Hello again! Welcome to my new story. I am sure that someone will like it, hopefully. Anyway, it is the first time using tables so I apologize if they are bad and/or boring. Without further ado here is the first chapter. (This does not mean that Re:Exiled Royalty stopped its just slow because I need to rewrite a lot because my memory stick has been 'misplaced')

What is this strange feeling?

I could have sworn I had just died...

I am small now... There are... foxes? Why are there foxes? There are two foxes a male and a female. How did I know that? Is it a guess? Now there are more foxes...

I had the sudden realisation of what had happened. I was reincarnated as a fox. Though I still retain my memories they are very hazy. I at a table, I don't know by what it was just a sudden great pain in the back of my head then everything stopped and here I am.

Hungry... Tired... Sad... I cannot control myself...

I would get fed, be left alone and play, for what felt like a year without any input from me. It was all instinctive. By the time I got any input father had died or gone away.

We live in a burrow though whenever one of my siblings go towards the exit mother stops them. There is me, mother, two brothers and a sister and I'm male, I think. My family all have an orange and red fur coat whereas I have a black and red coat.

Mother would bring back food while we played in the den. When we ate it would occasionally give me boosts in stats like +1 to intelligence, wisdom or strength in a blue window that would go away after I had read it.

Mother has been gone for a few hours now, I wonder if she is going to bring back food. After a few minutes of playing with my siblings, there was loud footsteps and vibrations in the earth. We all looked each other and had the same worried look on our faces.(Don't ask me how that works)

A blue table was in the middle of my view and I had no idea how to make it go away. But as I was thinking of trying to get it away it vanished. It looks like it will go away when I think about it, I wonder if it works the other way too.

Back to the matter at hand, there was loud footsteps and mother was gone. To where I don't know and why is also oblivious to me also. I was frozen in fear of what was to come. Luckily myself and my siblings did not make any moves and was not found so whatever it was just passed by.

Thinking back on what had happened before I thought more in depth about the blue screens. In my last world, there was things like them in games, so I tried the normal method of opening them and thought of the word 'status' and then this showed.

To get a name you must meet the conditions:

Why? Just... why? I have to become a pet or an elite, otherwise I am just another fox? Hmm... Maybe its not all that bad. I mean this blessing of the god of evolution should help... But why is there no gender? Do I have to wait until later on in life to find out if I was right? Something else maybe?

Mother is back with meat. I'm hungry. After dinner, I went to sleep.

I wake up to the sound of more footsteps, this time, they are more near the den.

I know that there is danger, stupid alert... The footsteps are drawing nearer and nearer the den. As my place to sleep is darker than the rest it should be safer if I just stay there, not moving a muscle. As they footsteps draw near to the point that they are just outside the den they stop.

After I concentrate on the words I get a screen pop up

Ok, I know what they were saying, a bit… Though I cannot move from fear, I can only pray that they will not spot me or do not want to harm me…

The ground is getting moved from near the entrance of the den. After about a minute the tree from above us come crashing down to earth revealing mother and the rest of my family, with the exception of me. Mother had just woken up, it was too late, as soon as the tree had fallen over a man had a sword at the ready and had killed her… No time to let her respond from the tree falling over.

Before they left they took mother's carcass and… lifted the tree back in place!!!??? God, what a day…

I decided to wait another 20 minutes to make sure they were gone and decided to go hunt because I was hungry. After about 2 minutes I came across a white rabbit-like creature which was roughly half the size of me. The rabbit had a crooked and broken horn, it did not seem all that dangerous to start off with and it already looked half dead.

Even though it may have been a bad idea because whatever it was it had probably already killed something so it had more experience than me there. But it is sleeping so I will take my chances.

I silently moved towards the creature, when over it I bit at its neck. It woke up as I bit but I had it in my jaws and there was nothing it could do, it died several seconds after I bit it.

The rabbit oddly satisfied my hunger even though it was raw, I guess it was a perk of being an animal now. The horn was oddly chewy though after I thought it may taste nice, it wasn’t the best though I could still heat so I did. After I had eaten the rabbit a blue screen popped up

A shadow fox which has consumed a horned elite monster can become this monster.

Opposed to the normal shadow fox the horned shadow fox has a better affinity to magic.

The horned shadow fox has a horn in the middle of its head made from magical fibres.[Thorned Shadow Fox]

A shadow fox who has consumed a guardian of nature monster is able to become this monster.

The thorned variant of this creature gets a coat ability which will damage a monster which attacks the creature.

The thorned shadow fox has spike-like hairs in the body which stand on end when threatened.

I chose the thorned variant because it seemed to be helpful for sleeping safely knowing anything that comes near will get hurt. A second later after choosing the [Thorned Shadow Fox] my body was in great pain. It must be the effects of evolving…

After I woke up my body felt stronger. On close inspection, my coat had longer spikes which seemed to go with the flow of my hair but were a purple colour opposed to my coat which was black.

It was now dark so I went back to the den and slept.
