Walking up to the orbs David, looked at Rosseler for confirmation.
"that's it. Just put your hand above the five orbs, then they will do the rest." Rosseler instructed.
Watching David Walk up to the table gave a sense of nostalgia to Kol as he remembers his time with Nicole.
----
"C'mon. you're the only one I know who can do this." Nicole says dragging Kol by the hand as they run.
"I could get in trouble for this Nic." Kol says as he tries to catch up to her.
The two find their way behind the orphanage. There is a big tree apple tree that the orphans play in but this time Kol told them not to bother them for a while.
Reading the book Nicole brought with her. It was one of the most advanced books in magic Kol has ever read, but thankfully before getting caught up in all of the information, Nicole told Kol on what page to turn to because that was what her sister told her before she left for the academy.
Turning to page 876, Kols took his time reading and after a few minutes he took the bag from Nicole.
"It's says here that I should set the orbs in a circular pattern with space in the middle." Laying out the orbs as written in the page, Kol could see the excitement from Nicole's face as she patiently waits for Kol to finish.
"What happens if this blows up in our face?" Kol asked. Hoping that it might change Nicole's decision to do this, but he knows it isn't enough. Kol knows Nicole is too stubborn and when she sets her mind on things it is almost impossible to change her mind.
"that's not gonna happen." She says. "I've already seen this before with my sister it not going to blow up."
"You've seen actual wizards do this for an official ceremony. Not your frail young friend." Kol comments still writing the runes along the orbs. Despite the Danger Kol is also intrigued at what the outcome will be since this is the first time, that he can actually apply something he read.
Finishing all the runes around the crystals, Kol moves back as he instructs Nicole.
"Alright. Now you just need to walk up and place your hand over the space between the orbs and wait till it glows." Kols says reading the book.
Stolen novel; please report.
Walking up the circle with the orbs Nicole places her hand over the orbs and waited. Then two orbs glowed with their respective blue and red color. The glow itself was beautiful, but nothing could compare in Kol's young heart than Nicole smiling and bathed in blue and red.
"Yes! I'm gonna be a wizard!" Nicole says while jumping with glee.
Looking at the book in front of him. Kol smiles as he thinks about reading the book more. Kol loved to read, he started only because he needed to look for answers or cure to his curse, but eventually he fell in love with it. The thought of being able to produce magic that can shape reality just by reading, brough a source of inspiration for Kol. But before he could think further his thoughts are interrupted.
"She's over here!"
They both turn and see coming from the corner of the orphanage 3 city guards come running, clad in leather and a metal helmet carrying spears.
"Run!" Nicole shouts as she takes of running.
"What?" Kol asked not prepared for these types of situations.
"Dropped the book and run!"
Kol looks back at the guards running towards him.
"Shit!" Kol screams dropping the book and started to run.
---
"Wow." Rosseler claps.
David's crystals displaying the bright colors of blue and black. The glow still new to Kol, but he claps as well.
"Multicolored individuals are not uncommon. like I said, you can acquire other colors later on with practice, but having multiple colors already of the bat is rare." Said Rosseler as he points towards the elf.
David sitting down look s happy after hearing what Rosseler said. If that is the case then Nicole is more special than I thought. Kol thinks to himself.
"I've already been tested." The elf says. "My name is June; I am a three colored individual having the aptitude with blue, red, and green. I want to become a Wizard."
The room fell silent at what June said. David and Kol are mesmerized at the thought that they are classmates with someone as gifted as her. Rosseler smiles from ear to ear.
"Looks like it's going to be an easy year for me." he laughs as he takes another sip of his coffee. "you're next young man."
Walking up to the table Kol could feel the tension. He knows he isn't as great as his fellow classmates, at this point he'll be happy with just one color especially if it's blue, since blue is the prerequisite color for being a wizard. Even if he doesn't have the color blue, he's still comforted by the fact that Rosseler can still teach him how to gain the color.
Kol puts his hand in the space just like Nicole did before then, closes his eyes. There is no use is thinking about it now, all I can hope for is that at least one of the orbs should glow.
The bright light from the orbs is all too familiar to Rosseler, as he's smile now bigger than ever.
"Woah!" David exclaimed.
June now more intrigued at the person in front of her, who is this person in front of her? Where did he come from? She asks herself now considering Kol as her competition.
Kol opens his eyes and to his surprise, not just one or two of the orbs are glowing but all 5 of them.
Kol takes his hands off and bright light dies. How? I've been in home reading all my life only until 5 years ago when I met Nicole. What could I have done to gain all 5 colors or could it be because of something else? The thoughts running through Kol's mind.
"Well, it looks like my hunch is correct. This will be a relaxing year for me." Rosseler says.
