ANNOUNCEMENT: HOW TO WRITE DUMB BOYS, A STRUGGLE WILL BE GOING ON HIATUS

Dear readers,

Thank you for following and supporting ‘How to write dumb boys, a struggle’!

I was able to post the first two books (43 chapters) and am now at the midpoint of the story. Unfortunately, stress and life have taken a toll on my mental health and it’s getting hard to write and update following the same schedule I promised.

This is my first novel. I know my readers may be a tiny group, but I appreciate each and every one of you. That’s why I felt the need to explain some things.

I won’t abandon this story. I already know the outcome and have an outline. It started as a passion project of mine, and I aim to tell it the way it deserves to be told.

My current problem is that I feel like I’m unable to love these characters and plot lines as I used to. My motivation to keep on writing unwaveringly has lost its momentum. That’s why I want to give myself and the novel the time it deserves to grow to its full potential. But for that, I have to take a step back first and work on it in private.

I’m still working on this project as much as I can but as things stand, it’d be unrealistic to say that going by my previous schedule is possible. Actually, I’ve already written most of the third book last year, but now I realise that the direction it went isn’t in line with what I want to express. Sure, I could edit and post that, but it wouldn’t be the right one. I’m currently revising and rewriting parts of it to reflect the ongoing dynamics and themes in a more realistic and fresh light. I don’t want the novel to suffer for it, so squeezing out chapters would only heighten my anxiety (and cause a decline in quality).

I apologise for any disappointment or frustration this hiatus may cause. I know that waiting sucks, but I want to work on this story with the initial passion it started with.

book_three: fluttering and book_four: flowering are steadily in the making. I’ll try posting small updates or sharing extra material whenever I can. In the meantime, if anyone has questions or comments, feel free to hit me up and I’ll answer them all. Also, I will definitely be here to engage in any discussion the novel or this announcement may spark.
