Ch 4 Bloodlines
Once a cultivator has reached the 8th level of Spirit Gathering they are able to awaken their bloodline. For most cultivators, they end up having a diluted bloodline, in which case they would need to find a specific bloodline that is compatible with theirs and implant it. The problem with this method is the number of resources used to obtain a specific bloodline that is compatible, much less awaken one.
Not to mention, bloodlines are exceedingly complex and require in depth knowledge to advance. They require knowledge of how to safely simulate their bloodline and prevent being corroded by the bloodline as much as possible. Just the process of awakening the bloodline requires the blood to be nurtured in the Spirit Gathering center located in the solar plexus area. In this case, Magnus was very lucky indeed. His family has a record of the bloodline and his family history of how they safely simulated his bloodline.
Magnus was looking to awaken his bloodline; he just needed the resources to do so. Luckily, he stumbled across a realm that would give resources for bloodline awakening. It would open soon, although he may miss the outer sect spirit gathering sect competition. It wasn’t the biggest deal to him anyway. Best to be low key sometimes anyway.
In preparation for that, Magnus was practicing his saber skills and an earth sensing technique. This helped Magnus not be taken off guard again by the spirit beasts that popped up from the ground.
Magnus proceeded to practice his saber. Stabbing, cutting, and chopping. There was only a dull and monotonous rhythm to what he was practicing. When Magnus was bored of practicing his saber arts, he then used the earth sensing technique to become more proficient in it.
Within a week, Magnus felt that he was more prepared for meeting up with the other people who happened to stumble across the realm at the same time as him. Before leaving though, Magnus decided to pick up some blank talisman papers to have a back up plan.
Recently, Magnus has felt he’s gotten the grasp of carving talisman symbols into the landscape to cause an explosion. This is the talisman formation that Magnus used when he was underground with the porcupine and ‘gentleman’ snail. By using talisman paper Magnus could increase the power of the explosion formation he has gotten so good at making.
Naturally, Magnus had a few more aces as entering a realm with strangers is really dangerous. Luckily Magnus is confident he could kill them all if it comes to it.
As Magnus finished forming his back-up plan and super back-up plan he decided to go ahead and get the resources he would need for the talisman formation. First though, Magnus checked the time and made sure it was noon.
‘Alright, I should not run into her right?’ Magnus was a bit worried and unsure if he would have to deal with the ‘trouble’ he created.

Magnus had just joined the sect, and although they had a system that prevented newer disciples from getting bullied and pushed around by the older ones, there are ways to work around this system. A simple way to do so, is to forcibly increase someone’s realm. If they agree, no one will say anything. After all, if your so stupid that you cripple your path in cultivation like that, ultimately, you are nothing.
Naturally, the older cultivators offer ‘benefits’ to rookies that take up that stupid offer. Someone is always dumb enough to take it. This time though, it was someone with a bit of talent. This lead to a situation where he crippled his foundation to achieve the 9th level of Spirit Gathering. With this strength, he bullied any new disciples that his seniors didn’t like. Unfortunately, one senior told him to go after Magnus. That was his end.
Magnus at the time hadn’t practiced many offensive techniques, just a few basic ones like fireball, lightning, and light. He had practiced quite a few defensive techniques and escape techniques though. This lead to Magnus being untouchable even though he was only at the 3rd level of Spirit Gathering.
After fighting Magnus, the stupid disciple lost badly. He wasn’t even able to touch the toes of Magnus as he was bombarded with fireballs and lightning every time he tried to attack Magnus but failed. Anyone that was spectating remembers the sight.
“Got-“ *BAM* “Wa-“ *Crunch* *Smack *Pow*
It was a very odd sight to see and hear two different things happening. A few older cultivators realized that Magnus was pulling some special technique to confuse the senses of the stupid disciple. This lead to them looking at Magnus with shock and awe.
Even though Magnus made it look like beating the stupid disciple was easy, it was anything but easy. Even though he had an unstable foundation, he was still someone in the 9th level of Spirit Gathering. This made it so his spirit energy consumption was way less than Magnus. This meant that if the stupid cultivator wasn’t oppressed so heavily, he could just simply barrage most cultivators with spells, and they wouldn’t be able to do anything.
In fact, this is how the stupid cultivator won his fights. A very crude fighting style. Magnus ended up letting him off with a warning and the nickname, ‘stupid disciple’.
It didn’t end there, however, as he would go on to bully a fellow disciple under his peak that he knew. Even though Magnus doesn’t care much about other people, he sees the people in his peak as the people that he will end up cooperating with the most if anything happens to the sect.
Magnus was pissed after that happened and proceeded to completely destroy him in front of a gathering crowd, then hang him naked to a stake in front of Dusk Pillar Peak. Although his ‘backers’ were angry that happened, they were nothing compared to Magnus and his potential so the leader of Dusk Pillar Peak, Magnus’s master, ended up using some ink to write that he approved of this on the stupid disciple’s bare chest.
As for the female disciple, she became a bit obsessed with Magnus after the fact. It didn’t help that her background turned out to be quite good, which lead to her being able to pester Magnus constantly. Magnus didn’t hate it since she told him new about the sect whenever she stopped him to chat. The problem is that it affected his cultivation time and Magnus hated that. This led to him trying to avoid her.
The biggest effect of this whole incident was that

As Magnus made his way to a talisman store, he ended up avoiding her luckily. Magnus knew he couldn’t avoid her when he came back most likely, but Magnus just didn’t want her to ask where he was going or to possibly follow him. After all, she wasn’t that strong and only liked to act tough.
After Magnus picked up a wooden carving and a few blank talisman papers, he made his way out of the sect once again.
