So, It all started with a bang.

My stupid parachute failed to open as I was diving, It was supposed to be automatic, and once the automatic failed to go off, I quickly pulled the backup string and it snapped straight off. Shoddy workmanship, especially from the company I was promised was the "best of the best".

I started to panic instantly, waving my arms and legs around, but after a few seconds, realised that with my arms locked at the guitar as they were, there wasn't much option but to pray for the automatic to kick in.

Making what little peace that I could with it, I decided to give the greatest, and hopefully not the last show of my life.

So I didn't mention, that I was an up-and-coming Rock star, I feel like I was on top of the world, but needed something big to make my career stand out. Skydiving into the Superbowl halftime show was supposed to be my big break.

Shredding my custom handmade guitar as I fall through the air, I absolutely nailed the solo, it was like a beautiful moment of zen peace. Unfortunately, it had a completely unexpected finale. At least I will go down in some sort of hall of fame, no music star will be replicating That!

The crowd sure won't ever forget that ending.

No doubt someone somewhere was painfully agonizing over it, All these things were supposed to be triple-checked over for me, my job was just to jump and play some amazing guitar.

Personally, I barely felt a thing.

It’s a bit strange that I can still think about it while I sort of... float? Here?

As I look down then up then around I realise I don't really have a body, so there isn't really anything to float as it was anyway.

All I see is nothing stretching into the distance, did you ever stop to think what infinite nothing in all directions looks like, Personally before this experience, there is no way I would have ever been able to describe it, but now it just looks like, nothing. I would have thought It would just look black, but nope it has its own look. Completely indescribable.

I hover slowly around a bit, not really doing much. Thinking to myself I wonder, is this it? Did I end up in some sort of dreaful purgatory? If this is all there is I don’t think I will last too long, I need interaction, I need to move, I need music!

I think I can see something in the distance, either that or I have been staring so long I am starting to imagine things.

Yep definitely can see something.

It might be getting bigger? It's hard to tell how big it is or how far it is at all.

Before I know it, I am looking at some sort of brown glowing mosaic. I am sure there is more to whatever it is, if I try and see the whole picture of what it is, my brain seems to just make a mess of colour.

It reminds me of one of those AI-generated images, as a whole, It looks like some sort of man, but when I focus on anything, there is no detail that matches up with what I expect to see, it's anything but clear.

It grows, or is it comes towards me? Until It takes up half my vision and then stops.

“So, I guess it's over?” I say to the glowing man/god creature.

“Hmm? A little human? It's not often I get a human in the realm of rock. You must have done something odd to reach here” It answered.

I started to get a little nervous about that answer, Surely an all-knowing god would know what I am doing here? but his response doesn’t exactly inspire me.

“Yeah you could say I did something pretty impressive that will live down in Rock history,” I say.

“Let me check.... oh I guess you definitely did leave an impact on rock,” he said to me.

“So uh, do I go to heaven or something now?” I enquire

The glow is looking in front of itself and mumbles to itself “hmm no won't do, need something active, something that isn't void at the moment, ah I know that one looks perfect” It turns to me and asks “Are ready to rock?”

I smile back, looks like it’s going to be a good afterlife after all “Rock and roll!” I yell.

The next thing I know everything starts to fade out, first, the glow disappears, then the sound, or lack of, and finally all my vision completely.
