Ch 6 Trials and Blood Pool
Slowly, the landscape warped and formed a golden palace that overlooked millions of ordinary citizens and cultivators alike, living their lives.
“Why must they all die?” A voice that seemingly spanned several centuries sounded.
“It’s a choice any would make, for immortality. To become an immortal.” A sinister old voice sounded out.
“Violence isn’t the answer to everything. Just because you become an immortal, doesn’t mean you can take revenge on what caused this.” The voice continued to speak clearly and concisely.
“With no one being crazy enough to do this, the immortals won’t take the sins that they have committed seriously. They defend him? For what? The tragedies he’s caused, the prodigies he has wiped, the bloodshed that will never end. This hatred shall not perish in my generation. Even if you stop me, my bloodline will continue. They will kill him.” The raspy voice croaked, sounding as if they are on their deathbed.
“Then let the revenge be taken. I just don’t want it to be like this… This way you may have doomed your future generations. That man is not someone that can be taken out.” The voice cautioned.
“KEKEKA. I have more tricks that you could ev-“A silence spread out as the raspy voice ceased to exist.
As Magnus returned to reality he was extremely confused and terrified. ‘This is a bit more advanced of a bloodline ruin than I could ever imagine. No wonder why the others didn’t have their elders awaken them. They probably couldn’t bring out this effect.’
At this moment Magnus doubted whether he was destined to be low-key in the long run. He had already ended up wandering somewhere far more effective than he ever expected. After all, while he saw that ‘presentation’ his bloodline that was still shackled was seething. It gave him an ominous feeling about his future.
Magnus decided to ignore what happened for the time being. It wouldn’t do him any good to ponder over something as someone in the lowest cultivation realm. Even if anything that happens is related to him, there’s nothing he can do.
As Magnus continued forward he met the first ‘trial’. It was a trial of heart. It didn’t turn out to be very difficult as it was just someone asking nonsensical questions that Magnus hasn’t even considered yet.
After the ‘heart’ trial Magnus came up to a blood pool. It’s a bloodline awakening pool. Telling the difference between the bloodline awakening pool and any other pool is simple. A bloodline awakening pool has no smell while a regular blood pool has a weird smell to it.
As Magnus approached the blood pool, his blood started to surge. He felt as if he had been fighting for hours at a hot volcano. It was becoming so bad that Magnus was starting to get the worst headache.
‘So, this is my bloodline? Is it related to magma or fire?’ Magnus wondered. It was honestly up to interpretation because a volcano represents heat. So for sure, his bloodline has something to do with heat.
Magnus didn’t delay his power boost any further, he immediately jumped into the pool to activate his bloodline.
When Magnus jumped into the blood pool his organs immediately felt like they were getting roasted alive. No part of his body was safe. Every single crevice was getting the scorch treatment. It was quite brutal honestly.

Magnus was prepared though, he made sure to pop a talisman in his mouth that he especially designed to save his pride. A ‘sticky’ talisman. This ensured that he couldn’t open his mouth. So, he didn’t have to scream his throat hoarse, and some pride was saved in the process.
Although this seemed somewhat stupid, Magnus was preparing for a few worse case scenarios. This would require him to be able to speak rather than struggle to speak due to him yelling his voice off.
Although Magnus couldn’t tell how much time had passed since he stepped into the blood pool, he noticed that the effects were starting to fade. It didn’t seem to hurt as much anymore.
Magnus suddenly got someone of an ominous premonition but decided to check his cultivation later.
After Magnus exited the blood pool it was different than before. It now had a murky purple color rather than the dark blood color it contained before. It was a bit odd, but Magnus figured that it just couldn’t be used again because purple is a stereotypical poisonous color.
Magnus didn’t want to wait for anyone else to finish in worry it would cause variables to appear in his outing. Hence, Magnus made sure to book it. Immediately after finishing the blood pool, he started to make his way out.
As Magnus made his way out of his cave, he felt something was off. It was a new peculiar sense that seemed to have been unlocked immediately after his bloodline awakening.
‘Hmmm’. Magnus considered something momentarily, then took out a talisman and tried to connect to it. As expected, it failed to connect.
Magnus then realized that this could be an immense opportunity. He quickly checked his cultivation.
‘As expected.’ Magnus had no more cultivation now. This is a rare situation in which a change in cultivation method is forced on a cultivator. This is one situation Magnus was weary about.
When a cultivator has more than one bloodline they are forced to change from cultivating spirit energy to bloodline energy. This is because it is very hard to cut out a bloodline which would be required if one wanted to continue cultivating using spirit energy.
The reason behind this is very simple, spirit energy cannot nourish both bloodlines at once. Doing so would require huge amounts of spirit energy that Magnus doesn’t have. This path could make one theoretically the ‘strongest’, but the amount of control, time, energy, and resources being pooled into making someone the ‘strongest’ through this method would be ridiculous.
This means that Magnus must switch to cultivate bloodline energy. This requires Magnus to consume ingredients relating to his nature and slowly refine his body that way. In this way, he learns and uses the affinities of his bloodline to cultivate his body and skills.
The only problem is Magnus has one of the rarest cases possible, two bloodlines, with one being overwhelmingly stronger than the other. This means that his other bloodline is sealed, and it will be impossible to progress further if he doesn’t manage to awaken his other bloodline.
This makes Magnus consider an option. The spatial exit is unstable temporarily. Most likely due to the amount of energy the realm is using by activating the blood pools. This means that Magnus could be teleported to a random location. Magnus is considering taking a bet so that he could possibly be able to cultivate again. After all, Magnus is confident in using the knowledge he has build up to be able to blend in anywhere he goes.
Magnus decided to take the risk.
He mentally prepared himself, took out two talismans, and immediately jumped into the portal he entered.
…
…
5 hours later in the same cave area
Eventually, the people that Magnus entered with came out. They basically exited at the same time, leading them to check the people that came out to see if there were any visible changes.
The only one who was able to spot an immediately difference was Er Zi, the fake male cultivator that was obviously a female cultivator.
“Did you bulk up a bit Eon?” Er Zi inquired.
“Yeah, a bit, but did anyone notice that the late guy is gone?” Eon stated looking around curiously.
“There could be some serious danger in this cave, we should leave as soon as possible.” Skinny Do, brother of Fatty Bo pointed out.
As Skinny Do was the person with the sharpest senses the brothers new, they quickly jumped into the portal to go back to the rocky terrain they entered from. Soon after, the rest of the younger generation cultivators followed without question. After all, people that have everything they need to rise, tend to play it safe when they came.
Soon after they left the portal started to close. Before that, a tendril of slime quickly entered the portal before it managed to close the entire way.
