A war was brewing in the Kaijuverse. The humans continued to expand their territory into the southern jungle, getting dangerously close to the land of the kaiju. They were playing a dangerous game with the beasts, knowing that the kaiju were the apex predators of the southern jungle. One wrong step into their territory, and the Kaiju would take their movement as a sign of aggression and an act of war.
Due to the constant threat of invasion from the humans, the council assigned a group of the strongest Kaiju warriors to trek deep from within their jungle hideaway north into the human territories daily, seeking out the next city to destroy if the humans began to get overconfident. The warriors loved the assignment. Like some other society members enjoyed hunting, gathering, or growing crops, they loved the art of destruction. It took skill, just like any other talent. The warriors had developed techniques and tactics that lent themselves to increased chances of success when invading human cities, and their expertise showed.
Deep inside, the warriors reveled in the chaos and destruction from invading human cities. The loved the excitement and anticipation of the next big city just over the horizon. When returning to the community, they would be celebrated as heroes and were personally responsible for developing the settlement’s economy. The valuable currency the warriors received would bolster the community and its citizens. Without the warriors and their valiant missions, society would fail to function.
Another class of great adventurers, the scouts, were equally crucial to the settlement and were praised accordingly. The council members would give them their assignments, doing various tasks. At times they would be sent into far-off, unknown lands in search of human cities for the warriors to plunder; at other times, they would go off on grand adventures, scouring lands far to the south of the jungle in search of new lands for the colony to expand into or rare resources to bring to the homeland from outside of their usual territories. When on a mission for the warriors, as soon as they found the next town on the horizon, they would hurry back to the village, excited that they could be the ones to send the brave soldiers out to enact vengeance on the humans for their trespass.
Once the scouts had returned with the news, the warriors readied themselves for a battle. The scouts would provide as much information as possible about the location and the path they took to arrive at the city. Once outside the settlement and on the trail, the warrior’s pace would quicken, the ground shaking like thunder when the warriors approached. Even before the warriors could see the cities they attacked, the occupants knew that suffering was upon them, and all they could do was wait.
To say the destruction of a city was swift and clean would be a lie. The warriors of the kaiju clan took their time with their terror. Their primal instincts emerged when they began tearing apart structures, throwing humans from towers easily. Their species was made for destruction; in recent years, they had become a more civilized society, but the warriors sometimes could not handle the pleasantries of settlement life. Their urges for blood, gore, and violence occasionally slipped through the cracks of well-refined veneers, and when they did, nothing but death would satiate their cravings. The screaming of humans was like music to their ears; death and destruction were their calling cards. The warriors were incredibly efficient at destroying cities, even developing a systematic approach. First, they would single out the most prominent building. Usually, this building would hold hundreds of humans, and as it was torn into shreds, the humans would scream in unison, creating a sweet serenade for the warriors as they began their destruction of the city.

From the first building, the warriors would work outward, knowing that most of the human infrastructure was built around a central area in each city. As the buildings tumbled, screams could be heard echoing around the city continuously. They were terror-filled as the insignificant humans residing in the structures became casualties of the decimation. After the warriors had laid waste to most of the buildings, they would circle back to the city center and begin tearing apart any of the city infrastructure they had missed on their initial pass-through. Roadways would be the first to be destroyed, large footprints stamped into the roads, so they could not be traversed. Next, bridges were torn apart at each end, leaving no way to access the crossings. Finally, airports and their planes would be crumpled to dust. Occasionally, the warriors would use small aircrafts as weapons, throwing them through tall buildings left standing as an oversight after their initial wave of destruction. Once the human heard the rumble of thunder approaching their city, no one could escape the warrior’s wrath. After all, infrastructure was destroyed, and the citizens were trapped in the city; the warriors would begin locating underground pipes running through the city. They would tear up the gas and water lines creating hazardous chemical spills that would spread throughout the air, poisoning anyone in the vicinity of the breaks that had survived the initial onslaught.
Once the inner city had been reduced to ruins, the warriors would continue into the city’s residential areas. The buildings in these areas were much smaller than in the inner city but were always filled with humans, allowing the warriors to personalize their vengeance and indulge their primal need for blood and gore. Once the invasion of the human city began, the warriors would enter a trance-like state where they would not stop until every part of the city was uninhabitable. They would ensure no building or structure was left salvageable and no human within the city limits was left alive to attempt rebuilding their pitiful city.
