After the slaying the monsters and levelling up, I decided to store them both in my item box, however there is still one more thing that made me curious.

“Locate curse possessing items. [Detection].”

There were two reactions I got from using my detection skill. One coming from the corpse of the dragon, and another coming from the pile of human corpses.

I walked over to see what cursed item there was in the dragon and saw a pitch black stake impaled on the dragon’s torso. And so I scanned it using [God’s Eye].

I used [Detection] and found a small gecko in the tree to my left glaring at me.

“Evil human! Why is mother gone?! Elder Cryoppotamus told us to run away but why is he gone too?!”

“Not only mother but also elder cryoppotamus and big brother slime is gone too?!”

The lizard saddened hearing my words. There was a small pearly tear that dropped from her eyes it also got me sad.

“But when I arrived I saw you evil human turning the other evil humans into light and they disappeared! Where did they go?”

“That actually is a skill of mine. It helps me store items and non-living things as well. I have all of their corpses stored including your family.”

“Evil human are you not lying to me?”

I put out the corpse of the Mist Dragon to show the little lizard.

“Great Mother!” She flew off the tree and jumped into the corpse I just laid.

So in this world even monsters have families too huh… Not that I’ll spare them from now on tho.

The little lizard cried for about half an hour while I sat on a rock and just watched her. Looking at the face of this lizard oddly reminds me of my favorite k-pop idol when I was a teenager.

“Little lizard, how long do you plan to cry there? If you continue to cry, even your dead mother will get sad too.”

“Evil human are you strong?”

“Hm, I might not be the strongest in the world yet but I’m stronger than those other guys who fought your mother at least. Why do you ask?”

“Great mother often told us stories before about how she was just a newt like us before. And that she got strong today because of a very strong human. Strong Evil Human, make me stronger than mother.”

The little lizard was in human aesthetics, really cute. But when she said that and stared at me, there was a fierce, firm will inside her eyes.

“I can make you strong.”

“Really? Then take me with you evil human!”

“But I have two conditions.”

“I’m ready for it evil human!”

“First, stop calling me evil human. You will call me master.”

“Yes evi- err… master.”

“Second. I will not make you just stronger than your mother. I can make you one of the strongest beings in this world if you follow me. Are you prepared to suffer for that?”

“Yes master!” The firm gaze I see from this tiny creature continued to amaze me. And all the traces of sadness were gone and in a second, I thought I saw the intimidating gaze of a proud mighty dragon.

So there’s more than one ways of taming monsters huh. Maybe this monster taming is the more common skill that has many users in this world, and this magical beast contract is some superior form of taming.

“Come forth, [Magical Beast Contract].”

A bright blue magic circle appeared beneath mine and little lizard’s feet.

“Awawawawawa- what’s happening evil master human?!” the panicking lizard screamed as she suddenly couldn’t move.

“Calm down little lizard. I’m making you a Contracted Magical Beast. Didn’t you ask me to make you stronger?”

“Understood master…”

I bit my finger to make it bleed a little then I drew the rune on little lizard’s forehead.

“By my word, from now on your name will be [Oasis]. A companion that shall never betray me and always obey. In return, I will make you the strongest of your kind on this world. Do you accept?”

“Yes, master!”

The magic circle glowed even more brightly and the blood rune shined as it disappeared into Oasis’ forehead. I felt a huge amount of mana flow out from me and envelop Oasis as the magic circle shrunk until it also got absorbed into the little lizard’s body.

I tried inspecting her using [God’s Eye] but shockingly, I can see her status now instead of a description.

“I’ll be damned… the ritual works after all…” I was speechless for a while because of what was shown in my new partner’s status.
