Every region is self sufficient, most rely on nuclear energy and local resources to sustain themselves. Some are more primitive, as will be explained. Most of the cities exist purely for my pleasure, but some of them are created to fulfill specific experiments, which could aid my understanding of alien lifeforms and how they might evolve.

Nobody can leave their specific region, and outside contact is prohibited and impossible. They can't leave and they won't.
