Ch5 Realms

Realms are considered to be remnants of the pocket space of a higher cultivator. For example, once a cultivator at an extremely high-level dies, the space he controls becomes unstable leading to the chance of it becoming a Realm. A Realm is just a fancy way of saying ‘a portal to a pocket space’.

Usually that pocket space is owned by people of higher cultivation, but there are exceptions. Some Realms are very secluded and not in a location you would expect at all. As the Realm itself doesn’t give off any specific signals, it’s up to luck to find one. In fact, you could just be walking narrow valley and chance across a Realm.

The problem is that most Realms are used by cultivators with a cultivation above Oceanic Spirit usually. This makes it very dangerous if a lower-level cultivator stumbles into their abode. They most likely have set up formations that would trigger at the cultivator’s arrival, turning them into dust.

However, once you find a Realm it is not hard to tell what level of cultivator owns the abode if you use a spirit energy reading device. This way cultivators could avoid wandering into the abode of a Condensed Spirit Cultivator.

As Magnus made his way to the group, the group of said people were discussing him.

A male cultivator that was obviously a female cultivator looked at the news she received about the person who happened to come across the realm at the same time as them.

“Hmm, this person is a bit difficult.” The male cultivator who was obviously a female cultivator stated.

In cultivation sects there are Rising Dragon and Hidden Demon lists. This is to ensure that people know who to offend and who not to offend better. Even though it was originally made for this purpose, the elders of the respective sects encouraged this practice as it showed them the most talented of cultivators in the sect. This led to a situation were getting on the list was a must to be acknowledged by higher cultivators.

Magnus, of the Li generation, one of the top disciples once he joined the sect. Even though he was very strong and had a few standout moments, he doesn’t show off his strength that often. However, even so, he managed to get 1st place on the Hidden Demon list that his fellow sect disciples made. This made people wonder what his full strength really was. The only encounter that he had where he was pushed a bit was when a disciple of one peak fought him over a spirit herb.

In that fight, even though Magnus had a cultivation significantly lower than the other cultivator, he displayed an exquisite use of his spirit energy allowing him to come out top with his many bizarre techniques.

While the cultivator that was dressed like a man but was obviously a woman was pondering over this information she gathered, the others didn’t seem to care much.

“So what? It’s not like we’re going to fight each other anyway. Theoretically, if your reading was right, there should be plenty of blood pools to go around correct?” Fatty Bo pointed out, completely unbothered by this situation. His other three brothers reacted much the same way.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

“There will be a fight soon if he doesn’t get here already. I have been waiting for 15 minutes. I am wasting precious cultivation time. I just want to get in and go.” A popular body building cultivator, Eon, stated with his ripped muscles protruding from his robe that he always wore.

This was only more of the chatty cultivators that said things. There were still three more cultivators that were silent nearby with the group. One person was wearing a purple robe and gave off a gloomy feeling, another had a sword strapped to their back and was calmly leaning against the only tree in the rocky landscape. The last person was dozing off nonchalantly, seemingly not very afraid if anyone would attack him.

Just a few moments later, Magnus suddenly appeared from the ground, creeping the body cultivator out. Suddenly, the body cultivator wasn’t ferocious anymore as he couldn’t even feel the approach of Magnus. If Magnus were to appear from behind him….

“Alright, since everyone is now here, I shall open the realm. Good luck to you all.” The male cultivator that was obviously a female cultivator, Er Zi, stated as she tore the talisman her master gave.

The four brothers and the female cultivator entered immediately with everyone following afterward. Magnus came in last to set up his back-up plans. Before he entered the realm, Magnus remembered to paste a talisman outside. Then suddenly paused, considered something, and put a second talisman behind a rock. Magnus then made his way in, escaping the desert heat.

As Magnus entered, he noticed that what surrounded him were cave entrances. It looked especially eerie with the cave having a brownish-red hue. As if blood seeped into the cave for a long period of time, submerging the rocks, and slowly eroding them with blood.

Magnus made sure to put a talisman at the entrance and looked for a cave to enter. Some people had already impatiently entered a cave, but it was labeled if they entered it or not, so Magnus was able to avoid an awkward situation. As Magnus walked through the cave the first thing he noticed was that it was quiet. Too quiet.

‘Did the cultivator who once owned this place not own any pets? Surely there would be a few that might have survived to this point by eating any herbs the owner may have planted in here? I suppose someone else would encounter those problems.’ Magnus pondered as he moved down the vast tunnel. Suddenly, Magnus crouched against a rock and stayed still.

A few moments later, footsteps could be heard.

“I thought I smelled someone.” An old, scratchy sounding voice could be heard. With that voice, a scent of sulfur was carried that stung the sinuses of Magnus.

The monster soon appeared in front of Magnus as it passed the rock with an inquisitive stare. Magnus saw that it looked like a smoldering human made of glass. It was truly an odd creature. Glass on fire. The monster was clearly wondering where the human cultivator it smelled went. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t have the chance to figure that out.

Magnus immediately sprang up and threw out a water talisman. This was a talisman that was imbued with water spirit energy. This allowed Magnus to weaken the Glass-fire-like monster. Immediately after, Magnus slashed at him with his saber, easily shattering the monster.

Soon, Magnus realized what that monster really was. It was a demon. Demons and monsters could be distinguished from each other by the way they perished. Demons would usually leave behind almost nothing when they perished if they were at a low cultivation level. On the other hand, monsters tended to leave behind some ingredients that could be used for either cultivation or professions.

Magnus realized that after this encounter, it wouldn’t be so simple as getting in the blood pool and getting out. This might be an inheritance site. If so, then what awaited him ahead was trials that were unpredictable. Magnus was ready though. After all, his preparations weren’t for nothing.
