Prolog: A Desperate Goddess.

A lone woman, dressed in green with long flowing green hair, sat alone in space. Staring at a mostly blue planet, or more specifically, the flaming orbs that flew away from the planet and into space or looping around and returning to the planet. These orbs were souls, souls of humans that died and entered the process of reincarnation. Occasionally why watching the streams of souls the women would reach out and draw one near her, inspect it, and then throw it back towards the planet or into the depths of space.

The women was a goddess of another world, a world that held many gods that governed over everything, and demi-gods that governed even more things but only the main gods would go out to other worlds to collect a soul in order to make it their champion. A champion that would gather power for them, and if they were lucky the champion would even dominate the world. “if only” the goddess sighed.

She was the goddess of wind, a god known in her world for being carefree and energetic but known to her fellow gods she was more careless and only ever energetic when she was not working. She was also on the weaker side, always having bad luck with selecting champions and did not have that many demi-gods at her call and some of the few she did caused her some mental anguish every now and then.

The goddess leaned back into the void of space, taking a breather when she heard a familiar voice. “Hey Wind! Back at it again eh? Fish up anything good?” A woman with short black hair stepped threw a portal, greeting her. The gods only using their real names when they were ever truly alone, and just choosing to use the names of their elements they represented, the meaning of why they do so lost to time.

Wind briefly looked back then hung her head “Oh, hey darkness” Wind greeted the fellow darkness who she honestly wasn’t too fond of. For one thing darkness was ranked two in power among the main gods, technically ruled more then half the world they governed and was known for her chaos she brought into the world. “what are you doing here? Didn’t you just get another champion?” Wind asked.

Darkness chuckled, a toothy grin spreading on her face “yup, why? Can’t a girl get another.” The dark goddess reached out her hand, drawing a soul closer to her for inspection “ooooh, this is a good one” she smirked “Can give this one a fresh start as a baby, can fit maybe 5, no, 6 skills on it!” Wind shot up “what?! Impossible! You are lucky if you can get 3 skills on a fresh start!” Wind stood up and faced her “you liar! Stop making fun of me!” Wind huffed, crossing her arms across her chest.

“oh? Lucky for 3? Oh my sweet, young, and innocent sister. I do this aaaaalll the time, maybe if you learned how to use the system better you could get better champions out of the souls you spend oh-so-long to select” Darkness mocked the girl, causing her face to swell in anger “I told you, stop making fun of me! And its not my fault! The souls are just bad, I got unlucky!” Wind said.

“oh yeah sure, what happened to that one champion by the by? Was that their fault? Who had to go in and fix that little issue huh?” Darkness said, prompting Wind to look away “if they were competent enough then that wouldn’t have happened, it’s still their fault.” Wind said then snapped towards her “And what about your champions huh? Always dying in your own territory!” darkness shrugged in response “Hey, if they can’t measure up in the harder places then oh well, at least they die fighting rather then, well, falling” Darkness smirked, tossing the soul around in the air.

The back and forth between the two continued for a while, shouting insults between the two. Darkness very much remaining on the winning side when it came to teasing her sister, but that changed when a third party entered the mix. “What are you two fighting about now” Another women entered through a portal, this one having red hair and darker skin then the other two. “fiiiiiire~ darkness is bullying me again!” Wind said, running over to the women with open arms, hugging her.

Fire, the redheaded women sighed, looking to the girl hugging her waisted and prying her off. Holding her up by her dress and looking towards Darkness “Will you two get along, could hear you all the way back home” “Not my fault she’s so easy, if she didn’t want that then maybe she should work harder and get stronger eh?” Darkness said, still tossing the soul around “easy for you to say when you are already strong...” Wind said and was quickly shaken by Fire, who was still holding her “She’s right you know, you are lucky you are not the weakest with the amount of effort you put in…” Fire sighed looked between the teary-eyed Wind in her hands and the smug as hell darkness “hmpf, fine. I know just the way to fix this”.

Darkness paled, almost dropping the soul but catching it “No, no we are not doing it. I know what you are going to say and no. She has nothing I want and barely has anything to lose.” Darkness said but Fire stood firm and took a pose, legs spread triumphantly, a hand on her hip, and Wind held high in the other “We shall have a duel!” “NO!” screamed Wind “losing to her, I’ll…I’ll lose even more power!” “Exactly, and I don’t got much to win here” Wind and Darkness both disagreed to the duel but Fire only laughed triumphantly

“Don’t worry, this is to motivate our dear sister. “Fire said “And how is losing to me going to motivate her?” Darkness asked “Simple, I will also participate! And will throw in a prize worthy for you as well Darkness” Fire said then added “she will only have to shoot for second place!” “No! I won’t do it! Its 2v1! Unfair! Unjust! And darkness is going to cheat!”  Wind yelled “Hey I don’t cheat!”

Fire sighed and placed Wind down “look its simple, we each get 1 champion, and whose ever champion becomes the strongest before they die wins, they don’t even have to fight each other. “Fire looked at her sternly “and if you don’t agree to this I am going to tell Light Just how much you have been slacking” Wind gulped, that was the outcome she could not afford at all cost, so much paperwork… “fine, but..” she looked at darkness who by now resumed tossing the soul around in an annoyed fashion “give me a handicap! I want the soul she picked out earlier.”

“Hey! You calling me a cheat and you want to steal my players already!? Who exactly is the cheater!” Darkness protested “Darkness give it to her or Ill tell Light about your little work around involving a pot” Fire said, causing darkness to freeze “How the hell do you know about that?” She stared at her “Who do you think your little lacky ordered it from? Along with all the other tools they couldn’t make themselves, with everything else going on I can put two and two together” Fire laughed ‘fucking muscle brain isn’t all muscle huh…’ darkness spat under her breath then threw the soul at wind “Eep!” she yelped as she caught it “Fine!” yelled darkness, stretching her hand out and grabbing another random soul. “Then it is a bet among gods!” fire shouted, doing the same and grabbing a random soul, then patting Wind on the back “Best of luck to you, and, seriously it might be a good idea to stop slacking off as much…hopefully this will get you to see that” Fire sighed and turned away “no cheating darkness” Fire added as she stepped into a portal and vanished. Darkness groaned “I don’t cheat..” then looked towards wind, who was gently petting the soul with a goofy face. Darkness grinned “you better not say I cheated when you lose.” Wind looked up, sticking her tongue out at her “Don’t be mad when I win with your soul!” she laughed, running into a portal before darkness got a reply.

Darkness sighed “what a morning” she said, looking off to the distant sun “Don’t know why they are so insistent I cheat” she huffed, then, a toothy grin spread cross her face “after all.”

“its only cheating if I get caught.”
