The Manual Hall

"I will go and find something that suits me, you do you," Peter says and goes his separate ways leaving Brax on his own, which Brax appreciated.

Right now, the only thing he cares about is the cultivation manuals. With anticipation on his face, Brax makes his way towards the aisle where the basic manuals are kept.

Other than the normal cultivation manual, there are other manuals that a cultivator would be interested in, such as a martial arts manual. Manuals that are based on attack, defense, and movements.

Just like Brax thought, this place is a treasure trove for him as it will be the foundation for his growth.

Soon he arrives in front of the aisle where the basic cultivation techniques are kept. The aisle is pretty small compared to what he had expected as there are only a few basic Qi breathing techniques on the shelves.

He expected there to be hundreds, but they only numbered in 10s. Brax sighed but was not disappointed. He didn't need many, as he only needed to look through some of them and understand the basic concepts.

The reason there are so few basic level Qi breathing techniques is that many disciples are not interested in them. The sect provides it to mortals who have no background and have just joined the sect, similar to the previous Brax.

If you are a cultivator for a great family or clan, you already have a better breathing technique in hand and won't bother cultivating with the basic ones provided by the sect.

And even the sect doesn't bother getting new basic breathing techniques and mass circulates these few techniques amongst hundreds and thousands of outer disciples to weed out the bad ones.

If you are talented, no matter how basic the breathing technique you have, you will be able to acquire a better one. While the ones who aren't talented will be stuck trying to break through.

And without strength, you cannot earn money in the cultivation world. The talentless ones will be stuck in their cultivation and struggle to grow, while the ones with talent will break through, become stronger, and earn money with the help of their newfound strength.

The Qi breathing techniques that are displayed here on the shelves are just copies for disciples to browse through and find something that suits them. And when they find something that they like, they can make a request for it at the counter where they will have to pay with spirit stones to acquire a legit copy.

Brax doesn't need to buy shit because he can memorize anything with just a glance.

He starts by picking up a basic Qi breathing manual and starts flipping through the pages, memorizing all of them with just a glance.

With the first manual finished, he puts it back and picks the next one. He does this to every Qi breathing technique manual, but his actions don't stand out because he is not the only one doing so.

There are many outer sect disciples on other aisles doing the same but for martial arts techniques. The basic Qi breathing technique aisle only has Brax as he is the only one interested in them. Other outer sect disciples don't bother changing their breathing technique at this level. They just stick with one and try to build around it by practicing different martial arts techniques.

It didn't take Brax much time to go through all the Qi breathing technique manuals. He has them stored in his mind for good. He will never forget them.

But even after going through all of them, he is not impressed. "I will try to analyze them once I get back," he murmurs to himself and decides to check out other things.

Martial arts techniques are something Brax didn't bother with till now, but from his memories, he knows that these things are important as they are essential to one's strength.

He walks up to one of the aisles, which is packed with outer sect disciples who are trying to find a suitable martial arts technique for themselves.

Unlike Qi breathing techniques, there are some martial arts techniques better than the basic level ones on this floor.

Every technique related to cultivation has levels to it, them being:

[Basic Level

Intermediate Level

Advance Level

Elite Level

Terra Level

Caelum Level

Stellar Level

Divine Level]

Brax understands why only Basic Qi breathing techniques are available on the first floor because breathing techniques are quite scarce and hard to come by.

Having an intermediate-level breathing technique will allow someone to start a small clan of hundreds of members.

A strong clan's foundation is built upon an Advanced level Qi breathing technique, where the core members of the clan are allowed to practice it.

Some of the strongest clans and sects in Dharian Country only have Elite-level breathing techniques at hand. Even the emperor of this country practices an Elite-level Qi breathing technique.

Qi breathing technique of Terra level and above are just treasures that a country is willing to go to war for.

But as for martial arts techniques, they are not as rare because it is much easier to develop compared to a breathing technique.

There are a few intermediate-level martial arts techniques available on the first floor, but it will cost a fortune for an outer disciple to get their hands on them. But Brax doesn't have to worry about it. He just needs to browse and memorize it in an instant.

With curiosity, he picks up a basic level martial arts technique and starts looking through it.

The aisle he is in right now is dedicated to fire-type martial arts techniques, so everything is fire-related.

As he goes through the martial arts technique, a deep frown appears on his face 'This can't be real?' he questions in his mind.

He puts the manual back, takes out another one from the shelf, and starts going through it, but this one is also no different from the previous one.

Disappointed by the techniques, he decided to move on to the intermediate one to see if it was any different.

He then walks up to an outer sect disciple who is currently holding onto an intermediate-level martial arts technique, flipping through its pages very slowly.

As a fourth-stage Qi condensing cultivator, Brax can tell that this outer sect disciple is very strong.

"Senior brother, can I have a look at that technique?" Brax asks as respectfully as he can.

The outer sect disciple suddenly stops looking at the manual and turns his head toward Brax with a frown.

"A fourth-stage junior has the audacity to ask me something? Do you want to die? I am feeling merciful today, so fuck off before you offend me anymore," he snaps at Brax.

Brax just glares at the disciple before turning his back and walking away. Brax is a prideful man, but he is not stupid.

He doesn't have the influence or strength to fight back right now, but he will remember. Brax never forgets a face. He is going to teach this bastard a lesson one day.

Some of the other disciples witnessed the scene and felt Brax was lucky to get off easy because this particular disciple is known to be ruthless and likes to hurt his juniors.

Brax knowing nothing about the situation he just dodged, walks towards another aisle to search for an intermediate-level martial arts technique to study.
