive. It had started with just blasting a hole clean through its body and with it, dispersing some of the energy from the shot into the target knocking it back, but that was just the first of many to hit the mark. By the time that every bullet had cleared the poor creatures vicinity, there was nothing but a fine red mist left where the Tyrannosaurus Rex once stood. Behind it was a path of buildings that were missing chunks from them. There weren't any remnants of the blown out walls though. They vaporized on contact. The destruction thankfully abated at the inner wall where many of the bullets had lodged themselves deep into it. Had they gotten through and the land wasn’t built up, those that had taken up refuge in the temporary keep would have also been obliterated.
It was a good thing that all it took was a single tap of the trigger to get the job done, because the two girls couldn’t hold it for much longer than that. They had built the gatling cannon on the fly and they didn’t have time to test it, but much of it was built with the knowledge they had acquired from listening to the Human engineers. Once they understood the basic principles behind artillery and electromagnetism it was childsplay to create a weapon of such power by modifying an ARMS weapon. They had made a gatling gun combined with a railgun with whatever calibur that they had on hand. What they had were cannons that you’d attach to a vehicle, not hold on your person. They didn’t have time to test it and didn’t have any understanding of the forces they were really dealing with, but they made it like idiot savant engineers. After the shot they fired it was too much for them. They didn’t have a choice to do anything other than drop the weapon. It had done more damage that they imagined, but the T-Rexes were no more, but much of the settlement was also no more. They could rebuild. They would rebuild. It would be a shame if they didn’t everyone collectively thought without putting voice to it.
