Adam led the ponies which were dragging the small, covered wagon down the path behind them. The path seemed to be well-kept. As he made his way to the edge of the forest it opened onto a grassy field with holographic signs floating in the air off to the sides of the road. It looked like the signs were interactive as they seemed to maintain their distance and orientation to him as he continued down the road.
Adam drew closer to the sign on his left and noted that it was in a language very similar to common.
DANGER! You are now leaving a SAFE ZONE and entering a level 11 – 20 area. Remain on the path if you wish to remain in the SAFE ZONE. Note, the zone barrier is only marked along the safe zone. Zones move, change, and adjust randomly in a Dungeon World.
Interesting, Adam thought as he moved over to the right side of the road and read the sign there which was also in common,
DANGER! You are now leaving a SAFE ZONE and entering a level 15 – 25 zone. Remain on the Road if you wish to remain in the SAFE ZONE. Note, the zone barrier is only marked along the safe zone. Zones move, change, and adjust randomly in a Dungeon World.
Adam wondered if that was something that The System did or if it was something the ruler of the local city had to set up. Now that he knew he was in a safe zone, Adam started looking at his class choices again. The first thing that he noted was that there seemed to be different tiers of classes. There were Tier 1, 2, and 3. Also listed with each class were classes that the general or basic class could evolve into. After General/Basic classes there were Advanced, Master, Heroic, Legendary, and “*” evolutions. There was also a hyperlink to “General Class Information,” which he chose and manipulated to only take up half his vision so he could read and walk at the same time.
Classes are separated into three main categories. Administration, Artisan, and Combat. Within each category, Classes start as either General or Basic and evolve after reaching a certain point.
Once any Class has reached Level 25 you can choose to evolve your class into an Advanced Class or continue leveling it as a General or Basic Class. At level 50 the General or Basic Class will automatically evolve into an Advanced Class.
Level progression for the evolved class reset to level 1. Skills, abilities, and spells do not reset.
This process is repeated through Master and Heroic evolutions. Once your class level reaches level 25 you may choose to evolve to the next Rank or continue leveling to improve your class.
Legendary Classes only evolve to “*” at level 50.
“*” Classes do not evolve.
Note General and basic Classes level at 1,000 XP per new level. Each Rank doubles the XP cost. 2,000 XP to reach Level 1 of an Advanced Class. 4,000 XP to reach level 1 of a Master Class and so on.
Adam did some quick checking and realized very quickly that individuals might continue progressing to level 50 for their General or Basic class to continue to get more bonuses before they switched over. Though, the temptation to evolve and be able to see quicker progression again looked like a strong motivator to switch early. He’d have to wait and see what the bonuses and benefits were to level a class past 25. Of course, people might also wait so they could get better choices.
In fact, Adam was waiting to choose a class because he had to figure out how to get the system to acknowledge his skills. Adam had noted a lot of classes that were grayed out on the list he’d looked over because he did not have prerequisite skills, even though he knew he had the knowledge of those skills. He was hoping this trip into the town would allow him to find someone that could help him figure out how to get The System to give him credit for the knowledge of skills he already had.
As he reviewed the class system, a system from one of the novel series he’d read before entered his mind. In that system, there’d been a note about a system not recognizing skill use or class advancements unless the user was connected directly to the System. That could be the case. Now all he had to do was figure out how to connect directly to The System.
Adam’s attention was drawn forward to a 20-foot stone wall with a portcullis and two guards standing in front of it. The city wall stretched off for quite a distance with guards patrolling along the walls every 100 feet or so. Each seemed to be dressed in some form of leather armor. Of the two guards in front of him, one carried a long sword and a pistol, and the other a short sword, bow, and quiver. Adam focused on the guard with the pistol and was pleasantly surprised when the items lit up in colors indicating that his Scan ability was working to full effect again.
The pistol was violet, indicating that it was Advanced while the rest of the equipment on both was either white or grey which indicated that they were either Common or uncommon items and equipment.
When he was within 100 feet information appeared as his Scan ability easily pierced their willpower and he received information concerning the guards.
Human, Jerrick, 8, 166, 76, (B)Guard, 10
Half-Elf, Gaylen, 8, 156, 80, (B)Archer, 9
Each of them had 8 Hit Points, over 100 stamina, and a little mana, though neither had a mage class. That probably meant they had at least a little intelligence then. Level 10 and 9 respectively, but each was still only a Basic Class.
As Adam came within 30 feet Jerrick called, “That’s close enough stranger. What brings you to the city of Ava?”
“I was hoping to sell this wagon and find out more about this place. I appeared near the cave down the road,” Adam said.
“Did you just arrive on Bounty?” the other guard, Gaylen asked.
“Bounty?” Adam asked confused.
“The name of the world your standing on is Bounty because it’s a Dungeon World,” Jerrick explained.
“Yes, I just arrived,” Adam answered.
“Do you know what happened to the owner of the Wagon?” Gaylen asked.
“Nope, I just found it by the cave. I figured there was a road there for some reason and decided to lead the ponies this way.”
“How’d you know there was a city this way? The Road at the cave goes two directions,” Gaylen asked.
“I have a mapping ability that showed me the town,” Adam lied. “Where there’s a town you can usually sell and buy things. I figured I could turn the wagon in for a finder’s fee or sell it if no one claimed it,” Adam explained.
“Well, that’s Delnar Flairjar’s Wagon,” Jerrick said.
“I just arrived in this world, I do not know a Delnar,” Which was technically true. He hadn’t known the gnome before he killed him.
“Do you have any credits?” Gaylen asks.
“Not many. I intended on selling the wagon. Why, is there an entry fee?”
“Is there an entry fee? Of course, there’s an entry fee. Credits or something of equal value are required to enter the city of Ava. Normally it’s 5 credits but as you’re bringing a wagon in for trade it’s 105 credits.
Adam checked his Shadow Vault and mentally perused a strong box in the vault that contained gold coins and the like. Pulling those out might be chancy. As he was about to respond Jerrick walked forward and said, “That’s fine, we’ll confiscate the wagon, it wasn’t yours anyway and we’ll get you a nice serf contract to work on one of the farms so you can earn enough money to enter the city.”
Gaylen also walked forward toward the ponies so that he could take control of them. Adam waited until they were close before he reached out both hands grabbing each by the arm and teleported both of them and himself back to the cave entrance to the Labyrinth.
As they appeared in front of the cave Jerrick reacted immediately as he pulled the pistol and tried to fire it at Adam, only to miss Adam as he stepped passed him. Making sure not to apply his full strength, Adam placed his foot against Jerrick’s back and kicked him through the open cave mouth. There was a screech, then Jerrick was gone through the portal just inside the lip of the cave mouth.
Gaylen had drawn his short sword and was stabbing it at Adam who casually reached up and caught the sword with his hand. Adam yanked the sword. If Gaylen had just let go of the sword he would have been okay, but he tried to hold on and was pulled forward off balance which Adam turned into a martial arts throw maneuver. Gaylen also flew into the cave mouth disappearing as he crossed the threshold of the cave mouth.
Adam teleported back to the ponies and the wagon. It had taken Adam about four hours to reach the city gate traveling at a leisurely pace so the guards should be able to make it back in about an hour if they hurried. Hopefully, he’d be done with what he needed to do by then. Adam picked up the reigns to the ponies and lead them through the open gate into an area that was a mix of old western buildings here toward the edge of the town and tall concrete and glass structures that resembled 20th-century skyscrapers, though they only had about 20 floors farther in. He’d seen the taller buildings when he’d flown above the trees but hadn’t thought they’d be so modern.
That wasn’t what drew his attention immediately though. 20 feet up the street and off to the left was a building with a sign on it that simply read, “The Shop”. Adam pulled the wagon up to it and hitched the ponies to a hitching post before he walked up a few wooden steps and walked through a swinging door.
“Welcome to the Shop, how can I help you today?” A gruff male voice asked from behind the counter off to his left.
Adam turned and found one of the largest orcs he’d ever run across looking at him before he said, “I found a wagon near the cave to the Labyrinth with a whole bunch of gear in it. I’m new to the area and need to pick up some credits or money, whatever you all use here. “
“Well, this is ‘The Shop’ and there are two ways to purchase or sell things in my store. I’m Barf by the way. No jokes please,” he said with a smile. “Anyway, you can sell things directly to me or you can go over to one of those rooms and sell directly to the System Market. As I pride myself on my honesty, you will get some better prices from the System Market than you will from me but that’s because I base my prices on supply and demand. I would suggest you sell the common items to the System market and then let me take a look at anything rarer you might have. I have a couple of people on a waiting list for specific items and I can guarantee at least 10% markup above the System Market price for you,” Barf stated proudly.
“Do you make any money on such deals?” Adam asked.
“At a minimum, I will make an extra 10% for you and 10% for me, though you know how it is, I may make a little more than 10% once in a while. It depends on the item.
“I like your honesty, let me go sell some stuff to the System Market. I’ll be right back,” Adam said and then walked over to the door, opened it, and stepped into the booth.
Welcome to the System Market, you will be transported to one of our agents momentarily.
A light flashes and Adam found himself in a small example room with a foxlike humanoid standing behind a counter. What was it about Fox-like proprietors? It seemed to be a trope or something. Then Adam had a thought…sneaky.
“Please stop pulling from my memories?” Adam called out to the fox-like humanoid. Aside from plagiarism, whatever this is will not be hiding behind constructs based on novels he’d read.
“Very well,” a voice called out and the room shifts slightly to a more futuristic setting. There were still display cases, but some have been replaced by monitors, and the creature behind the counter transformed into a 1-foot floating golden ball.
“I am Vendor 1X-A347. How may I help you today?”
“I have some items to appraise and sell as well as some purchases to make,” Adam said as he continued to look around.
“Are the items in a dimensional space?” The vendor asked.
“Yes, why?”
If you place your hand on the metal bump before you this System Market will link to your dimensional space and you will be able to sell the items you wish which will be removed from your inventory and transferred to the System Market immediately. Additionally, any items you wish to purchase will be added to your dimensional inventory,” The vendor explained.
Adam placed his hand on the metal bump on the counter before him that reminded him of a computer mouse and a menu appeared detailing all the items he had in his inventory as well as their purchase and sales prices appeared. It looked like the market was giving 60% of the listed sell price. Also, there was a third comparison line that showed the local sales price and purchase value for The Shop. Adam didn’t want to get bogged down with The Shop because he might have to explain where he picked up some of the items so he asked the Vendor, “If I sell to this System Market, do individuals in The Shop know what I’ve sold to you?”
If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
“No, sir! We take pride in our confidentiality. No items purchased by the System Market are put up for sale until noon of the next day. Also, all System Markets on the same planet are interlinked so there is no way to know where any single item was sold to us. You may of course return and purchase any item you have sold to a System Market within that first day but there is a 10% fee based on the value of the item for doing so.”
“Thank you,” Adam said as he chose all the items he’d taken from the wagon and sold everything except for the wagon. He would sell the wagon to The Shop so they wouldn’t feel left out. Adam accepted the sale and received 13,549 credits which were added to a category on his Status Screen. There was no physical representation of those credits.
With his hand still on the access point to the System Market, Adam dropped to his Mindspace and accelerated his frame of reference. He didn’t bother checking his Status Screen because he’d noticed that it was in a state of flux ever since he’d spent mana. He did focus his attention on his Soul Core for a moment and noticed that the Node that housed his Chaos Incarnate ability appeared as an open wound that was being directly fed by the mana coming in from the Astral Plane. If his hunch was right and the idea he had pulled from the novel he’d read so long ago was correct he should be able to help his acclimation and transformation for The System.
Adam withdrew his focus back into his Mindspace and began pulling up and pushing every memory for every skill he’d ever learned to the forefront of his mind and pushed that knowledge toward the access point to the System Market. What he was trying to do was get The System to acknowledge his utilization and familiarity with every single skill he’d learned. Because he knew so many skills, even before he’d come across abilities that gave him knowledge for free, Adam accelerated the passage of time in his Mindspace so that he could get more done in less time out in the real world.
The first skill he tried this with was something simple, a combat skill. He pulled the memories of his time practicing and using a quarterstaff to the forefront of his mind, willed a quarterstaff into existence, and began running through the forms and various training routines he’d developed. He started with the basics and eventually ended with the routines he’d come up with for when he was moving faster than his opponents. As he came to a stop and rested he checked his notifications.
Congratulations you have learned the skill Combat: Basic Staff Level 1. Each level in this skill increases your chance to hit and damage by 1% per level of this skill.
Congratulations you have increased the skill Combat: Basic Staff to Level 2. Chance to hit and damage increased by 2%
Congratulations you have increased the skill Combat: Basic Staff to Level 3. Chance to hit and damage increased by 3%
Adam quickly went through the notification and found that it maxed out at Level 100. As he reviewed the information he soon realized that skills had three tiers; Basic, Advanced, and Master. Each level increased the chance to hit and damage by 1% but the levels from each tier were cumulative. His last notification let him know what his total bonuses were with a quarterstaff.
Congratulations, you have reached Combat: Master Staff level 100. When using Staff weapons all chances to hit are increased by 300%. The base damage of all staff weapons wielded by you is increased by 300% though you may choose to do less damage or subduing damage if you desire.
Adam was very satisfied with the result and went to work. He went through every weapon he had been trained with as well as every skill he had ever come across. For the non-combat skills or those skills that were utilized instead of combat, like stealth, he pushed his memories of their use. Hour after hour of use until he achieved at least Basic level 100 in the skill. Most skills he was able to easily bring up to Master Level 100 but other knowledge-based skills The System only recognized, or only awarded up to Basic Level 100 and no advanced or master versions of those skills existed. Language skills were such an example.
In addition to his memories, he tried using memories from others that he’d absorbed. The System recognized them for what they were, and those skills only gained level 1. No matter how proficient the person whose memory he was showing was, he still only gained the initial level. The system seemed to understand the difference.
As Adam learned more and more skills, the classes that were available to him were unlocked as prerequisites were met. Additionally, every skill level he earned granted a 10 XP bonus. Adam kept at it until he was sure that he had as many skills unlocked as possible. When he was done he reviewed his available Basic and General classes.
With his hand still on the System Market Adam started reviewing the classes. Interestingly enough the classes consisted of both fantasy and modern 20th-century-type classes. Basic classes were separated into Tiers. Tier 1 Basic/General Classes consisted of Warriors, Scouts, Cooks, and the like. Tier 2 Basic/General Classes consisted of more educated or trained classes. Examples were Priests, Wizards, Sorcerers, Pilots, Lawyers, and the like. Tier 3 Basic/General Classes consisted of the cream of the crop classes like Doctors, Physicians, and Political Leaders, as well as specifically focused magic types. Examples of the last included Necromancers, Pyromancers, Technomancer, Summoners, and the like. There were also a couple of other types he’d never heard or thought of, though he could now choose every available class.
Adam thought for a moment then sent a query to the System Market for a book or equivalent instruction that might be the equivalent of a “Classes for Dummies” instruction and was happy to find “Scholar Grong’s Guide to the Legendary Class you want” for only 1,000 credits. Luckily the information in the guide could be downloaded directly into his brain, so he did so.
Adam paused for a moment as graphs and instructions on how to become specific Legendary classes flooded his mind. He realized immediately that Grong had not created a completely comprehensive work. Instead, he’d picked a couple of known Legendary classes and summed up the best way to achieve them. Paladin, Artillery Archer, and Pyroclastic Mage were the three classes he’d focused on.
With such a limited pool to look at, after seeing all the basic choices that were available to him, Adam knew that he’d be doing a lot of self-teaching though there was some very good information concerning the various Tiers of classes that were available. Simply put the higher the Tier, the more your class helped you grow. Tier 1 classes would have two attributes that gain 1 attribute per level as well as 2 free attributes you could put wherever you wanted. This was in addition to any class abilities or perks that you might get. Scouts and Rogues each gained the Stealth ability and the skill progressed twice as fast. Warriors could choose a specific weapon and their skill progress would be doubled. Each of the Tier 1 classes was like that.
Tier 2 classes had 4 fixed attribute points per level. Some attributes might be raised by 2, 3, or even 4 points. In addition, each level also granted 2 free points to be put wherever you wanted. They might also have an additional class ability that was unique to that class. A good example of an ability like that was Detect Magic that most mage-type classes could do, or divine strike that most priests and religious types could use.
Tier 3 classes were at another level altogether. 4 fixed attribute points per level as well as 4 free attributes were granted for a total of 8 attributes per level seemed to be the norm, but there were exceptions. Additionally, such classes had multiple abilities and could contain specialized skills that no other classes could have, at least at the start.
One of the reasons Adam wanted to get all the skills he knew verified by the system was because he had a feeling he’d need them to pick up a good basic class that would allow him to take full advantage of The System and its class system.
Adam reviewed the Tier 3 list of classes that were available to him. The first thing he did was sort by rarity. There was a Class listed that pulled a name from his history. It couldn’t be the same, but he recognized the name, Paladins of Ao. He didn’t want to be beholden to anyone, so he discounted it right away. Other classes listed were; Temporal Dabbler, Career Politician, Multi-role Ace Pilot, Technomancer, and finally something that caught his attention immediately, Agent of Chaos.
Adam pulled up the information and read it.
Tier 3 Basic Class: Agent of Chaos
This Class is only available to those that show an affinity for Chaos.
Class Goals: None
Special Class Abilities: None
Attribute Gain per level: 11 Attribute Points, 1 to each attribute.
An Agent of Chaos follows no set path. Their very existence questions the normal order of The System and acts as a safety valve for any Order Based system. Every System needs to let loose once in a while much like a water heater that has started to over-pressurize. Some steam needs to be let off through a safety valve. Agents of Chaos are that safety value. As such, Agents of Chaos may be masters of physical prowess or magical arch-mages. They do not have any specific abilities but can mimic any ability they know of. Examples would be a Rogues Stealth ability or a Healers Lay on Hands ability to heal others. The power drawn on is from Chaos itself and does not involve any higher powers, as far as this author of this note knows.
Be Warned, choosing this Class, while a part of The System, sets you apart from it. This class is very versatile though it does not excel in any specific role, Tank, Damage Dealer, Healer, Scouting, or Support. Anyone thinking about choosing this class should think long and hard about doing so.
Adam thought about it for all of a second then chose Agent of Chaos as his Basic Class.
Congratulations, You have chosen Agent of Chaos. Note, Banked experience exceeds level 50 requirements. Levels 1 through 25 achieved. Would you like to pick your advanced class or continue leveling your Basic Class?
Adam chose to continue leveling his Basic Class until he reached level 50.
Congratulations, you have reached Level 50 as an Agent of Chaos. Advanced Class progression for an Agent of Chaos only has three possible progressions: Chaos Mage, Force of Chaos, and Envoy of Chaos.
The Class Chaos Magus focuses on the use of magic of all types. Perception, Intelligence, Wisdom, Willpower, and Charisma are increased by 2 per class level. All other attributes are increased by 1. Additionally, Mana regeneration is increased by 1 mana per second per Class Level of Chaos Magus
The Class Force of Chaos focuses on physical combat methods. Strength, Agility Dexterity, Endurance, and Constitution are increased by 2 per class level. All other attributes are increased by 1. Additionally, Stamina regeneration is increased by 1 stamina per second per Class Level of Force of Chaos.
The Class Envoy of Chaos focuses on what it means to be chaotic. A New Attribute is added to your Status Screen, Chaos. This attribute would be added regardless once you attained a master class. The Envoy of Chaos gains access to this Attribute as part of their Advanced Class. All attributes are increased by 1 per class level except for Chaos which is increased by 5 per class level.
Envoy of Chaos, special feature, Attribute “Chaos.” The Attribute of “Chaos” ties directly to the attribute of luck. Depending on how lucky you are that luck can provoke a chaotic outcome to events in your direct vicinity. So long as your luck attribute is higher than your Chaos attribute 99.9% of the time chaotic events will be beneficial to you. Should your Luck Attribute be less than your Chaos Attribute the chaotic event will be detrimental to you or those near you.
Individuals that choose the Class Envoy of Chaos choose to allow chaotic events to become the fulcrum of their destiny. What this may entail, how things may turn out, or what your destiny may become will be forcefully randomized as you will have a Chaos attribute of at least 125 if you chose to evolve to your master class at level 25. If you chose to remain an Envoy of Chaos to level 50, your chaos Attribute will increase to 250. Very few individuals will have a luck attribute equal to or greater than the Chaos Attribute this class fuels.
Adam thought about it for a moment then chose Envoy of Chaos. It just sounded like a fun class to have.
Congratulations, you have reached Level 50 as an Envoy of Chaos. Master Class progression for an Envoy of Chaos only has one possible progression: Ambassador of Chaos.
Ambassadors of Chaos continue as you desire, be that along with physical prowess or magical. All attributes are increased by 2 per level, including Chaos. Additionally Order based spells and magic have less effect on you. All damage from such sources is reduced by 2% per class level. At Class level 50 you are immune to such spells. Those that focus on the magical sphere of “Order” may be able to pierce this resistance but normal mages and the like will find their spells that rely on order-based magic failing.
The System has noted that you have the experience to progress into your Heroic and Legendary Classes. To do so you must first complete a Heroic Quest. As you have not even been a member of the System for a day at this point an administrative block has been placed on the acquisition of this quest for one full year.
New Quest.
Survive for one full year as an Ambassador of Chaos to be granted a Heroic Quest.
Adam looked at the two lines, then looked around his Mindspace. Well, he had been wondering how long it would take the System to react to his shenanigans. With a quick check of his Status Screen, he noted that his Class was listed as “(M) Ambassador of Chaos”. Nice. It also showed his basic class and his Advance class if he focused on it but the only class that showed was the Ambassador one. If anyone could break through to see his class, that was going to throw them for a loop.
Adam withdrew from his Mindspace and lifted his hand off the counter. He checked the time and noted that about 45 minutes had passed. It seemed that he had still lost some time out here in the real world while he was picking his class. He turned and exited the small room to find Barf waiting for him.
“While you were in there, I took the liberty of checking over the wagon and the ponies. I can give you 25 credits for each pony and 100 credits for the wagon. Normally it would only be worth 10 credits but it does have that small dimensional storage,” Barf said with a smile.
“Sounds good, she’s all yours for 150 credits Barf,” Adam said as he stuck out his hand, they shook, and a notification appeared in his vision.
You have sold two ponies and a small covered wagon to Barf for 150 credits.
Adam dismissed the notification as the front doors to the shop burst open.
“You hold it right there!” the human guard Jerrick commanded with his sword drawn.
“Okay,” Adam answered politely.
Jerrick looked taken aback for a moment before he continued, “By the powers vested in me by Queen Ava you are under arrest for assaulting her Majesty’s guards!”
“Well, if you say so. Do I get a trial?”
“Do you get a trial?” Gaylen parroted as he walked up and clamped a ring of metal around Adam’s neck. Adam felt the ring try to shut down his magical abilities but as before, his Astral Link bypassed such magics altogether. Gaylen continued, “No you don’t get a trial. You get to go to jail and then you get to go out to the fields and work off your entry fee and the fines you accrued for assaulting us.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about, I didn’t assault you”
“Did you use magic to teleport us to the entrance of the Labyrinth?” Gaylen asked heatedly.
“I can see that I’m not going to convince you. Barf, thanks for the business. Looks like I’m going with these two fine gentlemen,” Adam said.
Barf just looked back with a weak smile and nodded.
Jerrick grabbed him by the arm and led him out of the shop and around a corner into an alley.
“You mages think you’re so smart,” Gaylen said as he pulled a dagger, and tried to stab it into Adam’s kidney. Adam was pleasantly surprised when the dagger shattered against his skin as he reached up and squeezed Gaylen’s wrist, which was trying to hold him by the back of the neck. He didn’t squeeze his wrist enough to damage him but he did squeeze hard enough to make it painful which caused Gaylen to release his grasp on Adam.
“I was willing to go to your jail because I did teleport you to the Labyrinth. I was even willing to pay a fine because I made you both run back here. What I’m not willing to do…
Jerrick swung his longsword in a strike meant to decapitate Adam. The blade hit Adam’s neck and shattered. Adam still couldn’t read his attributes on his Status Screen but if he didn’t know better he was pretty sure that his attributes were back to where they’d been before The System had tried to adjust him again. Jerrick looked at the hilt of his blade in horror before he muttered, “What are you?”
“That’s the question isn’t it?” Adam asked as he reached up, snapped the ring that had been placed around his neck to dampen his strength and abilities, and looked at the two guards before he asked, “So now what?”
“You’re not going to kill us,” Gaylen asked as he started looking around for an escape route.
“First, no. Second, if you run I will teleport you so far away from here that it will take you a year to get back,” Adam said with an evil grin.
Jerrick looked at Adam and then asked, “What do you want?”
“Well, I need a pass to enter the city. Also, I need this little altercation to have never happened. Additionally, I might be inclined to tip anyone willing to help me meet those goals,” Adam said.
“How much of a tip are we talking about?” Jerrick asked.
“100 credits for each of you,” Adam said.
“Why didn’t you start with that when we met,” Gaylen asked, still wary.
“Because I didn’t have the credits, now I do. What’s it going to be?” Adam asked.
“5 Credits for the pass and the tips of course,” Jerrick said.
“No 100 credits for the wagon?” Adam asked.
“I don’t see a wagon that belongs to you anywhere near here, do you?” Jerrick asked.
Adam smiled and transferred 105 credits to Jerrick and 100 credits to Gaylen, “It was nice doing business with you.”
“You as well, Also, I hope I never see you again, “Jerrick said as left the alley while Jerrick followed quickly.
Adam could have dealt with them permanently, but he didn’t see the point. He activated Obscure then flew up to the roof and found a place he could teleport to that would be out of sight. After he committed the spot to memory Adam teleported back to the clearing that held the cave mouth to the Labyrinth. It was time to go into the Labyrinth and see what the classes he’d picked up had done to him as well as test the changes to his abilities. Better to do that inside the Labyrinth than inside a city with a lot of people in it. Truthfully, he was kind of looking forward to letting loose. Who knew, maybe his Status Screen would start working again. It was hard to gauge what he could do when his attributes weren’t visible.
