The mission was clear. Mercy Flowerpatch, Maximum Vile, and Lee Nova were instructed to eliminate a Novice level Fiend that was causing trouble for close allies of HellHelm. Team RuleBreakers were close, following its trail to an enlarged area of stone where miners would work at. Various ore that you would find underground were mysteriously on the surface on the stone all around.

“Hey Lee! How do you like the outside?” Mercy asked him. Lee started to blush and hesitated to speak at first.

“I-it’s a lot more green and less industrial but this particular area feels like home.” He answered.

“Yeahhhhh I see what you mean there.” Maximum blurted in. He was the scrawny nerd type and wasn’t too adept at fighting, but could be a fantastic strategist. Being older than Lee by a year he still weighed less and was shorter than Lee. He had brown eyes, light brown braids, and a dark skin tone.

“You guys are BORING this scenery is amazing not like our old Victorian village!” Mercy replied smiling and twirling around.

Lee continued to blush more.

Maximum pressed his glasses on his face and looked at Lee, they met eyes and he gave Lee a wide grin.

Lee eyes widened and he turned his head away quickly, now looking around at the many surface level ores that had formed and been mined already.

“Geddon would love this sight.” He thought to himself grinning.

Then he seen something small moving fast across the ground. He thought he was seeing things so he rubbed his eyes and started walking forward. He grabbed one of daggers he gotten from Lord Regina for his first mission.

The dagger had a silver blade with a dark grey handle.

Clearly seeing it now he seen a very small bear cub in a ball, just like the insects that curl into one.

“Um Captain…what is this?” Lee asked pointing to the creature.

Mercy and Maximum ran up to Lee and looked at the creature.

“This looks like what we’re looking for…but there’s no way it can be that small.” Mercy giggled still staring at it.

Maximum took out a notebook and drew what he seen, and adding in information.

That’s when one rolled over to Maximum’s foot and stopped.

“Hey there’s another one!” He yelled trying not to step on it.

Suddenly Lee grabbed his right arm. “Gah it feels like my arm is really heavy.” He said.

Mercy held his arm and looked at it, trying to see if he scraped it on anything. She suddenly stopped and looked around frantically.

“Wait Lee! This is the first step of P-“

A large Bear with the back of a Pill Bug came crashing down from the sky, almost squishing Maximum.

“HUHHHHH?!” He screamed as he seen the enlarged mutated creature land on the stone in front of him.

“THAT’S WHAT WE’RE HERE FOR BOYS!” Mercy yelled grabbing her golden spear. “Easy! Let’s get back home…QUEEN’S TRIDENT”!

Her weapon began to drip water on the stone from its blade until a small wave of water constructed on the tip of her spear.

The Fiend raised its claws and swiped at Maximum who moved to the side just in time.

“WHY IS IT SO HUGE?!” He yelled loudly.

“MAX, DUCK!” Mercy yelled as she hurled her spear through the air, hitting the Fiend. She turned around to see Lee frozen up in place. “Hey rookie you can join in whenever ya want to!” She gave Lee a smile and ran to fight.

Lee smiled back and ran behind her.

The Fiend screeched as the spear was stuck in its belly. He retreated and ran itself into a large stone, knocking out the spear.

“Tch tough bastard” Mercy said. “Maximum are you alright”?

“Yeah, yeah just only almost SQUISHED TO DEATH?!” He cried out.

Lee ran up to them and took another dagger out in his other hand. The tremendous weight that he felt was gone in his arm.

“I’m sorry Captain…I froze up.” He said staring at the Fiend that was slowly moving back towards them and snarling.

“Hmph” Mercy hummed.

Maximum took the short sword from his back holster and hoisted it up, shaking a little bit.

“I won’t let you get all the shine, Lee!” He said trying to sound cool.

The beast then started to run towards them.

All three of them were ready for a fight.

“Alright RuleBreakers, after this fight you two won’t be rookies anymore”!
