The galactic police brought Ralph, Lenny, Glow and 58 into the bridge.
Glow just followed, and 58 flew around, but they kept pointing their guns at them.
As they entered, to Ralph it looked like a mixture of a submarine bridge mixed with a sci fi movie.
Robots and aliens and creatures and humans were at stations in their uniforms, as a huge window wrapped around all of them.
Outside, space.
With ships, large and small, flying across the galaxy. Firing at each other and dodging and playing chicken.
Lenny's mouth dropped. It was the greatest, most beautiful thing he had ever seen. Every sci fi story was before him.
Ralph was not impressed.
"Get off me."
The Captain turned around.
A half robot, half human figure.
Literally, half of his face was machine and robot like, and the other human flesh, which looked painfully graphed into the metal side. His cheeks were stretched and his teeth were sharp.
"So. These are the saboteurs?!" The Captain said, marching forward.
"My God. Look at this guy," Glow whispered.
58 chuckled, as landed on Lenny's shoulder.
"How did you get on this ship?!" The Captain yelled.
"We fell through a portal, Captain," Lenny offered.
"Lies! There is only one portal. And it just disappeared!"
"Where was it, sir?" Lenny asked.
The Captain pointed out towards space, where the ships were still fighting.
"We have the Republic countering, and the Faction of Death are beginning their suicidal runs, and the Roadies have now appeared and are trying to kill everyone, and then you four just appear?!"
"Yup," Ralph said sarcastically.
The Captain then punched Ralph in the stomach as hard as he could with a robotic fist.
Ralph collapsed and felt like he was going to die.
If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
"Cheap shot," Ralph said.
"They were armed," a police guard said, pulling Deerborne out.
The Captain looked at it.
"I shall execute you with your own weapon, you deck hand," The Captain snarled in dramatic fashion.
"Uh, sir?" One of the bridge mates ran forward.
"What?!"
"The portal!!!!"
Everyone turned to see a portal open across the battlefield.
Much like the portals seen before, but now, the size of what seemed to be a galaxy. It's blue and purple like hue kept spreading like a disease.
If it had teeth, it would've looked like the mouth of a monster.
The Captain's robotic mouth dropped.
"Sir. If we get close enough. I can close it," Lenny said.
The Captain turned.
"How?"
Lenny pulled his light switch out.
The Captain stared at it.
"This is fun," Glow said, laughing.
"Get us out of here, Glow!" Ralph said, trying to stand up. "We need to get back to where I was."
"Wolfram is here, Ralph," 58 tried explaining. "We have to find him. He's on this ship somewhere."
"How do you know?!" Ralph yelled.
"Because that is why we were dropped here, idiot," Glow said back. "I like using these new words."
Suddenly, one of the city sized spaceships got eaten by the portal.
It fell into the gaping hole and was split in half and then sucked away in a violent, swirling motion.
More warnings went off.
"We're being pulled towards it!" Another bridge mate yelled.
The ship jerked.
The Captain stared at Lenny.
"That switch. It will close it?"
Lenny nodded.
"How close?"
Lenny shrugged. He flipped it.
Nothing.
"Captain. You ordered no escape pods be jettisoned. One is being prepped now!" A robot ran over.
Ralph stood.
"Captain, a war criminal is on your ship. And I must kill him before he escapes. He is the reason that portal is open. My gun, please."
Ralph held his hand out.
The Captain looked at him.
"I think we should execute you."
"That is not what I thought he would say," 58 chirped.
Ralph took a swing at the Captain on his human side. The punch nearly ripped the skin right off.
The Captain hit the ground and Deerborne with him.
The security raised their guns.
Ralph grabbed Deerborne and raised it towards all.
"You want this to end? Where are the escape pods?!"
"This is exciting!" Glow laughed.
