Mmmmmm…
(I heard meditation is good for calming.)
Though I wouldn't call this actual meditation since I'm walking at the same time, but I mean… as long as i am doing so in spirit?
Honestly, who cares…
Currently i am trekking up the hill towards the mountain as i should be. By taking notice of the animals movements before hand, i could predict when a downhill draft would happen. Within that time frame, i would hide behind the biggest cluster of trees or a big enough rock while covering myself with the cloak.
KklRrrr.rrreeeiii
Once again, a bird cry was heard, this time with a rolling R sound, signalling the impending disaster.
Hopping to safety being a rock, i waited for the gust of wind to hit the rock.
WHOOSH…
A sharp whistling sound was heard as the wind passed by my ears.
Then, in about 20 seconds, the rumble caused by the trees happened. The snow i was crouching on slid downhill, I quickly lied on the snow performing a pencil roll which I would have never thought would ever been useful in my life.
Doing this covered me in snow, but it was better than tripping over and snowballing down a hill.
BANG. -Cling
As much as i am glad that the wind stopped when this happened, it was much louder compared to last time, perhaps it was because i was against the ground. Getting my eardrums hammered with load uncoordinated sounds is certainly not a pleasant experience.
(Is this what music teachers hear when they teach music class… if so, i pity them.)
…
As i went further up the hill, finding trees covered with rime ice became more and more common, with the wind also getting stronger, decreasing the temperature further.
My expression was paling with a blue tinge similar to yesterday. I knew my limits and backed off from the dangerous sloped areas near trees and thick snow.
Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
I opted for a more even ground that had big rocks in the area with trees that were located further from me but still concentrated in numbers. I had no idea if the lack of trees would affect whether the small avalanche would be stoped or not, but it was better to play it safe
So far, this looked like the best place to make a base so far. The flat land giving me reassurance that it would not collapse backwards tumbling me down.
A smaller concentration of trees next to me so that i am not at risk of being punctured to death but a large number of trees nearby to stop the collapse of the snow
finally the rocks that provide natural protection as barricades in case something goes wrong.
I had to make sure that i was safe from the wind and that i wasn't facing it head on.as well as securing a dry ground to rest on so that the clothes do not get any damper than it already was.
…
Before I knew it, my face was dyed blue, with snot dripping out, I held back a sneeze with a strained face.
I had caught a cold.
I got up, the wind was blowing past my ears at an increased speed, I fastened my walking pace and abandoned the safe zone I made.
It was the last stretch, just a few kilometres to the mountain and only a mountain to cross.
Yup only a mountain. Its ONLY a mountain. Only a mountain. Only a few km left. Only a few thousands more steps. Only a few hours.
As my thoughts weighed down my mind I had already reached where the storm surrounding the mountain was. Somehow avoiding the gusts of wind that flew past me several times and ignoring all the loud sounds that were occurring around me.
“..........”
“..l….a.v”
Wind gushed past my ears as words seemed to be heard within the chaos of the rushing wind.
“LEAVE”
A ginormous gush of wind hit me while I hid behind the tree. The familiar sound of something that sounded like words woke me up from my half hearted state.
(A voice?)
“why have you come here”
“H.e..l..p m.e”
A dry voice came out of my mouth as i felt my throat sting as i tried to speak
“Tch, a spirit that cant use telepathy or translation?”
The storm and wind around me quietened down
“I will ask you again, why have you come here?” The giant storm rumbled
Now that I could hear the voice clearly, it was definitely not English or any other language I knew of, but I could understand it somehow.
“Im seeking shelter”
A wind flowed past my ear, before a disapproving sound was heard and the surrounding wind suddenly became ravages.
Surrounding broken tree branches were uplifted in the newly formed tornado with my in the center. Flying debris cut me as i tried to cover myself.
“You have spoken a lie”
(Huh, what do you mean?!??)
“I'll only ask you one more time, WHY have you come here?”
Why? I told you why. No, maybe i wasn't clear enough
I thought. What was my motivation in the first place? I wasn't promised anything if I left this place. I didn't know what was beyond that mountain. I didn't have a desperate wish I wanted to fulfil.
…
Maybe it was just because I wanted to live.
A will to live…
No, i just wanted to see more of this new world. I wanted to explore and satisfy my curiosity.
…
Yup, nothing grand. Just a want to live and satisfy my curiosity. Nothing more nothing less
“I want to live and explore the world” i replied to the storm in a resolute voice
The wind road as it passed by my ears, making a slight ringing sound
“I see. You have spoken the truth, i shall let you pass.”
“Wait”
“Human, tou have the scent of death on you”
(The scent of death?)
“Simply put, death will come find you for as long as you are within his sight”
“here, a token of thanks”
A necklace flew into my hand. It was opaque and of a similar shape to the crystal I had.
Before I could ask about it, a huge gust of wind flung me through the tornado and over the mountain while protecting me from any debris in the way.
As I was being embraced in the wind, my wounds healed and my dry throat cleared up, with my cold receding, I saw a faint white glow in my arm.
……..
Pov:???
“I have done what you told me to, now please leave. Your very existence is disrupting the balance of this world”
The voice of the storm echoed within the tornado.
“Dont make such a fuzz about it you geezer. Once i settle my business here I'll leave” the middle aged man said
He was wearing a black robe that seemed to be tailored specially and decorated with lines of tiny gems that wrapped around it. His hands and legs were made out of metal of sorts, and
a strange glow surrounded his body which seemed to block the wind and debris.
“I placed a timer on him, i'll make sure he's the last one”
