"Oh, Lord!!" Irene pressed her forehead in despair. "I have transmigrated into another world." She gasped, and Reyna panicked at once. She kneeled on the bed beside her and held her hands.
"Milady, what happened? Are you alright? Is something the matter? Do you have a fever? Are you in pain? Do you need anything?" Reyna was beyond worried now, and her tears continued to flow again. Reyna had been Sylvaine's maid since the time she had entered the mansion, and she had been quite close to her. Now that her Lady was sick and had lost her memories, she was scared, worried and anxious.
"Reyna," Irene did not know how to stop the girl from crying. She had barely managed to stop her tears when she started to cry again. 'Does she have a tank of tears? How is she able to produce them this quickly?' Irene wondered.
"Don't cry, Reyna. I am not sick, nor do I feel pain anywhere. I was just thinking. Don't worry." Irene tried to assure her, but Reyna was not convinced.
"No, Milady. You must be lying so that I don't worry about you. You must be feeling sick somewhere. Otherwise, why would you have such a crestfallen expression?" Reyna shook her head and wiped her tears at the same time.
"How do I tell you, Reyna? I am amazed by the turn of events. How is it possible for me to transmigrate to another world? Is it even feasible? I thought it only happened in books and movies." Irene muttered, and Reyna frowned after listening to her.
"Transm..." Reyna gave her a blank look. "What's that, Milady? And what are movies?"
Irene wanted to laugh at the situation she was in. None of the words she spoke made sense to Reyna or anybody else around her, and she could not understand what was even happening to her. She was in despair and desperately wanted to get back to her world. For a moment, she even wondered if this was a dream, one of the weirdest dreams she had ever had, similar to the other dream she usually had.
But Irene knew that this was not a dream. She was in another world, another person's body, and she had no idea what to do now.
"You won't get it, Reyna, and I am in no mood to explain it to you in detail." Irene sighed and let out a helpless smile. But, right then, her stomach grumbled and she closed her eyes in embarrassment.
"Please forgive me, Milady. I completely forgot that you would be hungry. Let me bring you something to eat." Irene did not even have the chance to stop her, for Reyna had run away in an instant.
'Irene, where are you stuck?' She stared hard at the cream-colored duvet on her. 'What kind of twisted logic is this? And what world is this? Did I go back in time? Or is this an alternate universe?' So many questions popped up in her mind, and even after thinking for long, she did not find answers that could end her dilemma.
Reyna returned with a plate full of food, and on seeing the delicious food, Irene pushed all her disturbing thoughts to the back of her mind. Filling her stomach was her priority. She could think about her life once she was contented and full.
Without delay, Irene started hogging, licking her lips as she savored the delicious food on her plate. "Umm, this is so good." She moaned and took another bite of the chicken. "It is even better than some of the finest restaurants I have visited." She then drank a spoonful of the soup that tasted divine, especially as she was famished.

"Rest...Rest...What did you say, Milady?" Reyna stuttered, trying to recall what her Lady had spoken. 'What language is she speaking? I am unable to understand what she is talking about.' She wondered and gave her a confused look.
"You won't understand right now, dear Reyna. I will explain everything once I finish eating this delicacy. Okay?" She winked at her playfully, and Reyna was dumbstruck by her sudden mischievous nature. The next instant, her cheeks turned bright red. Even though the room was illuminated only by the moonlight and the light from the candles, Irene could see the girl blushing furiously.
"Darling Reyna, are you blushing right now?" She teased and ate a spoonful of rice while she raised her brows at the girl who had suddenly gone silent. "Aww, you are so cute."
Reyna smiled at seeing her Lady eat to her full. Though she did not remember anything about them or even herself, she was not sick and that was all she needed. She was at least eating well, and Reyna started feeling hungry seeing her eat. She too wanted to eat now. Since her Lady fell unconscious, she had not been eating or sleeping well. She was worried for her, and only she knew how she had spent the last few days wishing for her to wake up.
Now that her Lady was finally awake, she was relieved, happy and hungry. Right at that moment, her stomach too grumbled, and Irene chuckled on hearing. "Get your food here, Reyna. Let's eat together."
"How can I eat with you, Milady?"
"Why can't you? Am I a demon that you are frightened to eat with me?" Irene tilted her head, her eyes twinkling in amusement. But Reyna was too troubled to notice her playfulness.
"No, no, Milady. That is not what I meant."
"Then, go and get your plate. Let's eat together." She glared at her when she saw that Reyna was about to protest again. "It's an order."
Now Reyna had no choice but to do as she was told, and she returned with a plate of food. She was just about to sit on the floor when Irene stopped her. "Why are you sitting on the floor? Sit beside me."
"No, no. I can't." Reyna shook her head again.
"Fine, then," Irene picked up her plate and sat beside Reyna on the floor. "I will sit beside you."
"Milady, how can you sit on the floor?" Reyna was stupefied. Since the time she had woken up, her Lady had been behaving strangely. But...she liked it, she liked it very much. She seemed more close and amicable than the past her.
"Why can't I? When you can sit on the floor, why can't I? Now, eat. You must be hungry." She pointed at her plate before she started eating her food again. Reyna looked at her for a while before she eventually gave up. The girls ate their food until their stomachs were satisfied.
"Say, Reyna, do you mind telling me how people are in my family?" Irene questioned once they were done. Although she did not want to stay in this strange place, she had no choice. She had to stay here until she found a way to return home.
Reyna was just about to answer her when the door to her chamber opened again and the man who claimed to be her father returned with another older man behind him. "Sylvaine, dear, this is the royal physician. He will treat you and cure you quickly. Do not worry, dear." He said, and Irene stared at the man, who was now sweating profusely. She then turned to the royal physician and smiled at him.
"Lady, would you mind giving me your hand?" He held his hands in front of her, and Irene placed her left hand in them. The man started to check her pulse.
"Your Grace, the Lady is fine. She does not have any sickness, nor does she have any problem." The man spoke after a while.
"Then, why is she unable to remember us? My daughter cannot remember her father." The man complained and Irene noticed the difference in his tone. He was clearly behaving gently with the royal physician.
"Let me check, Your Grace." The physician turned to Irene, who was watching him keenly. "Do you remember what happened before you fell unconscious, Lady?"
Irene shook her head. 'I can only remember if I was here at that moment. I am not Sylvaine.' She shouted in her mind.
"Then, do you remember where you are, Lady?" Again Irene shook her head. "Do you remember anyone in this room?"
"No, I don't."
"I see." The physician frowned and thought for a while before he faced the man behind him. "Your Grace, I am afraid to say that the Lady has indeed lost her memories."
