Chapter 0.5

Soon after the truck hit, everything went black and nothing could be seen for quite a while. Or was it shortly, time seemed to feel off and distorted. All that she knew was that after a period of time passed, she could open her eyes again. Whether that time was a second, a minute, hours, days, or even years; she would never know.

In front of her there was a figure which she could barely make out. Weirdly enough even though there were purple lights streaking inside their hood, the figure’s face was completely obscured by a deep shadow. The black hoodie they wore was surprisingly modern looking on top of what seemed to be a simple pair of washed out jeans.

  “Sadie.”

She couldn’t help but quickly look up to where she assumed the figures eyes were when they said her name. It was weird how even hearing them speak didn’t cue her into what the gender of the figure before her could be.

“W-What? How do you know my name?” How she hated that her voice broke a little. That one break ruined any chance she had of not seeming nervous.

If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

“Could you stop being so nervous? Its annoying. I promise I don’t bite...much. I need you for a little request though.” Bright teeth could be seen shining beneath the hood. Bright with pointed canines that seemed to shine unnaturally.

“Request?” She really didn’t like the sound of a request from a mysterious figure with glowing hair and teeth.

“Yes a request. You are going to be sent to a new world. One filled with fantasy and magic just like those pathetic stories and shows you wasted your life watching. My request is that you do something simple for me. If you can do that then I will grant you my blessing and give you what you would call a ‘cheat’ so that you can fulfill it.”

Ummmmmm. That doesn’t really explain much at all.

  “Will you fulfill my request?”

I’m starting to really wonder what this request even entails. Considering that the figure still hasn’t told her anything about what she’d have to even do to complete their request.

“Are you sure you should be dawdling as you are? Your lover doesn’t have that much more time left to survive.”

At that she jerked her head. “They’re still alive?”

“Yes, but not for long. Your decision?”

Her eyes narrowed and a strong determination welled up inside, “Sign me up for whatever your request is.”
