Chapter 4: Parents.
Tia’s attention was drawn to the opening door, seeing a woman in her late 20’s approaching the bed. The women herself wearing a clean dress and having her long blue hair pulled back in a bob. “how are my two little angels doing today?” The women said as she walked closer to the bed, sitting on the edge of it patting the two kids heads “Better then yesterday I hope?” she sighed, looking a bit worryingly at them.
The two twins stared at the women, their mother in this new life, who they have seen and grew familiar with over the past few days. Their opinion of her was good, she was kind, gentle, and somewhat soothing in her mannerisms. If they had any complaints, it would be leaving them unattended for so long on a bed with no rails ‘maybe that is just the standard, and it might be a blessing in disguise till I can get my puppet act together’ Tia thought, deciding it was best to try and emote as little as possible unless she accidently mirrored too many actions on both of her bodies.
Seeing her daughters just staring at her their mother sighed, pouting a bit before poking Miia’s stomach, prompting an annoyed groan out of her. “I wonder if you just hate mommy…” the girl said looking down in defeat before quickly shooting back up with a look of determination, locking onto Tia and picking her up to match eyes with her “You are still my kids, so I’ll love you even if you hate me” she said, kissing Tia on the forehead and then picking up Miia and doing the same.
Tia internally sighed, she knows she’s being quieter than most babies, but she couldn’t really help it. ‘Just be thankful mother, I’ll be the most well-behaved baby’ Tia thought as another person entered the room, a tall and bulky man with fiery red hair and beard. Despite the muscles and looking like he could kill a bear with single punch the man had a more, dignified, aura around him. “How is the kids Marcy?” the man asked the girl, who smiled gently “Better, they don’t have a fever anymore and are awake” Marcy said before puffing her cheeks out in a pout “I don’t think they like me very much.”
The man laughed “they are just babies dear, I’m sure they love you just fine.” The man said, taking Tia up into his hands “let’s see how my daughter likes her old man yeah?” He moved Tia up to eye level which quickly prompted Tia to extend her small arm in a futile attempt to keep the mans beardy face away touching her as he gave her a kiss, both the twins faces recoiling in disgust at the feeling of the wayward hairs brushing Tia’s face. “See? They like me just fine” the man laughed.
Marcy giggled “yes yes, Roland.” She sat Mia back down on the bed before taking Tia from her husband “Still, I can’t help but worry.” She sighed, hugging her child. Roland sighed, giving a small smile before placing a hand on his wife “I am too, but they are getting better. Have you checked them yet?” He asked “No, not yet” Marcy said repositioning Tia in one arm before raising the other ‘hrm?’ Tia thought, seeing the air in her palm swirl and sparkle before a light blue ball of water formed in her mother’s hand. ‘magic?’ Her mother moved the ball closer to her before pushing it up against her stomach, the ball began to glow as the water inside the ball swirled.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
The water itself was cold, and the swirling tickled Tia’s belly, prompting her and mia to giggle ‘ah, shit’ Tia thought as both giggled. Roland smiled, picking up Miia “You like magic huh?” Roland raised his hand, and again the air swirled and a tiny fire appeared in his hand “careful honey, don’t let Miia touch that” Marcy looked towards him with a light glare “I know I know” He said, making the tiny flame dance on his fingertips. Marcy went back to focusing on Tia “No fever, health is fine and She is doing alright” She nodded and removed the glowing ball from Tia’s belly and setting her down and taking Miia from Roland. Performing the same magical check up on her. Tia thankfully managing to not giggle as Miia got the checkup ‘Healing magic, first time I’m seeing magic after dipping in and out of consciousness. Judging from my stats I should be able to cast magic once this [baby] title is gone’ Tia watched on as Marcy finished.
“They are both fine now.” Their mother sighed in relief. “See, told you they were fine” Roland laughed “they were eating fine for how tired they were, all we had to do was give it a few days…hrm?” Roland glanced towards the window, walking towards it. Marcy glanced towards him, crocking her head to the side “what’s wrong?” she asked. “Wolves” Roland said without looking away from the window “Getting a bit too close to the town, decent sized pack.”
‘How can he tell? A skill?’ Tia wondered, not having that much info on this world and not much to go by “ROLAND!” a voice outside the window shouted and Roland looked down “Roland! A pack of-“ The voice continued but Roland interrupted him “Wolves, yeah i know, did you gather everyone else?” He asked “Yeah, we have to get to em before they get the herd” The voice replied. Tia guessed they were on the second floor of the building, seeing how her father had to look down and she couldn’t see whoever he was talking to.
Roland nodded, turning back to his wife “I will be back” He said, summoning a large great sword from somewhere and appearing on his back ‘More magic!” Tia thought, unknowingly letting out a cry of glee from her mouth. Marcy smiled, holding the two kids in her hands “They are wishing you luck” She said, looking a bit worried “be safe” Roland laughed “They are just wolves, don’t worry, I will” Roland quickly dashed over to his wife, gave a quick kiss to all three, then leaped right out the window “Lets go!” Tia heard him yell, followed by an audible Thud as he landed and took off.
Tia and Miia were laughing ‘He jumped out with no hesitation, used magic, and took out a sword from nothing. This looks promising’ She thought, the Idea that someday she might be leaping threw the sky, summoning fireballs, and clashing swords got her blood boiling. ‘Go away stupid baby title! Let me start blasting away!’
Marcy, who had been looking towards the window with a worried face, finally turned to her children to see them laughing “They sure are active now, seeing daddy in action.” She smiled, then gave a little pout “just wait till you are bigger, little ones. I will be able to show you what mommy is capable of too!” pumped her arms in front of her chest, syncing herself up. “Now, I’m sure you two are hungry by now. Before daddy gets back let’s get you two nice and fed” She said then started unbuttoning the front of her shirt.
“Wait! Shit! I may not remember much about my previous life, but this is still embarrassing! Let me prepare a bit! Can’t we use a bottle?!” Tia tried to cry out in protest but all that came out of the twin’s mouth were garbled noises “oh? You two were that hungry? Don’t worry, mommy has enough for both of you.” Marcy said, picking up Tia.
“Noooo! Use a bottle!” Tia continued to protest until she encountered her first-time breast feeding, her second time coming shortly later. Then after that she experienced what it was like to have her diaper changed, and again a second time shortly after that.
