I will strive beyond this cursed bloodline!
Chapter 50: WHERE THE HELL IS MY DEUS EX MACHINA?!?!?

Chapter 50: WHERE THE HELL IS MY DEUS EX MACHINA?!?!?

"I was too hasty," Beatrice said first with a sigh, her [Core] still on Elizabeth's hand. "I thought it would be fine so long Mom was fine, so long you stayed around."

Beatrice placed both hands atop Rossie's and squished, "I know how important you are Elizabeth, how much talent and might you wield. How even though you should be angry, furious as you are kicked down each time. You still strive forward." Should...should Elizabeth be angry?

She of course knew all of that, the fact that only by right of her parents she was talented both in mind and body. This was double, so now she had a body that was fully synced with her Soul.

But, she felt as if this was a rib at her.

On most stories or tales, anyone with half of the things that Elizabeth had would be a protagonist.

Daughter of the most powerful man in history? Main character material.

Daughter of the most powerful Witch (magical girl) in history? Main character material.

Daughter to both? Same.

Reincarnation of a scion in another world? Sounds about right.

Reincarnated as the opposite sex? She was not sure if someone would read that, and to be honest, she wasn't that sure it applied to her. She never identified as either a man or as Alexanders(Yuck). But it was a thing she had.

Past life as a Dragon. Yeah, that alone was good enough.

Past life as a God. Did this apply? She felt as if it should apply.

Having two entities residing within your Soul? That felt as if it was the wrong genre, but she was sure there was a story to be told about someone like that.

And, of course, there were the more 'Normal' aspects of her life. She had a hot(mentally deranged) girlfriend, a pet with eighth-grade syndrome (Nyxfyre The Twilight Dragon of the End), and, of course, the fact that an intelligent being had turned her planet into something that looked more like a videogame than reality.

And yet...

She was not better than before, if anything she was worse.

She should have enough Fate to be happy and have things go her way, but here she was, failing to heal Beatrice. Failing to heal... someone important to her girlfriend.

She was not sure what to think about Beatrice, to be honest... She never much saw Beatrice as anything more than one of her Minions. Granted Rossie had that thing where she acted as if the little girl was their daughter.

But to Elizabeth, Beatrice was that helpful Minion... And that was it, she never saw any of her Minions as anything more, granted she loved and cared for them, but that was more of a.. mascot type of thing. Or of course, like Stabby.

She still missed Stabby.

"You will be great Elizabeth, if not now, in the future." Beatrice said turning to Elizabeth, "I know it, the Shadow Dragons know it...Mom knows it, Lady Rena knows it. Even Lady Jenna and Lady Aura know it."

Of course she would, she had Rossie and Rena supporting her, and the help from all her Minions...

"You will be there too you know." Elizabeth said, "You only need to help us Heal you."

Elizabeth was sure that as long as Beatrice did her best, it would be solved.

"But I will not be there to see it, I can't be. I will not...can not... Return to how it was before." Beatrice however shook her head, "I did something that is unforgivable...I desired more."

What?

"What?" Elizabeth couldn't help but ask.

Hadn't she...wanted less? She wanted to not be a Minion anymore, how was that asking for more?

"Whatever you wish, we will grant it. I will steal, kill, murder, and burn to get it." Rossie said from the back between sobs, "Please...don't leave."

Rossie sounded...so hurt.

"I will get it, even if I need to get into debt from Mother." Elizabeth nodded, she didn't want to do that, but this was important. Rossie's happiness was important, and so was securing Beatrice.

"I wanted to be your daughter, Mom," Beatrice said, stunning both Rossie and Elizabeth.

"Aren't you...?" Elizabeth said confused. She was that already right?

"You will always be," Rossie said too, "No matter what."

"Had I managed to kill That lizard bitch." Beatrice said slowly, " You would have hated me, cursed me, and probably died afterward."

That...

"But you didn't, so it doesn't matter," Rossie said after missing a beat.

But Elizabeth couldn't refute it, if Rossie was anything to go by...

"Ah," Elizabeth understood it now, these Valkyries, "That is why you made them...They...they are part of my bloodline, right? That is why they are alive and independent."

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

Elizabeth understood it now, and now that she knew what to look for, it was easier to get them to show into her senses. She only needed to tweak them to perceive her own bloodline. She hadn't done that before since it was annoying to feel herself, funnily enough she wasn't feeling Aura... Even though the girl should have one of her doppelganger bodies...

"Yes Elizabeth," Beatrice nodded, "The Valkyries are born from your bloodline, they are purely born from you with no taint from anything else, from the most pure drop of blood divided into fourteen bodies, gestated within the deepest part of your Soul and bathed into the purest nodes of mana from the Shadow Haven."

That sounded quite elaborate.

"They are the closest thing you have to daughters without actually having one yourself," Beatrice said, trying to look back to Rossie but being stopped by the pink-haired hug. "They were to be two things, the killers of Elizabeth..."

"And the only link I would have to Elizabeth...If I woke up without Elizabeth around...I would look for her, and when I was unable to find her. I would then look for her bloodlife..." Rossie said slowly, "Only to find fourteen girls that resemble Elizabeth and have parts of her...These are your attempts to make me live without Elizabeth."

"Yes..." Beatrice didn't refute that, "I also planned to have Lady Rena support you, while you supported her. You two could live with each other and have a future...While I...wasted away with the Shadow Haven..."

Yeah...Elizabeth...wasn't quite sure what to think. One thing was to hear someone wanted to murder her (Or had tried to murder her), and another was finding out the intricate plan by which her girlfriend would survive.

"Well...Is that why they glare at me like that?" Elizabeth asked, waving at the Valkyries. "They don't or won't be able to kill me anymore, so maybe...calm down?"

"They are getting used to you, acquiring more power, and preparing in turn for if you go into a rampage." Beatrice waved them off, "They are Mom's protectors, as such any danger to her is analyzed and prepared for."

Wait, weren't they the closest thing to daughters she had? Why the hell did they hate her and protect Rossie more then?!?!? Not that she minded that, of course.

"So? Why does that matter? Nothing happened! Why must you accept death? With Elizabeth around so long, the Soul is fine, and you will be able to return!" Rossie screamed from the back, "Just accept it and let me scold you!"

...

"It only works like that to people that are alive, we minions are different." Beatrice said once more, "We are bound to our Cores, and from there to Elizabeth. Should our Core survive we can be immortal. But in turn, should our Core be hurt. We dissapear."

"And that is why you are so sure you will die since your Core is this cracked." Elizabeth finished what Beatrice was saying, "So what, what was the deal with that thing of you asking for a wish then!?!?"

Elizabeth didn't like this.

She had been toyed by Fate, by The World, by Ethan and Akira!

She had even been toyed around by her past life Alexanders and his Sister Alexa!

Now even one of her Minions was playing her all along? This was not fair, if her life was to be like a story then she demanded her Deus Ex Machina moment!

She wanted this to work out as she wanted!

"Because even at this moment, when I am the most disgraceful of all your Minions...I wish for something, too." Beatrice started speaking summoning back to her the Core that had been on Elizabeth's hands, "I want you to Devour my Core."

"I beg you pardon?" Elizabeth said confused, "You want me to...eat you?"

"NO!" Rossie said from the back, "...No."

"I want you to fully Devour my Core, My soul, my everything, to subsume within your Domain and let me join the circle of transmigration that you are creating." Beatrice continued speaking. "I want to, perhaps one day in the future to reincarnate as a normal girl, to live a normal life, and maybe... maybe be born to Mom. Not as a Minion or a servant, but as a daughter."

....So that's what she meant.

"You don't need to do that! You can stay!" Rossie said, still crying from behind, "I promise to be a better Mother!"

"...Will that work?" Elizabeth asked not to Beatrice, but inwardly.

Depends on what you define by "Will it work"

Can we stick Beatrice into our Circle of reincarnation? Yes.

Will that fulfill her wish? Depends on where she is born and the form.

So far your Circle of Reincarnation just turns people into Minions or Summons.

Your Minions/Summons are different from the norm, so they could qualify as spirits or demons at this point, depending on who you ask.

Also, as Alice just explained. We could try to stick her on the backburner and give her a more human body later.

Maybe as the daughter of someone who can love her? She is quite pitiful after all.

"Eli-Eli?" Rossie spoke from the back again. "Can you...save her?"

Dang it Rossie...

"Let me...Let me try something." Elizabeth said, she needed to do something she had not wanted to do. Something she had sworn she would never even attempt to do.

Elizabeth closed her eyes and felt around, she was searching for a type of Mana. One that she had never used nor attempted to make, it was an alternated version of her Lightning.

She had access to several strands of Lightning. For starter it was hers, one that had an Azure hue, the one she used the most. After that, it was The Thunder Queen lightning, this was golden and the one she had used to defeat [The Shadow Tide].

Then...there was the third she didn't want to touch if possible. The one she started channeling around her as she pooled more and more Mana into her Core, "Heed my call...Brighter than the light that birthed the universe...This is the thunder that bridges the light of Science with Knowledge!" The one she infused into the chant as she raised her right arm and pointed forward.

She was attempting to call upon...Alexanders.

Or what had remained of him on her body, be it as a memory, a ghost or a devil. Anything of the asshole.

"Come out you asshole, I know you left something there!" Elizabeth screamed as she pooled all the Mana that answered in a single spot and willed the creation of a Doppelganger of the blonde asshole so he could move around.

"...There is nothing there, right?" One of the Valkyrie's spoke at the back. A single glare from Elizabeth was enough to remind them that they were being edgy and fuzzy at the moment.

"God damned asshole." Elizabeth grumbled as nothing came out of her summon; she had even used his stupid chant! "Fine, be like that!"

"More silent than the darkness sleeping at the bottom of the sea.........that is the shadow burning deep within the melody of science!" Elizabeth chanted immediately as she focused on the next one; she was sure that Alexa hadn't died or anything. She had not seen the little girl since the advent, but she knew that she hadn't imploded and turned into nourishment for her! So she should be around! "Come out Alexa!"

So she turned and tried to summon the little gremlin.

And nothing came out either.

"AAAAAAGH!!!" Elizabeth screamed while pulling at her hair. "...I ran out of ideas."

Elizabeth admited as she found what it felt to be defeated, she hated it. It was worse than when she almost got defeated by Akira or when she got possessed by Ethan...

Hell, being almost defeated by [The Shadow Tide] couldn't compare against this, in any of those situations Elizabeth could have probable escaped if she had attempted, but at this?

"Rossie...I'm sorry..." She couldn't salve the little girl.

"...Will..." Rossie spoke slowly, "Will she return to us?"

Would she?

As far as she knew yes.

"I'm sure we will see her again later...Even if not as a Minion." Elizabeth answered, "You don't want to return as another Minion right?"

"No," Beatrice answered. "If possible not as a Minion...and not for fights or servitude...I...I want a normal life. I'm tired of this..."

Yeah, having a normal life was the best...Elizabeth would dance when she managed to get one too.

"Well...There is no good way to do this." Elizabeth said standing up and walking to Beatrice, she ignored the looks of the Valkyrie girls, she wasn't in the mood to deal with them. "Beatrice...It was a pleasure knowing you, I hope next time we have a better time."

And with that said Elizabeth took the Core once again into her hands, it felt heavy. So heavier than before.

"I also hope next time you will answer what I am to you, Elizabeth," Beatrice said, turning back to look at Rossie, "And I hope next time we can look at each other, truly."

"I...I'm sorry," Rossie said as tears fell from her eyes, "I'm sorry for not being a good Mom."

"Elizabeth, if you will." Beatrice, instead of answering, said, "I am sure your next daughter will have a fantastic time; please love her as much as possible, if not for me. For her."

And it was there that Elizabeth felt the Core on her hands tremble, it was time. "You are grounded Beatrice," Elizabeth said as she placed the Core into her mouth, "For making me and Rossie sad."

*Crunch*

It was like that how the Core of Beatrice was turned into motes of light that seemed to be alive, they behaved as if they wanted to fly to Rossie and Elizabeth.

But Elizabeth did not let them, even though she felt as if the motes of light were parts of both her and Rossie's Soul... Even though accepting them back would give her more power and help Rossie heal...

Elizabeth instead focused on the small parts that were mixed with them, the small and frail Soul that would die without the support of those motes of lights; she willed them to hug the small and frail Soul...

To soothe and guard it, Elizabeth welcomed this frail and little Soul into her, she would revive her. Perhaps...perhaps next time Beatrice would have a happier time.

"Will...we see her again?" Rossie asked turning to look at Elizabeth, her eyes puffed out and red.

"Yes, I'm sure." Elizabeth answered, she felt something within change. Was it the fact that this was the first Soul that she willingly took and did not let be processed by her skills?

If focused she could feel Beatrice's Soul at the back, waiting.

And something else solidified, a temple. A place that could keep Beatrice's Soul stable while Elizabeth decides what to do.

She hated it, she hated all of this. A cruel end to a little girl who just wanted to make sure her Mother would not do something stupid.

A sad ending to what should be a successful mission...

"Mistress? We need to talk." And if that was not all, Reginald arrived with a folder on his hands.

"Elizabeth! We need to move...what happened?" And Jenna arrived right after.

"I hate it here." Elizabeth couldn't help but voice her thoughts.
