Starting point

"Okay now that I have some general goals, let's get my bearings."

'I'm not in the same body from my previous life, I'm wearing a white cotton shirt and grey drawstring pants, that my old body would never fit in, I'm definitely taller than I was in my past life, maybe a little over 180 centimeters and I no longer have a gut.'

Looking around I found a small lake of clear water and got a good look at my new self, pale skin draped across a skinny frame, a quite handsome face, with yellow eyes that could pierce a soul and dark green hair cascading down to my shoulders that looks like it greedily devoured the sun to make it sheen.

"Nice, okay, I don't really have any muscle definition, but this is a good starting point, a handsome blank canvas, now for the most important part."

Pulling my pants away from my body my little buddy was revealed, making me fall to my knees.

"Thank god, whoever gave me this new life, thank you for also including the premium package."

Standing up relief washed over me. 'I know it's a frivolous thing to be this concerned about my little buddy, but if I'm gonna create a harem in this world, I'm gonna need to at least be packing well.'

*phew* "Now that I've confirmed I'm favored it's finally time to get to the main event."

"Heuk, hmph."

"Status."

. . . . . . . . . .

"Status window."

. . . . . . . . . .

"Open sesame. . . arise. . . start. . . pretty please... book book book book book."

. . . . . . . . . . .

"Fuck."

"Where's my status window, usually in this situation the reincarnated, AKA me, gets a status window to know things like health, mana, strength, skills, general stats for my character, but nothings popping up."

"Damn do I really not get a status window, that's a bit of a problem, I was hoping to use it as a tracking system to see my progress and help me understand this world at a faster rate"

"Oh well, what can ya do, at least I have a quest system right?"

As my question floated endlessly through the air, never to be actually answered, I decided to just drop it and move on.

"Whatever, this doesn't change anything, at the end of the day I will have my harem, with or without a status or quest system."

"Know to start my journey" I exclaimed with my chest out and my finger pointed toward the shining sun.

This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.

I then began to leisurely walk to the kingdom enclosed in stone below the grassy hill, it's either the kingdom enclosed in stone or walking in a random direction until something happens, so this seems like the best option.

Before I started adding women to my harem, I first needed information about this world, so let's enter the kingdom and procure some knowledge instead of wondering in the woods and dying to a goblin.

Walking up to the gates of the stone wall I was able to finally see how tall it really was, the walls of the stone barrier were at least 25 meters tall and it continuously wrapped around the kingdom with only a giant metal gate as the entrance.

"phewwww" I whistled, "I can't believe aliens built this."

Walking closer to the gate I saw on the right side of the gate people in single file line, some with wagons pulled by creatures that looked like an athletic ox with longer legs and a shotgun barrel snout, others people were on foot in groups wearing armor, robes, and carrying weapons, I also noticed a few families in the mix of adventurers and merchants, some on foot, others in carriages.

Another thing I noticed, was the line was long as shit.

At the front of the line knights in armor with an embroidered symbol on them were doing thorough checks of each individual that wished to enter.

"Aughhh this is gonna take forever, but I already knew that my goal would have many roadblocks ahead, so this would be an opportunity to show my perseverance and dedication."

So I hopped in line behind a party of adventurers.

The adventurers in front of me looked to be a knight with a shield and sword, an archer holding a crossbow, a mage with a wooden staff with a crystal adjourned at the top, and a swordsman in light armor.

'Hmm, well I am gonna be waiting here a while, maybe I should ask one of them about this world, it couldn't hurt'

"Excuse me miss"

The mage holding the staff turned around to look at who called for her, she was about 158 centimeters tall with long lavender hair and dark blue eyes, she looked about 20 and she was definitely more cute than hot, she was a pleasant sight.

"Yes?" She asked curiously.

'Thank god or gods she can understand me and I can understand her' I praised inwardly

"I'm sorry, I'm not from around here, I come from a small village, so I haven't been able to receive much education, so I was hoping I arrived at the right location, what kingdom is this?" I asked.

"We're at the Kingdom of Breufidem, the center of the human domain." she informed me.

"Yep, that's where I was headed, good to know I didn't overshoot it" I said casually.

There was a pause of silence as the mage just stared at me.

"Soooooooooooooo, lot of people entering the kindgom, is it normally this crowded?" I asked.

"Do you really not know why it would be this crowded." the swordsman said with an irritated tone whilst slightly stepping between me and the mage.

He was about eye level with myself, and had brown short hair that was ruffled around his head, and his amber eyes would make him good looking if he wasn't starring daggers at me.

"Nope, not really, again small village, lived most of my life as a radish farmer, so if you want to know about radishes, I got you covered, but world knowledge, I'm pretty new to it"

The swordsmen then sighed and turned away whilst saying.

"Cassia, don't talk to people like him, you'll only lower your IQ."

Cassia the mage gave me a apologetic look and turned to face the front of the line as well.

'Whelp, there goes gathering information, I could ask the knight or archer, but the archer seemed to be scrutinizing his crossbow and the knight, well the knight was stoic, and I didn't feel like dealing with that right now, also I didn't need the swordsmen getting angrier at me and trying to fight me, so instead I just decided to wait for the line to move'

Finally after what felt like an hour passed, I was at the front of the line.

'Time to enter the first checkpoint of my journey.'
