This is the second species. They are a necessary risk. I need humanoids to program the robots and AI that controls my subjects, and they have to be intelligent. The homo liguritio perform this task. They are all male, and have little emotional capacity, except for intense fear and mild pleasure. They gain pleasure from performing the tasks I want them to, and they are naturally curious and interested in new things. They are also highly fearful, and are extremely risk averse. I made them tall so I can easily recognise them, they are all 1.80 meters tall, they have thick heads of hair which glow in the dark, and they produce a specific potent smell. All of them are male, although they cannot reproduce traditionally, and I severely lowered the amount of testosterone their body produces to more manageable amounts. They still enjoy competing and excelling, but not so much that it would endanger me. They are numerous, and they are the second largest group. Because if they are numerous, they are also expendable. This species existence is more threatening to my power, so they have to be numerous, to limit each individuals power. They are creative and intelligent, and capable of critical thinking and reasoning. They are very logical, and as such the systems to control them ensure that the best decision, the one they will take, is also always the one that I want them to take.
Besides programming AI I use their creativity to further our technology, to do research, and to create scenarios for me to enjoy.
Their indoctrination is different than that of homo pareo, they learn about greater mathematics, they learn my language, and they learn more complex terminology to discuss it all, which their brain power allows them to do successfully.
I have made them very socially anxious as well, and any interaction with other living beings causes them great stress, so they cooperate through indirect messaging systems between each other, through their brains. Most of them do not live in the societies of homo pareo, instead they reside in structures in space which orbit mostly earth or mars. As of yet none have ever rebelled against me, which gives me the great comfort of knowing that the safety measures work, but I am programmed not to remain content, and a healthy amount of paranoia keeps me from underestimating them. Occasionally I pick a random homo liguritio and torture them eternally in the worst ways possible, on display for the others, as a warning what would happen to them if they were to disobey me in anyway. I usually torture them for 200 years, resetting their memory so they never get used to the constant agony, and there is one specimen which I plan to torture eternally that they all learn about at a young age.
If they preform their duties as expected, I grant them the release of death after 200 years with a painless instant disintegration. They are unaware of this concept, so they do not fear death itself, they only fear pain and discomfort in that regard.
