"'A new quest? If I don't complete it I'll get a penalty?' Klyde thought. 'It says kill 10 slime, it can't be that difficult. I should check if its on the guild quests too."
Right as he was about to get up, a girl with blond hair and a staff on her back walked up to him.
"Hi there. My name is Emily, nice to meet you." The girl said.
"Hi, I'm Klyde, nice to meet you too." Klyde responded and smiled.
"That's an interesting book ya got there. If I'm not wrong, that book is called The book of the world."
"The book of the world?"
"Yeah, it has a gold emblem like that one and they're pretty rare and expensive. Over 1000 gold if I'm not mistaken. They contain basic and hidden knowledge about our world. Where'd you get it?"
"In a… uh…."
"Can't say? I understand. Though you better keep a good eye on it. People can kill for that thing."
Klyde realized he's in a room full of powerful people that may want this book and he got worried as he is only a level 1.
He looked around and saw that no one was paying attention to him. Though he couldn't be sure whether anyone noticed it or not.
"Thats a bit worrying, hehe…" He stood up. "I'm going to go do some quests then."
"Okay, good luck." she gave Klyde a thumbs up.
Klyde stood up and walked to the board where quests are placed. He scanned the board for a while and he finally found a slime quest.

It wasn't 10 like on his system but it would do for him. He took the quest paper and brought it to Aella. "I'd like take do this quest please." Klyde said.
"Okay then, just make sure to complete it today." Aella said.
"Okay." Klyde then left the guild. Right as he left a man with short red hair and a wand left shortly him.
Klyde decides that he would first go to a weapons shop first to get a weapon. He entered the store and found an assortment of weaponry. Something else he was was that there were not only humans, but elves in the store as well.
'There's elves too in this world? Well I'm kinda not surprised. God, I wanna make my own harem…' Klyde though. "I should focus on getting a weapon though. This suit does provide some protection and increases my agility and strength so no armor. So I should just buy a melee weapon."
Klyde started looking around for a weapon that he liked that's well in his non-existent budget. He saw a basic steel sword and picked it up.
"This costs 1 silver. I have the equivalent of 50 gold so it should be a problem." He then took it to pay, and waiting there a bald, muscular man with a black beard.
"I'd like to buy this please." Klyde placed the sword on the counter.
"First guild quest?" The man asked. "You look like a young one."
"Yes, it's for my quest." Klyde answers.
"Well, the sword will be 1 silver coin."
"One sec." Klyde looked in his pouch and took out a silver coin and handed it to the man.
The man took the coin and gave him the sword. "Be careful out there."
"Thanks, I will." Kyde left the store and started going to the town gates. Oh his way he made sure to continue reading his book. This time the monster section, specifically about slimes.
[Slimes]
Slimes are round monsters made out of slime. They typically live in forests and some at border settlements. They can eat anything and if left unchecked can grow big enough to become a serious problem.
Slimes come in different types, green, blue and elemental.
Green slimes are about the size of a persons head. They are weak level 1 monsters that don't have means of defense and can be easily killed. Their cores can be used to craft weaponry around the same strength as steel. They are suitable replacements for areas where metals are hard to come by though a large quantity is required.
Blue slimes are two times bigger than green slimes. This type can grow to the size of a building. These can fight back and are usually level 5-10. Their cores are slightly stronger than steel but are usually not worth the hassle.
Elemental slimes are the same size as blue slimes but are more dangerous. Depending on the element they are can use magic corresponding to it. They are typically level 20-40 but some can be level 50. Their cores can be used to make basic element resistance armour depending on the core.
Klyde finally reached the town gates. There he found the same two guards at the gate.
"Oh, it's you again. Leaving so soon?" Asked Clawd.
"Actually I'm heading off to do a quest."Klyde responded, "It'll be returning once I'm done."
"Well, you sure like reading while walking." Said Leon, "You're free to pass."
Klyde waved at them as he left the town. "Now it said blue slimes cores. And the system didn't specify which type on slime so I'm guessing it'll be any kind. I should have gotten a bag or something, carrying this stuff will be a hassle."
Though the area was mostly plains there was some forest nearby. He decided to head off in the direction on the forest.
"There's a decent amount of wildlife in these plains, and they don't look hostile. I'm guessing the hostiles are in that forest."
As Klyde arrived at the forest he hid his book in a bush and proceed to enter the forest. He put his rist out and a holographic screen appeared. He tapped a button on it and blue, glowing likes spread across his suit.

"Mh? So the system shows me if I've been enhanced or something is done to effect me, good."
Suddenly a blue wolf jumps out of nowhere to attack him but he quickly dodges. Apon closer inspection the wolf had red eyes and red stripes, it's claws made out of metal.
"A wolf? Well I don't know what level it is but it looks strong. But I see no other way around this."
