Nahida arrived in Tempest with Rimuru. First, the two went to Rimuru's house to eat something, as it was afternoon, and neither of them had eaten anything.
They sat on the floor in a spacious room as they did the first time Nahida came to Rimuru's house.
The food was served, and they finished eating quickly.
"How do you intend to help me learn magic?"
"The first thing I need to do is make you feel magical power since you are not from this world. I can help you with that."
"I see. But before that, I want to try leveling up at least once."
"Sure, no problem. I can get you a weapon, and you could kill some monsters. I'll catch them, and you kill them. It's simple."
"..."
After a few minutes, they left Rimuru's house to go to the forest. And how would they go? Flying. Rimuru offered to take Nahida into the skies, and of course, Nahida accepted his suggestion. It was a dream to fly through the skies.
Then, in the middle of the city, Rimuru's black wings appeared, and he grabbed Nahida under his arms. Nahida felt slight discomfort, but when Rimuru took him up into the sky, he forgot about his discomfort.
Nahida held his breath.
Wherever he looked, he could see the green, living forest. And in the distance, he could see some breathtakingly beautiful mountains. It was a unique and beautiful region.
"It's beautiful, isn't it? I was surprised too when I flew here for the first time."
"It's more beautiful than I imagined. I think I could live here."
"But don't you already live here?"
The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
"I can't come to Tempest whenever I want, so it's a bit complicated. Maybe my system will allow me to do that in the future; I have no way of knowing."
"..." Rimuru flew above the forest for a few minutes to let Nahida admire the view. Then, he stopped suddenly. "So, are you ready? You have your sword with you, don't you?"
"Yes. But I told you before, didn't I? I don't have any experience with swords."
"I don't either, so don't worry. Just swing and cut. It's simple."
"..." Nahida wasn't confident but nodded positively to Rimuru, and they headed toward the forest. It was a forest that was not very dense, despite the immense amount of trees.
The place they landed had a lot of space; it was the perfect place to fight and kill some monsters.
"There are a lot of wolves in this area, so it's easy to get them."
"That giant wolf of yours won't mind seeing other wolves die?"
"Of course not. Now let's go after some of them." Rimuru disappeared, leaving Nahida in the middle of the forest with Ranga. The giant wolf had the job of protecting him.
Rimuru flew above the forest and caught some wild wolves. He didn't kill any of them but hit them directly in the head to make the wolves lose consciousness.
After capturing five of them, Rimuru returned to where Nahida was.
"Here they are; kill them all to see if you can level up." Nahida approached the five wolves. Rimuru had put all the wolves lying down and lined up.
It was like an abattoir.
But Nahida didn't care about the wolves. They were just wild monsters, after all. Those monsters would try to kill him if they met him in the middle of the forest.
Nahida drove his sword into the neck of the first wolf. The wolf's neck was pierced, and a large amount of blood began to flow from its wound, staining the forest floor red.
The wolf woke up and agonized for a while before dying.
[ You received experience points! ]
"I received a message. It's the same voice that talks to me when I use the system to upgrade my hotel. But it doesn't show how much experience I've earned."
"Try opening your Status to take a look."
[ Name ] - Nahida Yamato
[ Level ] - 1 (50/100)
[ Strength ] - 20
[ Agility ] -15
[ Endurance ] - 25
[ Magic ] - 125
"A number came up. A wolf gave me 50 experience. I need 100 to get to level two."
"Then kill one more of them. We need to know what you'll get for leveling up."
"Right."
Nahida approached the next wolf and swung his single-edged sword with force, decapitating the wolf and killing it instantly.
[ You received experience points! ]
"That was a nice cut." Rimuru clapped his hands.
[ You've leveled up! ]
[ Your Strength has increased by 5 ]
[ Your Agility has increased by 5 ]
[ Your Endurance has increased by 5 ]
[ Your Magic has increased by 5 ]
"I received five points in all my Status for leveling up."
"That's it? Didn't you get a new skill?"
"No, just five points of strength, agility, endurance, and magic. But isn't that good enough?"
"Well, I don't know how your system calculates your attributes."
"Anyway, I think I can level up easily here. I'll probably get some reward for reaching level 10, like what happened when the hotel system reached level 10."
"What reward did you get?"
"I can exchange currencies now. I can turn the gold coins you give me into yen."
"Isn't that very convenient? Now you've made your job much easier."
"Exactly. I'm very happy to receive this new possibility." Nahida approached the next wolf and killed it. He killed the remaining three wolves and received 150 experience points. However, he did not level up yet.
He needed 200 experience points to level up to level three.
Rimuru began to get quite excited to see Nahida's progress. Since the moment in history when his city was attacked had not yet arrived, Rimuru had plenty of free time.
So he would spend a few days helping Nahida raise his level as much as possible.
And by the next morning, Nahida had already reached level 10.
