It took longer to get back to the city than it would have if I was by myself. Not that I had anywhere in particular to be. I mean if I can gain experience just by letting one of my passive skills do its thing then why not. Speaking of which, with all the still injured people riding along I managed to gain another 13 experience points passively. I also took this opportunity to escort them inside. At the rate I'm growing this will likely be my last chance to actually fit inside the city.
The guards did try to stop us but then the party spoke to them, and they let us pass. People inside the city gave us odd looks but nobody approached. Looking at the buildings I was able to learn a lot about this world. The town itself appeared to be divide into sections. The gate we entered from, being the southern gate, had residential buildings to one side of the street and what looked like a bunch of merchant stalls on the other side.
At one point the healer jumped down and began walking in front of me. As we walked, I could hear her saying something. I got the feeling she was talking to me, but I still couldn't understand her. I also didn't really have a way to let her know I couldn't understand her. So, I just walked along beside her while also letting her take the lead.
All the official buildings were apparently in the middle of town. At least all the really fancy looking buildings that weren't just larger versions of the residential buildings were. She stopped at one of the fancier looking building. Soon after the three others hopped down, and they all went into the building together. After which I decided to just lie down and just wait. Partly because I enjoyed the free experience points from healing them and wanted that to continue. Partly because I doubted that the city guards would let a creature like me just roam around unattended.
I'm also not an idiot, at my current rate of growth it most likely won't be long until there will be few things other than sapient species that can even give me experience points. At least around here anyway. After several hours, judging by the sun's progression across the sky, they all exit the building together. Instead of approaching me though, they all dispersed. All except the healer that is. She approached me and I could tell through body language that she wanted me to follow her. I have got to figure out her name. Even though nobody else can hear my thoughts it still feels wrong referring to her simple as 'the healer'.
Soon enough we make our way to a part of the city I've never seen. Heading down a few more streets we then come to an open field. Well, open field might be a bit of a stretch but it's large enough were three or four houses could fit if you were efficient with the space. At first, I think she just brought me here to sleep for the night. She doesn't go away to my surprise and confusion. Instead, it almost feels like she is waiting for something. Then I see a man approaching. He is dressed in a similar manner to the healer lady standing beside me. Checking his stats I see why though I probably could have guessed even without checking his stats.

The two healers talk for a while and then he leaves. She stays there talking to me gently. I wish I knew what she was saying. I have a sneaking suspicion I get an idea sooner or later. No sooner do I think that than the man returns with several people who look like they've seen better days. None of their wounds appear to be life threatening but there is a lot of them. Slowly the two healers begin to help them climb up and lay across my shell like a ... well, I would say human blanket but they're not all humans. After a while there is no more room on my shell, so they start just having the wounded lean against my shell. Sometime after that the notifications started.

It went on like this for close to four hours. Humans and beastkin alike getting healed. Then I noticed a problem. I was close to leveling up and getting closer with every heal notification. Normally I would be ecstatic. Right now, I was concerned that I would start to squash people when I leveled up. The problem is that they're all asleep seeing as it's now the middle of the night. I also don't want to scare them away before I actually get my level up. As my level up gets closer and closer I come to a decision. Slowly and carefully, I extend my legs. Once that's done, I begin to stand up as slowly as I can manage.
This works surprisingly well. All but a few of the ones who were leaning against my shell simply roll over and go back to sleep. A few of them however do actually wake up. They look around before focusing on me. I can tell by their expression that they are wondering why I stood up. Thankfully nobody draws their weapon. The ones on my shell don't notice anything.
A few minutes later I get the last experience point I need to level up. Hopefully I can avoid stepping on anyone as I grow into my new size.

This time I choose to receive the skill points. Healing Aura Is my cash cow at the moment so it makes sense to strengthen it.

My sudden growth spurt did cause a few people to draw their weapons but luckily nobody decided to attack.

As I Look for a spot to settle down, I also take a moment to study my new stats. A few things pique my interest immediately. First, I seemed to have moved up from a large turtle to a giant turtle. While I'm still not sure what that means exactly, I can't really argue with that assessment as I'm larger than any turtle on earth that I'm aware of. Perhaps there were turtles even bigger in the past, but I never really got into paleontology. I am also more than a little curious about what comes after giant turtle.
the Healing aura skill from what I can tell, given how vague the description actually was when I think about it, works similar to my regeneration skill except focused outward instead of inward. This means that people around me should recover faster. I'll have to do some careful observation to find out how much fast. The thing that really grabs my attention though is the new talent. Now I can finally have a conversation. Which is perfect timing really seeing as I have no idea how I'm getting out of here without using my earth manipulation skill. I barely fit down some of these side streets before I leveled up.
