"Help! Somebody Help!"
"We have an injured person here. Anybody."
Some adventurers were coming out of the forest. Some with bloodied clothes and had dire injuries. It was a monster attack.
Hearing the situation, some villages gathered around to treat the wounded. Cain's parents locked Cain in the inn room and rushed there as well.
Though almost everyone could use magic, most wouldn't be skilled enough to cast healing magic. The village had a herbalist but there was little the herbalist could do in case of adventurer who had their his cut open by monsters. Lunette (Cain's mom/ aunt) was about the only one who could use magic of that level so she had to rush to the scene with medical equipment.
"What's the condition?" she asked the herbalist.
"2 with multiple fractures and shattered bones
and 1 with deep cut in the abdomen. They have lost consciousness due to blood loss.
I have cleaned the wound and stopped blood flows but it's not enough". the herbalist replied.
The 2 adventurers would likely survive but the other one would not live unless immediate medical treatment was given.
"The cut needs to be closed immediately, patient has lost a lot of blood already."
With that said, she opened a box she brought with her and started applying stitches. Soon enough tree cuts were closed and she then started to heal the wound with magic.
One needed to follow several procedures before applying healing magic. One couldn't just simply apply healing magic at an open wound or if foreign substances like poison at dirt were stuck in the wound. It would do more harm than good. So she had to clean and close the wound before hand.
On applying healing magic, the wound saw some changes. The cells around were arranging themselves, dividing and new cells were moving to the injury location to properly close of the wound. In just a few seconds the wound was almost fully tested and just the stitches had remained.
The herbalist gave her a potion which she fed to the injured adventurer.

With that done she started tending the broken bones of the other 2 adventurers. With magic, the shattered parts quickly came back together and bonded back into the bone. The tooth muscled also integrated back in shape and the bruises were healed too. Magic sure was handy.
With the potions embrace, the 2 adventurers quickly regained consciousness. Without much wait Myles asked:
"What happened? What got you to be in that state?"
Recalling the scene, the adventurers shivered with fear. The 3 men party consisting of 2 swordsmen and a mage was out there hunting for striped wolves but when they least expected it, a black short boar jumped on them.
Black short boars were by no means short with each towering at 3 meters tall. But among the black boars, this species was indeed the shortest. This just goes to show how frightening the beasts really are.
The beast attacked the party. The two swordsman were quick on their feet and so manage to dodge just in time but the mage wasn't so fortunate.
It's tusks impaled the mage and flung him high up. Within a second, the mage was down. His abdomen was cute clean by its tusks and his internals had splattered out.
The boar seemed more aggressive than normal. Seeing their companion in suck state terrified them. They would have stood no chance against the beast but now their mage was on the verge of doing. They could not afford to lose any second.
Time was ticking and they had to be quick.
They looked at each other and nodded.
Not one spoke a word but they understood what hat to be done.
The boar exhaled mist. I was getting ready. The swordmen were waiting for the right moment.
A swordman savagely roared out a battle cry and plunged forward at the boar. The boar agressively charged at the swordsman as well.
With careful timing and precision. The swordsman managed to dodge the charging boar.
The boar collided with a thick tree, toppling it down.
Meanwhile the other swordsman put the mage's organs back and carried him to a safe distance before moving back to help his friend escape together.
To his horror, he finds his friend nearly crushed by a fallen tree struggling to escape. He quickly got his friend out but while doing so failed to sense the black boat approaching in time. Though not a direct hit, the swordsman suffered heavy same with multiple shattered bones.
They then ran in different directions with plans to meet each other just outside the jungle. One of them carried the mage while other was followed by the boar but soon outran it by traveling throw thick forest area thereby, escaping from the depths of the jungle.
The adventurers told all the story to the villagers. It was a miracle none of them died. But then another problem rose.
The adventurers had a narrow escape. But that meant trouble for the villagers. It meant that the boar was probably roaming around the woodland edge. If it's anger had not subsided then it could potentially find it's way to the village sooner or later.
The adventurers that were previously on the inn were gone. The only ones were the 3 injured ones.
Soon enough, panic stuck and the crowd started dispersing. Two villagers headed to a nearby village for help. There was an Adventurers Guild, so they had hoped to bring back help before the black boar enters the village. Other villagers were searching for their families and many took shelter in their homes. Some brought out their hatchets preparing to provide any support they could provide to bring down the indomitable foe.
Myles and the two swordsmen were observing the perimeter. Laying traps would have been the best course of action but there was not enough time. The herbalist and Lunette equipped their items and stayed vigilant waiting for the beast.
Not long after, a wild roar echoed through the village. Everyone was alerted of the approaching danger.
It was the beast.
The disaster had finally struck.
