“Why isn’t Nerm and his subordinates here yet? Didn’t they say they would just hunt the guardian dragon in Blek forest. Surely that bastard didn’t scuttle off to some town again? We were told not to draw anymore attention!”

A woman dressed in leather clothes and bone mail slammed her fist on the table.

“Now now Jeren, we already have sufficient sacrifices and materials for the ritual. The only thing that we ought to do, is wait. You were always at odds with him yet you seek him whilst he’s gone. Perhaps this is the love Arn is speaking about?”

The huge, brawny man tending to his axe in the other side of the table spoke to the woman.

“Don’t ruin my already foul mood Hal, I’ve yet to taste the blood of a Northsman. Arn would be upset should I make you my first taste.” Jeren stared daggers at Hal.

Placing down the shiny axe, Hal stood up and wore his overcoat.

“Ye worry as my wife does when I tread to the forest for wood and food.” Hal scoffed as he left the tent.

“That bastard-“ Jeren reached for the dagger in front of her as she unleashed terrible killing intent, seemingly wanting to draw blood with it. But another person stopped her.

“Lay down that dagger lass. Quench thy thirst with the blood of Empyreans, not thine comrades.” The man pressed down his rapier on the dagger, stopping Jeren from picking it up.

“Hmp.”

Jeren then sat down once more, annoyance drawn all over her face as her thick killing intent subsided.

“All things happen as fate wills it, and our cause is that willed by fate. The only truth is in our cause.” The man whispered as he returned his rapier back to its sheathe.

Near the Boundary of Blek Forest…

“Master! Master! I want to eat fried chicken!”

Oasis’ cheerful voice sounded beside my ear as I continued checking my [World Map]

“Calm down you pig lizard, we just finished eating lunch! How come you’re hungry again?”

Have I made a mistake? Should I just left her in the lake and not contract her?

“Eh? But master’s food was so much tasty. I think I’d never be full!” Oasis tilted her head innocently. My heart instantly took some damage.

Sooo cuuuuteee! Yes, I made no mistake in getting my partner beast.

“I was saving this for your snack later, but fine. Let’s just eat pizza for dinner.” I handed her a fried chicken thigh from my item box.

Happy sounds filled my ears as my cute companion lizard did some asmr at my shoulder.

Where did the fried chicken go you say? Two days ago old guy God showed up in my dreams and asked for more gentlemanly goods.

But where the hell would I get it when I already left Earth? This old guy really finished my 100tb collection in less than a month. But thanks to him, I learned one other function from Gaia’s gift to me. It seemed like [Gaia’s Records] can also recreate things from Earth given enough Mana, it cannot create people and animals tho. It’s a hidden skill called [Gaia’s Memento].

I think Gaia wanted me to discover it in a more meaningful situation, but this old pervert just had to want goods from earth.

And so he left happily that night with all the goods made in Earth from 2010-2020. Surely a decade’s worth of it would keep him away for a long while.

But then I’m quite thankful for him revealing this to me as I haven’t really eaten proper food all this while. I just tried the roasted falcon meat from my first battle once, but my tongue spoiled by both western and eastern cuisines clearly was disappointed by how it tasted. Now I can enjoy one of my hobbies back in earth which was cooking.

I even made a [Godly Chef] skill just for it. Now even my partner Oasis won’t accept raw food anymore.

“Master are we going to ‘guraynd’ again today?” Oasis asked me as she was licking her front toes after finishing the chicken I gave her.

“Hmm. No I don’t think we would. I think we’re leaving this forest now. Are you ready for the outside world?”

“If master says so then I will follow master!” Oasis cheerful tone didn’t waver one bit, and clearly she was excited too. She’s finally leaving the forest she thought she’d spend her whole life in after all.

I took another look at my [World Map] to confirm my direction. A few kilometers ahead there are humans being besieged by Orcs. I used [God’s Eye] to inspect them and I was shocked as they were all knights above level 60. But the sad thing is, they are severely outnumbered. There are only around 40 knights still moving while the other dozen is being protected in the middle, while there are still around 300 monsters attacking them.

“Want to do some after-meal exercises Oasis?” I patted her nose.

“Nn!”

And so she leaped off my shoulder and changed into her new form.

“Captain we can’t hold on much longer! Take the prince and go!”

“What nonsense are you saying Gil! We will live through this! I won’t allow any more sacrifices among my men! Rally your shields! As long as I stand, none of you shall fall! [Defender]!” I felt strength wash to my body once more as I cast my skill, Defender.

We never knew it would be an orc horde, we were just supposed to rescue the foolish prince that went to subjugate a goblin nest. If he fell here in my lord’s domain, those rotten nobles would surely not miss this chance to put my lord in a tough spot with the king.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!”

“Eldei NOO!!!!!”

Once more one of my men fell and was ripped into pieces by these savage monsters. Tears were welling up in my eyes, and my rage was burning so hot. But I cannot let myself be lost to my emotions or else more of my men shall fall.

“Captain! Reinforcements!”

One of the knights shouted to me. Hope welled up in my chest, as I knew that God was watching over us.

Screams of pain came before the death of these foul orcs. And later on, as the reinforcement came into my line of sight, I was turned speechless. There were no group that came for us, rather there was a peculiar black haired boy dressed in clothes I have never seen before and an unknown small dragon which was as deadly as its beauty.

“Sir knight, you can rest along with your wounded companions now. You can leave the rest to me, I’m taking all the spoils tho. Would there be a problem with that?”

The young man approached me while swinging his sword to his side, instantly felling an orc that had raised his weapon to him.

“Huh? Oh- ah, yes no, no problem…”

I didn’t notice but all the orcs that surrounded me and my men were already dead, and the only ones left fighting was the boy, and the monster he brought with him.

“Captain, this isn’t a dream right?” One of the knights whispered behind me.

“Lad, even this is far too unbelievable to be conceived in a dream.”

That was the first time that this world had a glimpse of the wonders this black haired young man that suddenly appeared from nowhere.
