I’ve been having the same dream every day for the past ten days. That’s right, it’s been ten days since I was reborn in this world. You want to know how I’ve been doing?! Aww! How kind of you!!!

Let me tell you…cough... I’ve been lazing around all day long!!! Eating! Sleeping! Well, I don’t really have to use the washroom thanks to being genderless! What? Are you telling me that doesn’t have anything to do with being genderless?

How dare you say such vulgar things to such a beautiful maiden like me?! …maidemon?... no not mad demon! well anyway, don’t ask me those kinds of questions because I have no clue how my body even works! …sigh… that doesn’t change the fact that I am missing something very important from my body.

Do you want to know what I’m doing right now? I’m sleeping on my throne!!! Thanks to my genderless body, I can sleep so peacefully anytime and anywhere I want! Hehehe…isn’t that nice? People are going to envy me? Of course, they are! But what can they do about it?! Why? It’s obviously because I am the Demon Lord!!!

It's not like I haven’t been doing anything useful for the past few days. You do remember Sapphire and Ruby, right? ...my wittle Birdy and Spidy! Ruby the crow…that’s right! Ruby’s actually a white crow! He’s got the ability to control any crow he wants, there is an abundance of ravens in this world with all the dead bodies around so it isn't unnatural to see them flying around. I can easily monitor the demon realm while sitting here all day long! And I've also been trying to sneak some into the human realm hoping I could get some info on their economic standing and the geography. It'd be helpful later on for us if we can't achieve peace with them.

I indeed want to achieve peace with them, but that doesn't mean I'll put my demons in danger's way. Protecting them comes first, even if it means invading the human realm. From the information I've gathered, the church seems to be the mastermind in marking all demons as enemies of humanity. They do generally look down on demihumans and half-humans or whatnot.

They've got a church in each village and they literally scream around that demons are monsters that we don't deserve to live and that humans are favored by god. All the typical things people do to degrade another race or species or whatever.

Everything that a crow under Ruby’s command sees, and listens to is directly sent to my mind, thanks to my photographic memory (I guess I got hyperthymesia or something from my reincarnation?) I can easily recall and monitor a vast number of movements in the demon realm. Oh! I can also do huge calculations and stuff in an instant. Might I be a genius?!

This only applies to the current state of the demon realm, and there’s a vast amount of information that enters my mind, and it’s a really big pain to organize and maintain all that information in my brain.

And that’s where sapphire comes in, sapphire can easily produce an infinite number of spider eggs (which obviously hatch and turn into spiders! And no! It doesn’t lay eggs; it produces them out of thin air thanks to magic!). These spiders are sort of like my own offspring, I hate to say this, but yes, this is something like asexual reproduction. (They gotta defeat Papa if they want my babies! ...or maybe Mama?)

Sapphire isn’t particularly the only one capable of laying eggs, all the spiders connected to me are capable of doing so and it absolutely does not involve sexual reproduction, all the spiders are capable of producing eggs and these spiders are capable of evolving the way I want them to.

For example, if I want some spiders to clean my room, I could easily produce a breed of spiders specialized in cleaning. Likewise, I could produce groups of spiders specialized in spatial magic (my specialty), physical combat, elemental magics like; fire, water, wind, earth, and even light and dark magic. Since my affinity for healing magic is pretty low, I can’t really produce spiders well-versed in healing magic.

It seems as though my body can automatically heal itself, but I am incapable of healing others with my magic. But if it’s an emergency I can easily heal large wounds by inflicting damage on myself, well that would eventually heal on its own but it’s still pretty risky. So I was planning on having some spiders made for that purpose; to inflict damage on myself while healing others, but even though it was a pretty logical idea the DCs vehemently rejected it.

And Freya started bawling out about it and I had no option but to keep it a secret from them. It'd be bad if they found out.

Right now, Sapphire and his lackeys are currently going through piles of history books in the library and organizing them. Thanks to the connected consciousness all that organized information is constantly flowing through my mind. The old geezers who were taking care of the demon realm were simply put; Scum!

They were selfish and waged war on humanity like it was nothing. And they didn't care about their people one bit.

Freya who was also with me, looked at me with a worried expression, “Is something the matter, Acedia-sama?”

I turned around on my couch… cough…throne, and stared at her for a while, which made her blush a little. I turned around again and looked at the ceiling above me. …sigh… I let out a heavy sigh again.

“Aren’t you guys going to blame me for just lazing around like this while you’re all working so hard to keep the demon realm safe?”

Lucifer stepped forward while clenching his fist tightly with concern in his eyes, “Of course not, Acedia-sama. We are well aware that you have been going through a lot during these past few days, and please forgive me for not being able to be of help to you, Acedia-sama.”

I guess they know about my frequent dreams. I dream of the blue-haired girl every night and as time passes, it feels like I can feel a lot more of her feelings...the only feelings she showed were sorrow. It was clear that she's been through a lot but I didn't feel a shred of hatred in her, nor does she regret her decisions...but there's still that emptiness in her heart which eats her up.

I let out a soft smile, “I see…thank you, Lucifer”

Freya noticed me smiling at Lucifer and puffed out her cheeks with jealousy, “Humph! Besides, we’ve already seen Acedia-sama’s spiders going through all those books and documents in the library.”

“Oh! Hahaha…I did tell everyone not to bother them too much didn’t I?” I put my bare feet on the cool floor and gazed at the humongous door at the end of the huge hall, while Lucifer and Freya were sitting on either side of me. All six of the DCs insisted on standing when they were in my presence, but I kept nagging about it to them and they finally agreed to sit on their seats when they were alone with me.

“By the way you two, why is it that the two of you never go to the front lines?”

Freya gave a wry smile when I asked her that question, “Well, Lucifer here just doesn’t know how to hold back when going against his opponents and massacres every single one of the enemy forces. While my charm ability lets me control everyone and I could just tell them to kill themselves which would allow them to happily move on, so...”

This time it was me who smiled back at her wryly, “I see…ha-haha” …I guess I’ve been relaxing a little too much that it made me completely forget that the people around me are total monsters themselves.

It’s not like I can just sit here all day long lazing around, “Lucifer!”

“Yes? Acedia-sama?”

“I’ll be heading out in secret; I want you to make preparations.” Lucifer and Freya happily smiled at me when they heard those words.

“But where would you like to go to, Acedia-sama?”

“Hmmm…” where would I like to go huh? hmm… the food here is not that good, I doubt there’d be anything like an amusement park here either, well…if we’re talking about a fantasy world you’ve got to go there right?

“Alright! I’ve decided! We're heading out to a weapon shop!!!”
