Vert, Frederick, and their new Hawk friend walk out of the God of Sight’s room and are encountered by a pouting Emeralda. She is currently slouched over, leaning against a wall.
“What’s wrong pet?” Vert asks with a monotone voice. He has started to realize Emeralda seems to be all overthe place when it comes to her emotions, kinda like she is crazier than himself.
“Nothing.” Emeralda says back snappily. Vert raises an eyebrow but in the end just shrugs his shoulder and doesn’t realize what Emeralda really meant by that.
Vert looks over to see his hawk hunched forward, staring intently at Emeralda while also squinting its eyes in suspicion.
“What are you doing hawk, don’t tell me you’re going crazy too.”
‘It’s not that Master, it’s just there is something weird about this one.’
“Yeah, tell me about it.”
‘It’s not what you think Master. Are you sure you’re close with this woman?’
“She’s my pet, of course we are close. She is basically pet one and you’re pet two. Wait, are you trying to take her spot? I like your ambition.”
Emeralda perks up a little after hearing that she is close to Vert, but pouts again when hearing she is still a pet. On top of that, she has no idea who Vert is talking to and thinks the God of Death himself is insensitive and crazy at this point.
‘That’s not it, she has a weird power around her. I have seen it before but I can’t exactly remember when. It’s like there is a strong power residing within her that doesn’t belong, and there is another power that wraps around her neck like a collar. Attached to the collar seems to be a chain that leads somewhere.’
Vert shakes his head in confusion at these words. He squints as well but can only see a simple dragon girl sitting there pouting like a baby. The hawk sees Vert can’t see what it sees and gives Vert its vision.
Vert is shaken mentally at first when receiving the vision of the hawk, but is reassured by the hawk that this is its main power. Vert accepts this answer for now as he finally sees what the hawk is talking about.
An intimidating orb of power resides within Emeralda, yet seems to be forcefully implanted in there. On top of that, a collar made of red power is tightly bound around the dragon woman’s neck. Attached to the collar is a red chain that leads somewhere out of the room.
A deadly silence arises within the room and Emeralda sees anger start to rise in Vert. It is just like the time that he almost wiped her out, and she starts to run away screaming.
“Don’t kill me again dumbass! I was just pouting since I can’t join you to help you fight! That’s no reason to kill me!”
Frederick also notices this rise in power and grabs onto the shoulder of Vert.
“Master, what is wrong?!” Frederick yells, trying to snap Vert out of the angry state he is in.
“Someone dares to mess with my pet and put their marks on her…”
Vert catches up to Emeralda and grabs her by the shoulder to stop her from running away. She goes limp under the angry god’s grasp and lets him do whatever he wants without fighting back.
Vert uses the eyes of the Hawk on his shoulder to guide his hand as he reaches the collar. No matter how hard he tries to grab the collar though, he can’t seem to touch it. Vert is reluctant to use any major source of power to destroy it either since it would probably kill Emeralda once again.

Watching Vert mess with her neck, Emeralda’s mind starts to wonder about what Vert is doing. He seemed very angry, but the gentle caresses on her neck tell her that maybe he is finally seeing her more than a pet. However, before Emeralda can return the ‘kindness’, Vert lets go of the woman and turns around with a hand to his chin.
“I don’t know who chained you Emeralda, but I will find who did so and free you from your binds.”
The use of her name catches Emeralda off guard and she ignores the rest of Vert’s message. Emeralda blushes, yet as Frederick watches he can’t seem to understand why.
Frederick can’t understand why Emeralda is so infatuated with the God of Death. Sure he is very strong, but he doesn’t seem very interested in women, nor does he seem like the loving type. However, at least he seems to care about his friends since after finding out that something messed with Emeralda, Vert seems to be intensely infuriated.
Vert walks up to Frederick and explains the situation about the collar, but Frederick doesn’t know what to do either. If Vert couldn’t break it, Frederick is not even close to confident in being able to touch the thing.
“Well, I guess that’ll be next on our agenda after we check the other four rooms in here.”
Vert smiles to himself when thinking about the other he could gain. Going onto the next room, Vert opens it with pure confidence and high expectations.
*30 minutes later*
“Well, that was fucking disappointing.”
Vert is now like how Emeralda was when they left the God of Sight’s room, pouting. Frederick laughs nervously as he really doesn’t like Vert being in anything but a good mood. He doesn’t know too much about his Master and just prays he is not the sadistic type when he is upset.
The reason Vert has also gotten into a sour mood is because the past three rooms that are supposed to have representatives inside were completely empty. It seems that they had left this cursed dungeon a long time ago. Those three people were The Goddess of Rage, The Goddess of Storms, and The God of Health.
The Hawk, Plague Doctor, and God of Death show up in front of the last door. The door is covered with vines that wriggle and move like they are alive. Vert’s disappointment from not gaining 3 more semi powerful companions is quickly erased when he can feel an enormous amount of life on the other side of the room.
Vert looks at the other two and nods his head, signaling that there is something on the other side of this door for sure and that they should prepare themselves. Frederick pulls out his cane sword and Hawk prepares his wings, ready to fly at any point.
Vert decides to add a little pizzazz to this entrance since it will be his last in the dungeon and sends a kick flying into the door. The kick has a good amount of force behind it, causing the door to fly open.
The group's eyes are met with what seems to be an untamed jungle flourishing within the room. It is so unruly that the plants are so thick that the group can’t see more than 10 feet into the jungle.
Vert frowns at this sight and can feel himself start to feel slightly sick from the overload of life flooding his senses. Hawk decides this would be a good job for him and takes off towards the area above the canopy of the jungle. Sharing his sight with Vert, the two look around everywhere for some sort of life that isn’t a plant. Their eyes are met with a jungle that stretches for a few miles in length.
It isn’t too long before a long brown spike is shot at Hawk. He sees this coming and deftly dodges the oncoming projectile. Looking at where it was shot from, Hawk and Vert see a large plant covered in the long brown spikes.
Seeing that it has been found, the plant seems to not hold back for sneak attacks anymore. Hundreds of long brown spikes are shot into the air, all being aimed at Hawk. Luckily for Hawk, he is extremely fast and maneuverable in the air, easily dodging all of the spikes.
A laugh that sounds like a squeak comes from the body of the hawk, however that laugh is quickly cut off. Hundreds of the spike throwing plants appear from the jungle. Hawk’s eyes go wide when he sees the potential of thousands of spikes being thrown his way and quickly turns around. He dive bombs as quick as he can back to Vert but it is too late.
Thousands of spikes are thrown into the sky. There are so many that when they start getting close to Hawk, he is unable to see the ground below, the color brown filling his vision. An explosion is heard in the distance and right before the spikes shove themselves inside of Hawk’s body, Hawk is covered up by something strong and feels himself start falling.
Vert has himself wrapped around the bird and thousands of spikes are sent into his back, making Vert essentially become a pin cushion. Vert can’t fly, so the two fall from the sky like a rock into the middle of the jungle.
Frederick watches in horror from the distance as his Master jumps into the air to protect the hawk and is stabbed by thousands of thorns. Vert and Hawk fall from the sky directly into enemy territory.
“Master!” Frederick yells while sending out his green smoke, starting to kill his way into the forest to make sure Vert and Hawk are okay. Rats also pour out from Frederick's sleeves and start to scurry their way into the forest, looking for the two.
