G
When we got back, I was eager to shower as I was sweaty and a bit sore. Yet, the moment I got out of the car, Jack and Zach grabbed a shoulder each and dragged me to a bonfire lighting up midday.
I mean, I understand why they are doing this as being an Alpha isn't like how it is in books where you just give orders, March around as a badass, and fuck everything moving. Though the latter, I was well on my way but that was more of an 18 year old hormones than just pure lust.
Though, for some reason they have decided that I must be like an incubus because some of these guys will push their wives, girlfriends, or boyfriends at me. Even though I reject them most of the time, I will catch their partners propositioning me every so often at gathering. I can't tell if it is because of some weird animal factor or just a misconception that was developed by romance authors.
In a lot of romance books, Alphas could sleep with whoever in the tribe and it was an honor. This sort of transferred into the real world but it has a different connotation than I understood. I doubt they knew the reason for this odd behavior.
Maybe it was because of how the soul integration phase was created. Before, spirit beast warriors were just fancy hunters. The beast didn't increase our physical capabilities by quality but quantity. It was just another entity fighting beside us. We were little more than an Olympic athlete compared to regular gym rats.
However, Remy and me work together to turn this into a quality trait. My idea was to merge the two into one like a half man, half beast. Like a werewolf. Yet, during the process I made some miscalculation and needed assistance which led to Remy helping me. Thus gave birth to instead of adding spirit beast as transformation trait. I absorb the soul of the spirit beast, transforming my own soul in the process.
I believe that if I had gone through this by myself, a lot of my thoughts on shifters would be purely conceptual. Yet, with Remy who had at a time in his life, romanticized catgirls. A lot of popular ideologies transplant into our souls as these awkward rules.
When I passed this knowledge on to other spirit beast warriors, they adopted this stance and slowly became this weird shifter culture. Which is honestly not a great thing for me. No matter what someone thinks.
Anyway, I spent a few hours eating good BBQ and dancing with some of the kids. Even playing a couple rounds of soccer. All to increase my image as a great leader. Of course, when the kids went inside because school tomorrow for them. Some of the less prude shifters came for and the songs changed a beat.
This is where I grabbed a bottle of water and plate of ribs and leaned against a tree. Yet, disturbing, I still was. A new shifter and his partner made their way over towards me. I couldn't help but sigh in annoyance. First, the woman wasn't my choice of a bed partner. Second, she didn't look exactly willing. As a mundane, while they may have known their partner all their lives. Right now, they were seeing them change right before their eyes.
Similar to me and Taylor, even though my mother introduced me to the modeling world before she passed. I still hang out with him but when I began the integration process, I no longer had an inclination to want to be around prey.
"Hey sir. I just wanted to introduce my lovely wife and day thanks for taking me in. The job you help me get changed my life for the better." This guy was about eight years older than me and smaller than me. He smelled like some feline shifter and had this brown hair that made him look like a pretty boy if his nose wasn't so big.
His wife though wasn't even on a scale of hot. She was low key average. Just someone you would see in a crowd of people watching an accident or something. You would not even remember their face later on, even if you met them again. My desire to sleep with her was as low as her desire to be pimp out.
But now you know why I am drinking water. Imagine If I was drunk?
I shook his hand and his wife and shot the shit for a few minutes before he shuffled back. This follows up a few more times as a few other new shifters from way out east rush towards west in order to become part of something.
Well, a cowboy walked over and he had this creepy smile on his lips. Actually it was the attraction in his eyes that really had me alert. He definitely felt I was his type and I admit that I favor my mother a lot. If I had bangs, then I can't fault people from thinking I was a flat chested girl when I was younger. I mean that was less than three years ago but now. My shoulders were broad, my legs thick, and my facial features sharp like a man. At worse, I'm a slightly more effeminate man but a woman? No way!
"Hey, I wanted to talk about joining the enforcers but Mr. Murphy told me to talk to you about it. He's currently not sober." The cowboy said as he turned slightly to watch Zach dancing rather slutty with his wife who we found out could be turned by a bite of someone more than fifty percent into the soul integration process.
"Of course, training starts at dawn. Just walked to the circle. You should see Zach or Jake leading." I replied around a chewy piece of fat.
"You don't.."
"No, I am a night owl. I will be asleep or hiding from the heat but during combat class. Of course, I'll be there." I had to interrupt him as I just wasn't interested in a relationship with him. If anything it would be someone smaller and softer than myself.
He chatted about some random stuff from Tennessee and I listened half heartedly until Tori and Dr. Mitchell rushed towards me with drunk smiles. Oh, correction, they weren't drunk but sober and coming to me with something I already decline.
Like I said before, I wasn't all that good at sex. If not for a trick I taught myself after getting humiliated by a girl, then I would still be just like the average man. Orgasms would still be one sided.
"I heard we were on lock down but you know that I am a surgeon. I need to be on call and nearby. Otherwise I would feel horrible if a child died because I was stuck in traffic." Dr. Mitchell came right away with the guilt trip.
To be honest, I didn't like the ideal of lock down either but Zach had a point. We were an obvious target but we will seem even more guilty if nobody goes out.
"I'm fine with you staying in the city but please use the emergency button upon seeing feds. Quicker we get you a lawyer the better. Otherwise, you will be hit with trump up charges and then we will have to do some daring stuff to rescue you. Which will affect your career."
Dr. Mitchell grabbed my hand and shook it hard. "Thank you." He then ran off to deliver the good news to a few more who probably wanted to ask the same thing.
However, I turned to Tori who had a thick body. She was a milf that you totally would want to be friends with. Close friends but I wasn't interested in being one of those guys who slept with married women.
"Is the situation really so serious?"
"Of course, they are targeting us due to a bit of misinterpreting but the government wants to control those with supernatural ability either way. We are a resource that is untapped. They of course would want to get an advantage." I took the opportunity to take a huge gulp of water and then stare at my empty plate. My stomach was still craving more but I knew how hard it was to really feed myself until I was full. I could eat a few thousand humans and still feel hungry.
Just a comparison, not evil, trust.
"Why do they need to bother us when they have to have more evolvers in the military and various government facilities?"
"Because other than us, the organization, and Remy. We are the only classified sub branch called shifters. The rest just have the potential but still the weak spirit beast type. Though they can increase their power, it won't necessarily be their power but borrow. Having a group of people who can shape-shifting their bodies is much better."
"I don't see how it is better. We have an alpha that doesn't even value us. Whereas, they at least don't have to worry about the state of rejection." She said all this with a hand on her hip and a twist to her lips that had me wondering if the women discussed this beforehand.
"What is there to gain by sleeping with married women? But there is much more to lose. So why fight for it?" Really, I was kind of tired of this discussion. What state of rejection? What is this bullshit? I have to whore myself out? Do I gain anything from the exertion? No. Okay then bye.
I started walking to the trashcan when two other women who I really couldn't just walk away from. I relied on their insight and plus they were the combat coach. Who would fuck with mma fighters who had a positive record before they retired to have families? Not me. I already had my ass kicked by them enough.

"You can't deny us this. To you, it might not be any benefits as a dragon with higher than eighty percent completion but to us. It means an improvement just by being around you. Imagine if we slept with you, How much could we improve?" Evie grabbed the plate from my hand. While Jade, the other mma fighters, plus usually quiet one, grabbed my neck while steering me towards my house.
"You don't have a choice in this. We all noticed how much nikkie improved with her control. It's our turn."
I held up my hand and threw out my last trump card. "Hey, it's just my saliva. I'm sure you read that dragons are treasures. Well I can confirm that my dragon saliva has great benefits. I don't need to whore out when I already diluted it and brew it into beer and wine. If you guys pay me, I am willing to share!"
They ignored me and like this I ended up being abused. Poor me. Oh, poor me.
** short intermission **
"Any news on our target?" The new Director of the new department of supernatural existence spoke out loud to the room full of people.
"Ma'am, all agents who were previously following the shifters community suddenly lost their targets around Agoura Hills. However, the agents who were staking out the casters, have stopped reporting." A guy with curly hair half turned in his rolly chair.
The Director frowned, "kia?"
"Strong possibility even though we haven't found any bodies."
"The shifters didn't kill the agents tailing them?"
"No ma'am."
"What are the chances that the casters employed the main branch of warriors to kill our comrades after finding out about our interests?"
"Sixty percent chance given that more than twenty cops were killed during the club raid. With more than eighty percent chance of that being the core shifter, Lonnie Winters."
The Director closed her eyes for a second, "no longer send agents after them. Consider them as high profile suspects with clot. Focus on all other small crimes with supernatural elements. Maybe we will get lucky and able to follow the chain."
An older woman raised her hand, "I am the handler of agent Palmer and she has gotten close to Lonnie Winters. Should I recall her?"
"Is she one of those that survive the trials to become a shifter?" The Director sat on a table as she spoke in a slightly more intrigued tone.
"Yes ma'am. According to her last report, Lonnie Winters has allowed her to his bed and she is sure she can keep his attention. Possibly get into his pack with a little effort."
The Director tilted her head back as she stared at the roof and tapped her nails on the table.
"It is risky but let her go ahead. Just remind her that if we don't have any evidence to move on with them. Then we can't come in and rescue her if she does something that might jeopardize her safety. The government attitude changed immensely after the former director's failure."
"Roger."
** new transmission **
"Today on news seven, we have an exclusive interview with a supernatural entity that calls himself a Master Mage." News anchor Leon Green said excitedly as he spun a pen in his hand.
The camera pan towards a man in a green and black suit walked on stage. His green hair flowed backwards like a TV mobster trying to look more professional.
The man unbutton his coat and took a seat. His green eyes panning the staff before returning to the anchor.
"Thanks for having me and allowing me to promote the community." The man spoke with such an even baritone voice that it was slightly hypnotic.
The anchor took a second to respond as his pen fell out of his hand.
"No, it is our honor to have you here to help us understand this new development." The anchor quickly picked up his pen and leaned forward slightly, while returning to spinning the pen. "So why have you guys decided to step out into the openings? A lot of science fiction would have declared that mages would establish a hidden organization to control the world. It is odd for you guys to be this open in front of today's government."
"Honestly, we might have remained hidden but I am sure you noticed how some imbeciles have transitioned to crime."
"Of course, we made a few reports on such things."
"These children have already stated that the world is changing. The government response isn't exactly hard to predict either. They desire to control what they might call strategic resources."
"If I may say so myself, the latest showing of you guys would place you as an extremely strong special force unit. At least that is what over eighty dead federal agents would think upon being reap like wheat."
"That isn't my group, so I can't recklessly comment on why they did what they did. I can only assume that the federal agents found a steel wall to headbutt. Personally, I would have maintained a standard of watch and see until I had an equal force."
The anchor man raised an eyebrow, "so are you saying the feds overestimate their own ability?"
The man in green laughed like Leon told a funny joke. "Not only did they overestimate themselves but they were way too obvious in the manner they went about this operation. Just the fact that over eighty men were on the ground showed how serious they felt this to be. Which makes us wonder, how come only four people slaughter them like spanking a young child bottom. There should have been more survivors if the federal body took this absolutely seriously and gave the enemy team a proper breath of mind."
"I can't refute such logic when the evidence is so obvious but I wondered why as a mage and American, you or your group didn't step in to prevent such a huge killing spree."
The green eyed mage rolled his eyes. "I am just an average citizen. Why would I dare to step in and play hero? Where does this logic come from?"
"Are you saying that it isn't your responsibility to act as superman when you have been given such a blessing?"
"Of course not. Superman was an alien to begin with thus he could look down on the rest of earth from a high standpoint. I was born just an average citizen, went to school, graduated from college with debt, and flourished once I saw a chance. Why would I get myself killed when the government is something we all pay taxes to protect us, help us prosper. It is not my fault when they hire such an incompetent director."
"In your opinion, what should have the government done? Since they cannot count upon your community to manage itself?"
"That's funny. We, mages, are as dispersed as the ethnic groups. How do you want us to manage the ones and twos who have just awakened and don't want proper guidance? Do you want us to enact slavery policies to kidnap and baptize these newcomers? Ignoring the education of today's society but what do we do when again, it is the government agencies that are seeking death?" The green mage sat on the edge of his chair while his fingers dug into the leather arm. "Let me ask you this, do you support what the Nazis did to the jews?"
Leon shook his head, "of course not but how can we say that the government actions are similar to the nazis. They aren't rounding people up and sending them to camps to starve or be tortured."
"How do you know that is not happening? Just thinking of the people in the south who had been torn away from their parents and put into deportation camps. But even if you think that isn't relevant then why do you think that these agents were doing such a large operation on this hotel? Why do you think that they received such a strong response?"
"A lot of Americans don't necessarily agree with that policy but I can't remark on why the government raided a hotel. Why don't you inform us?"
"Of course." The green mage took a sip of water. "Because that group is what we call a divergent. The core of them is what some label as spirit beasts who have such a huge weakness. That is that they are very similar to a summoner in a game, weak body but powerful pet. I don't understand how they found the path they did but it is obviously more powerful than the one before. However, I think the side effects in such methods are very overpowering but the government doesn't think so."
"Are you saying this group of divergents are sought after by the government? That they possibly wanted to learn the secrets of this group?"
"Why not? This is a powerful strategic weapon. Plus their own attempts at attempting to create these divergents have failed. With a success rate being 1 out of ten. How many supernatural entities do you think the government has lost due to their own research?"
Leon was about to open his mouth but sighed. "I had a wonderful time discussing this controversial subject but this is all the time we have. Until next time."
** transmission ended**
I grabbed an empty bottle and frowned as I glanced at the mini fridge to the left of me. Could I dare spare a minute to grab another water when I heard footsteps upstairs. Damn, did he parachute onto my roof..
Thud.. thud..
Smirk plastered on my face as I caught the fool trying to come inside. My finger hovered over the trigger as the door opened and the enemy appeared down sight.. I let him step right inside before unloading on him while moving to the left as he fired at my old spot. A quick jump and I accidentally headshotted him.
No sooner than I stepped out that I got one spotted. Not even giving a chance to respond as my teammates died before me.
Leaning back, I log out of the game and check my blinking email. At the same time, Tori sat down three plates in front of me. One full of bacon and sausage, another with eggs and grits, and the final with pancakes stack six high. Those grey eyes staring at me like she was waiting for a compliment but compliments were best served on a full stomach.
No sooner had I picked up the fork that I felt Remy coming with a tag along. So I smiled at Tori and politely thanked her for the meal. Which got me a nod and perfect view. I wondered what went through Dr. Mitchell minds allowing Tori to sleep with me. The woman was a ten in any book and with the desire to please..
I just couldn't make sense of it but who was I going to complain to. After all, this is every man's dream and I already did my due diligence by fighting as hard as I did. Now it was time to enjoy my hard work of bringing together a harem of catgirls and foxgirls.
I bet none of them would have thought that I would have such a plan when they first met me.
I dug into my food as Remy walked in with a skinny lady that I had never seen before. She really needed to eat because damn, she was flat as a board.
"Brother Remy, what pleasure do I owe you today?" I spoke up after a hasty orange juice wash.
Remy dropped onto the couch while he gestured at the woman before him. "This lady is an old friend of mine from college. You could say we had a rather romantic relationship but now she is the Director of the FBI for this region."
I shrugged like this information wasn't worthy for me to waste time. After all, I had a league client up and food in front of me.
"Five minutes to lay out a good argument. Minutes deducted for every word not important to me."
The woman looked at the green haired mage like he was going to help her further but he was fixing himself some of my dragon wine. Which was, honestly, made from my saliva.
Haha!
"The government thinks that fighting between us is a waste of resources and personnel. We should come to an agreement on ruling rights. Us, the warriors not turned shifters and you, all shifters. We are even willing to transfer our shifters over to your jurisdiction. Does any of this sound unpleasant to your ears?" She really spit all that out in one quick flow.
However, the latter felt like she wanted to place spies in my nest. People who could slowly introduce a bit of contention to my rule. This was an amusing idea. Why not.
"Okay, I agree but no contract. Who knows how long I can live? I cannot under good conscience bind someone else to my word." I stuffed a bacon slice into my mouth while reading this report on a news channel.
The woman frowned but didn't let it stop her. "Should I send them here and how do you define the region you wish to…"
I wave a grease stain hand, "Honestly, you are doing too much. We are happy here with this land we bought with our hardworking. We just wish to go back to normal society without your prejudice. Once you stop stalking us, we will act like any other citizens. If that is all, please leave."
You could tell by her crow feet broke through the eye makeup that she was shocked and appalled at my lack of ambition. It probably led her to think that we aren't the one who so aggressively killed over a hundred feds and cops.
However, she didn't know what I knew.
The Director stared back at me multiple times before finally stepping out of sight. I turned to Remy with a smile as I wiped my mouth.
"How is the power plant?"
Remy sighed as he spun the silver wine in his glass. "Harder than we thought. Modifying the trees and plants to produce mana wasn't hard but the conversion process is not going the way we hope. Which led us to using mana to create an electromagnetic storm inside the other silo and converting that into usable energy."
I nodded as I kept polishing off my plates. "Keep going.."
"You should be able to feel it, the current progress. A release of 65 percent of mana and the rest is converted into usable energy. A whole three year project and this is the best we can do without more understanding of magic."
I nodded and rubbed my stomach as I forked the last pancake into my mouth. "This is good too. We will be able to train a little faster than everybody else. By the way, I like what you did on the news. Real smooth."
Remy shrugged, "not my best work but it was something I felt like doing on a day off. Anyway, I am moving my family into the house in the end. Remind Evie of me. I don't want my research interrupted by nonsense."
I nodded and yawned.
