Heroes Of The Holy War

what-youre-missing

After hearing Aki's full story, the heroes decided to stay in the city for an extra day, mainly due to training the young fox and bear. "Still keen for training?" Akira asks with a suspicious smile on his face. "I am," Kaido quickly responds. "And why are you smiling so strangely?" Kaen asks. "You don't need to know," Akira replies, taking something from his backpack. "Come on. To start training, we need to go to a certain place," says Akira, fastening his belt. When Akira and the kids leave the house, Gamble says to Aki, "You can go now," but Aki, staring into space, didn't hear him the first time, which forced Gamble to repeat himself. "Huh? Oh, right..." he says, taking his dagger. "You want to ask something but aren't sure if it's appropriate," Gamble says confidently with a serious expression. Surprised, Aki looks at Gamble and asks, "How do you even know that?" Gamble immediately replies, "Because that idiot who went to train the kids does the same thing when he wants something." Aki, blushing, asks, "Can- can I join you guys?..." When she finishes speaking, she looks at the disappointed Gamble and exclaims, "ONLY TO THE HALF-PEOPLE'S TERRITORY!" Gamble holds his head and asks, "Just that much?" Aki nods. "I thought you wanted to ask Akira out on a date," he says, laughing, while Aki blushes even more. Meanwhile, Akira and the kids reach a lake right next to the town. "It's so beautiful here," says Kaen. "Yeah, so peaceful," adds Kaido. Akira adds, "An ideal place for meditation." Kaen and Kaido seem not to know what meditation is, so Akira asks Kaen to explain to them what meditation is. Akira takes out his sword and sticks it into the ground, hanging his upper clothes along with the belt on it and entering the water. When he reaches a spot where he wets his ankles, he clasps his hands and stands still with closed eyes. Kaen asks Kaido, "Should we do something or just watch?" "Don't ask me," Kaido replies. After a while, the water around Akira starts swirling and surrounding him more and more upwards. Kaido notices something, "Kaen, look. There's no water under Mr. Akira's feet, just land," says Kaido. Suddenly, the water slowly recedes, and Akira approaches Kaen and Kaido, saying, "Your turn." Kaen asks, "What exactly are we supposed to do?" Akira replies, "You have to release enough mana so that the water doesn't touch you and creates a vortex like I did. It's a training in controlling your own mana because mana shouldn't be completely calm nor too turbulent. I hope you understand; good luck!" Akira walks towards the town, leaving Kaen and Kaido who try to repeat what Akira did, but they didn't even lift a drop of water. "Maybe a break?" Kaido suggests. "Good idea," Kaen agrees. As they lay on the grass near Akira's sword, after 5 minutes, Kaen asks Kaido, "Do you have any idea how to do this?" to which Kaido replies, "No... doing what Akira did, I almost fell asleep." Kaen and Kaido lie in silence for a while, and then Kaen says, interrupting the silence, "Akira took his clothes but not the sword." Kaen gets up and looks at the crystal on the hilt of the sword. He sees a girl being attacked by other people. Terrified, Kaen falls to the ground, "What happened?" "Does this sword predict the future or something?" Kaen replies. Surprised, Kaido approaches the sword and looks at the same place as Kaen but sees nothing but his reflection. "Are you sure you're not mistaken?" Kaido asks. Kaen gets up and looks at the crystal again, but this time, he sees a figure that speaks to him, "Go straight and slightly to the right near the rotten tree." Kaen repeats this and tells Kaido, "Go straight and slightly to the right near the rotten tree... Let's go." "Wait, Kaen," she says, grabbing his hand, "what if Akira comes back and we're not here?" Kaen responds, "And what if someone really needs help? I won't have anyone on my conscience." Kaen breaks free and runs according to the instructions, "straight and slightly to the right near the rotten tree." Near the rotten tree, he hears the girl screaming for help. Kaen accelerates, and when he arrives, he sees an elf with torn clothes and a group of people with the golden wolf on their backs. "Oh, look, another half-human. Let's take him; an extra coin won't hurt," two of the group dive on Kaen, and he stumbles over the tree roots, falling on his back. Kaido saves him by sending one of the two attackers crashing into the rotten tree with one blow. Kaen gets up and says, "So you came after all?" "Now quietly and think about how we're going to get out of this situation," the conversation is interrupted by a bandit who attacked Kaen from behind. He grabs him and throws him towards the boss. "You shouldn't play the hero like that; we wouldn't have done anything to your friend," he looks towards the girl, and there lies the knocked-out bandit. "How did you knock him out? With those skinny arms? A wolf? Maybe a monkey?" "Bear," Kaido replies. Â"Ah, I've never seen a difference," the boss replies, then realizes that the fox that was under him is gone. He looks back to command the rest to do something, but they're also knocked out. Already annoyed, the gang boss looks towards the girl, and there Kaen is with the elf in his arms, "You don't know that you shouldn't take your eyes off a fox, pal," the irritated man grabs his sword and charges towards the kids. "Damn," says Kaen. The kids have no way to escape, but at that moment, a shield appears in front of the boss's feet, and as soon as he stops in front of the kids, Gamble appears, saying loudly, "He's yours." After the boss, Aki appears. "It's not cool to be taken by surprise, huh?... Ricardo?" to which Ricardo replies with horror, "It's not fair, there are more of you." Kaen interrupts the conversation, "Your lackeys wouldn't have done anything if we hadn't beaten them," he says proudly and satisfied with himself. After that, Akira comes out of the bushes ready to die, saying, "Move away, you're finished." Everyone is terrified, even Gamble yells, "What are you doing, Akira?" but he doesn't answer anything, just walks towards the house. "I'm sorry Aki, that was supposed to be your job... Aki." Aki looks at Akira with a smile. When everyone gets home, Akira makes dinner, welcoming everyone, saying, "Welcome, tonight for dinner, fried rice with phoenix meat!" "Phoenix meat? Do they have it here?" Gamble asks surprised, and Kaido asks, "What's a phoenix?" Kaen replies, "A chicken breed that is the descendant of a phoenix." Kaido is impressed, "Didn't we already tell you that?" Gamble asks, and Kaido replies, "I don't know." Kaen puts the elf girl on his bed and asks Gamble, "What do we do with her?" Gamble replies while pouring himself some tea, "We'll see when she wakes up, what she wants... oh, and tonight, sleep with Kaido because there aren't enough beds, and Akira sleeps on the floor." Akira replies, "I have a hammock, don't worry." When they are preparing for dinner, Aki asks Gamble once again, "Can I join you?" Gamble, drinking tea, points at Akira without saying a word. Aki understood that she had to ask Akira, and she immediately did. "Can I join you?" she asks Akira. Akira looks at Gamble and answers, "Welcome to the team." When everyone finished eating and went to sleep, Kaen couldn't sleep. When he closed his eyes, he found himself in the same place again. This time, in front of him is a woman who says, "Take care of her, and she will give you what you lack."
