Chapter 7

Time passes and the twins return with their third new addition, Should I start calling them the triplets? They tell me to follow them, I wonder if i'm going to be introduced to the third, I make eye contact, he or she I can't tell just smiles at me and we continue. They take me to a small room with a bed and what seems to be a strange chamber pot, wash basin and sink with a mirror above it. Next to the bed was a stone slab slightly sticking out of the wall, it was glowing, Helion says something about I can't use it till I can read and understand what it says.She shows me how to ‘answer calls’ and then they leave.

Before they leave they tell me that they have to arrange some things for me to do later, Helion has a strange smile on her face. It's all well for me, I haven't been by myself for weeks. I hadn't visited my soul and sea of power either. I was growing uneasy, I felt the sea becoming… volatile. When they leave I settle on the bed and slip into my consciousness.

Since my last visit the level of my sea has risen considerably, It would have covered the island again if not for some sort of barrier around it. It had completely surrounded the aforementioned barrier and seemed to be trying to crush it.  I was shocked but I did know what had happened. Tenelux had explained to me that we slowly accumulate raw natural essence for our sea then refine it for  our own purposes. But this was a shock, He had also mentioned that if someone had too much in their sea their sea could start to become unstable, He didn't continue from there so I assumed that this is what he meant, This began to feel dangerous as the sea continued to press in.

I immediately start to refine the essence into my spheres trying to lower the level of the sea. However soon after my sea began to shift out of my control and began spinning and sending waves throughout it, It seemed to be trying to attack my consciousness appreciation that was inside the barrier. I try to send the seas power into my spheres at a faster rate to try and subdue the sea, it seems to be working as the ferocity of its attacks have now dimmed. However the more I fill the orbs the slower they seem to take in the energy, However I keep pushing, and the storm and void spheres begin to shake and show cracks, I remember Tenelux mention stages my power goes through, I can only hope that this is one of them as he did not go into detail I could be destroying them and I wouldn't know. I continue to fill the spheres with power, The battle sense sphere stops accepting power all together however the storm and void orbs explode. The explosion pushes the sea back from the island and subdue it even more.

The shards of the orbs are scattered through the island and for a moment I fear that I have destroyed them completely. I then realize I can still feel them, I feel them call to me. They seem to be emanating some sort of instinct on how to use them. I give in and let them guide me to do what they needed. They began to suck in the sea like air and the shards lifted up, some of them grew and reformed the two spheres that had exploded earlier however there was still some left, instinct guided me to send some shards to orbit void, they became a new sphere on as clear as air almost as if it was not there at all. Some of the remanent shards flew to battle sense and formed a ring of lightning around it.

The final shards flew towards my shape and merged with it, Some shards that looked like shards of lightning flew into the wings and formed silver feathers amidst the black wings. Some shards that looked and felt as light as air flew into and throughout the body.

Everything after just stops, The sea is empty for now  not a single drop remains and I now have two new orbs orbiting the old ones and my shapes appearance had changed slightly as it now  had some silver feathers that occasionally had lightning run across them and the shape was slightly hovering above the ground almost as if it were lighter than air. I contemplated telling Tenelux and the twins about this event but I decide against it. My battle sense tells me never to reveal my power in detail, I will learn by myself when I can read. I exit my soul and open my eyes.

I decide to see what the new spheres can do, So I get up to test a few things. When I stand I feel as if my body is lighter than usual. I jump but when I start to descend my body floats downward like a feather. I test this for a while, I can either float down while in the air and move like i'm bouncing and gliding through the air or I can choose not to activate this falling as I would usually. Trying to make a relation to what happened earlier my only conclusion is that when the shards merged with my shapes body it had an effect on my real body. While in this train of thought I thought about the silver feathers. I guide my lightning through my body towards where the wings would be and discovered node like objects. Stretching my hands to feel that area, I don't feel anything on or in my skin. I decide to channel lightning into the nodes, there seems to be some sort of reaction however it seems to be missing something, I add the various energies that I can control and there's still no reaction. On a whim I decide to direct the physical energy I gain from enhancing my body, it's sucked in immediately and I feel the sudden presence of two new limbs.

As I was doing all this with my eyes closed when I open them i'm in shock. On my back are wings identical to those from my shape. I try to move them, it feels as natural as moving my arms, pouring lightning into them the silver feathers, newly added to the wings, in lighting cascading across their 1 and a half length on each side. While the wings are covered they seem faster and...Sharp. Concentrating I take the power away from the nodes and are sucked back into my body. Repeating this process a few times I get the hang of it and do it within seconds.

Smiling at my new ability I move onto the new spheres. The one that I will work with first is the clear one orbiting the void sphere. Seeing as it is orbiting the void sphere I assume that it is an add on to my net. So I release my net to see if their are any changes, I immediately notice some with the net itself, they seem to have come from the void sphere however. The net has expanded to a sphere with a 6 metre radius increasing its full radius by a full metre. It seems when the sphere broke then reformed it became stronger, I wonder if it's the same with the storm sphere I will check later. Inspecting the net yet again I notice a smaller secondary net, this one resembling a fishing net instead of a spherical one, it's large enough to be draped over my body and cover me entirely and I can control it with my mind. I bring it over to cover my arm to see what kind of effects it has, I see none. I experiment further with no success. Giving up I prepare to move onto the storm sphere however I look at the mirror and see that the current object I had covered with the net had disappeared from it. Curious I moved the net back to me and wrapped my lower body, My lower half disappears from view in the mirror. I laugh, this could be fun and useful.

Checking the storm spheres ability I see that the air wisps that I can control has increased, My overall control has increased with it. Using hand motions I make the wisp rotate around me building up a strong wind. Using the wind I manage to knock over some objects through the room. The power and overall amount of my wind and lightning has increased.

I would experiment with the battle sense but I already knew what it was. Over the journey here I had managed to convince Tenelux to tell me what one of his essences was, It took way too much effort, this is one the reasons i'm not telling him about the changes. Anyway he told me about his battle scenes and how it evolved. Generally battle sense had different element revolve around it and you can then imbue that power into a weapon for different abilities, Since I have no weapon at the moment I can't experiment with it.

Since I first started experimenting it's been a few hours and i've been getting myself more acquainted with my abilities. I found out that using my wings and charging them with a small amount of lightning while using light body I can hover for long periods of time. I can also control my lightning to cover my fists and create a bubble to protect it, making my fists very good weapons. I could also make floating silver feathers, without using the wings, and shoot them as charged lightning projectiles.

The stone screen started making noises, I did as helion showed me I answered the call and a picture of who I presumed was Helion appeared, then the picture moved as well as started to talk.  How did that work I wonder.

The twin identifies herself as Helion confirming my assumption. She gives instructions to meet their leader and learn new details about this place and their purpose, I ask how to get their and a slot opens on the slab. A small crystal is in the slot, I'm told to go down the hall way in which the crystal glows, simple enough.

Following the instructions I journey through multiple falling platforms, stairs and hallways all while utilizing my light body technique, I decide to call it that for simple discussions, I drifted through the halls like a ghost.

After arriving at a door the stone shone a different color than usual, I took this to mean I had reached my destination. I open the door and see the one of the twins and tenelux sitting inside eating and talking. They notice me entering and tenelux sits me down and tells me to eat, Helion had apparently prepared a presentation. He was holding his laughter in while saying that, Helion glared at him overall a very entertaining picture.

On the table was a variety of cooked meat, It seems that was the favoured food. As me and Tenelux began eating, Helion began her presentation. She and Tenelux were part of a group that was neither part of the light churches nor the dark ones. They were part of a middle faction that believed in various gods however not the ones that were widely worshipped. The gods they worshipped never gave boons in the form of items but knowledge on how to improve themselves.

The group's purpose was to cause problems for the various churches so as to disrupt their cruel practices and misleading of the common folk and nobility. They also take in children that have had their lives destroyed by the churches. Apparently Helion and her siblings were children like those, and they were quintuplets which answered that question. They raised the children here and trained them for certain aspects of life to contribute to the cause. The group had bases located all over the continent as they called it, However the one we were in is the largest and chief headquarters.

At this point they tell me I will be one of those children, I have no problem with that, I have no better offer.

Tenelux then promises to solve my emotion problem, I laugh and respond.

“I already have the answer it's fine” I say, Tenelux looks surprised.

“How” he asks.

“I met a man named fernum in the library earlier and we talked” I say back

“He said to say hello to you”

Teneluxs expression froze, He starts muttering. Helion starts to laugh.

“Whats wrong” I ask

“The man you meet was Teneluxs teacher Azron” Helions says while laughing.

“Apparently the only man Tenelux is afraid of is him...no one knows why though” Helion continues.

A few minutes pass before tenelux clears his throat and asks what we talked about. I tell the about the general conversation, However I say that my personality will slowly just come back, I don't reveal i'm making a new one I want to shape who I am if I tell them they may try to influence the process. They tell me that they will call me again when they set up a schedule for me, I mention I don't know how to read. Helion says she'll take care of it. Tomorrow they will call me so I can meet a few people from around the base. I nod, Helion volunteers to take me back to my room.

We arrive and Helion is a bit shocked at the state of it with lightning burn marks and shattered objects, I explain I may have been practicing, She tells me the first stop tomorrow will be to show me where the training hall is. I nodded and she leaves.

For a while after she leaves I control using my wind trying to find an offencive application for it, I can't come up with anything but I do gain more control. Beginning to feel tired I go to my bed and fall into a deep sleep.

Waking up in what I assume is the next day, There is no sun or moon here, I sit up and get out the bed and do some stretches along with some pushups, crunches and other physical exercises. It takes about 15 minutes before the screen lights up like the night before. I walk over and answer, Its helion, she tells me to follow the stone again but before I leave I had to bathe and put on clean clothes, She tells me where the clothes will be, And I know how to bathe.

After cleaning myself I find the clothes, helion said she picked them out. The shirt is a tight fitted v-neck short sleeved no collared shirt, Pants were made of some strange fabric and a jacket that's lenth ended at my knees. The color scheme was Mostly black with silver lining and highlights, like my wings. Looking at myself in the mirror I see myself. The shirt is tight fitting showing of my muscles while the pants are tight enough to comfortable and unrestricting, The coat looks like a normal jacket you would see a royal guard wear except I leave the front open and the hem of the jacket is at my knees. My blue eyes slightly shine, like my shapes eyes except less prominent. The only problem was my hair, it was too scruffy I didn't like it, i'd have to fix it later.

Exiting the room I follow the stone till I find Helion, as I approach she smiles and greets me. I do the same. She tells me that we are right outside the training hall and has a few people to come and test me, She wants to know what I can do it seems she knows i'm still hiding a few things. She tells me before we go in to let her do introductions. I simply nod.

We enter the room, The first thing I notice is the size. Its much larger than the library building I had been in before. It also seemed to have various sections. Different fighting arenas and strange devices where everywhere. Helion guides me over to a group of three people. Two men and one woman.

The woman  had red hair and was fairly tall with what could be called a lithe body build, she was also wearing the same style clothes as me except in a different color scheme.

The man was well over 7 feet tall and was muscular to the extreme, He had short black hair and a cheery smile on his face.

The boy looked my age. He looked like a mix between to adults beside him,Hair and build, I guess he's their son.

The woman speaks up.

“Helion is this the boy you found?” She asks.

“Yes Bairn his name is Azron” Helion replied.

“Hello Azron” she says turning to me.

“Hello miss” I say, Being polite.

“How old are you azron” she says still smiling

“Nine” I say

“Oh how wonderful the same age our boy. Come say hi Theo” Says bairn.

Theo comes forward, and bairn moves back, he looks nervous. The two adults move back along with helion.

Helion then shouts at me.

“You will duel with Theo”

I agree, I don't really think I have an option at this point, Helion has a dangerous smile on her face. Almost as if i don't do this I will regret it later, It was a smile of promises...dark promises.

I look around and see me and theo within what seems to be a large painted circle on the floor. We both back away from each other. I have no idea what his strengths are and has no idea of mine, However I won't be arrogant and assume i'm more powerful ill treat him as the stronger for now it seems he is doing the same, he is wary of me and has my guard up..  

We stand in a tense silence and then Bairn and Helion say in unison.

“BEGIN”

We both take action.
