doll-without-a-brain

GGame thinks to himself, "That's why the flames couldn't burn the building, only slightly scorch the paper blankets, etc." Akira, putting on his scarf, says, "Ready to go." "Alright, I'll just call Roger to watch over the house, and we can go," says Gamble, leaving the house. (For clarification, Roger is Gamble's acquaintance who helped him buy the house he currently lives in.) When they reached the city, they headed to the "burned" building from which they rescued Kaido. When they approached the spot where they handed Kaido over to her father, Gamble uttered the words, "As the source of your light, please bend the laws of nature and reveal the location of my target, ReLight." Suddenly, footprints appeared on the ground. "Let's go, we don't have much time," Gamble calmly says. "Yes, not much time to breathe," Akira replies jokingly. To which Gamble immediately responds firmly, "No killing. We intimidate and scare." "Blah, blah, blah, let's go; you talk too much," Akira says, following the footprints. Gamble looks at Akira with slight annoyance but sighs and runs after the magical traces. When they reach the end of the tracks, they find a well-maintained house with lights still on. Gamble whispers to Akira, "Now we communicate silently; on my signal, you'll enter by breaking through the roof." Akira responds, "Aye aye, Captain," saluting playfully. Akira goes towards the entrance of a nearby tavern, blending into the crowd, while Gamble sneaks into the building. Gamble looks around and sees a half-wolf man tormenting a half-bear woman. As he approaches a bit closer, he notices the bodies of a small child and a man who are likely dead, showing many stab and slash wounds. Without wasting time, Gamble signals Akira with light, but Akira doesn't notice as the light is too weak. Gamble repeats the signal with greater force, catching the attention of a scared woman who alerts the half-wolf, who immediately moves towards Gamble with a knife. Gamble quickly makes a hand gesture, creating a blinding light and shielding his eyes. This time, Akira notices the signal, puts down his drink, and steps outside the tavern. Kneeling, he utters the words, "As the master of your winds, I beg you to lend me power and allow me to connect with the wind - Air Bind." Akira jumps high in the air, and as he begins to descend, he straightens his right leg, still enhanced from the jump, preparing to pierce through the roof. When the blinding light subsides, the man falls to the ground, shouting, "YOU DAMNED SCUM, I'LL KILL YOU, HEAR ME?!" Gamble, without wasting time, asks the woman if those next to her are alive, to which she tearfully replies, "No." After confirming that Gamble has no intention to harm her, she continues, "Husband, son, and even a daughter..." Gamble looks at the woman and realizes she resembles Kaido. The woman, unable to hold back her tears, continues, "He threw her into a wolf-infested meadow near the village." Gamble, shocked, asks, "Does your daughter's name happen to be Kaido?" The tearful woman asks, "H-... How do you know?" "I and my friend saved her from wolves before coming here," Gamble replies seriously. The woman, now openly crying, whispers, "What luck," and then faints. Concerned, Gamble tries to wake her up but loses consciousness himself. He notices Akira in the doorway yelling, "Gamble?, GAMBLE! DON'T PASS OUT ON ME!" Gamble wakes up in the hospital. Next to him lies Kaido's mother. Looking out the window, it's night. Gamble looks at himself and thinks, "What happened to me?" and whispers to himself, "Use the light within me - use my power to...," but halfway through, he coughs up blood. Gamble goes to the bathroom without any problems, takes some paper, and wipes the blood from his mouth and washes his hands. Returning, he notices where the half-wolf is lying and mutters to himself, "At least he won't torture them now." When he comes back, he sees Kaido's mother sitting as if waiting for him. Upon noticing him, she says, "Can we talk?" Gamble nods, and they move to the window. "But what is your name?" Gamble asks. "I'm Giene," the woman replies. "Alright, Giene, what do you want to talk about?" Gamble sighs. Giene sighs and bows low. Slightly horrified, Gamble asks her to stand up. Giene sighs again and says calmly, "I have to tell you something about Kaido. Kaido is my daughter which has a rare ability that is now worth a million gold in the kingdom. This ability is unique to half-people, allowing her to track a target after touching their hair, bones, or skin, provided that a piece of hair, for example, is cut within the last 48 hours, and the rest is similarly preserved. Of course, this technique can be countered, but it requires both light and dark magic." Gamble, surprised, asks, "Why are you telling me this?" Giene, with a serious gaze and calmness, says, "I beg you to train my daughter." "Hero of the Holy Shield..." Gamble, truly surprised, stammers. Suddenly, Gamble closes his eyes and sees the daughter of the king. Panicking and getting angry, he tries to hit her, realizing he's tied under a large blade, as on the day of his exile. The difference is that there are no guards, only the king, his daughter laughing, and the heroes looking at him with disgust. Suddenly, he wakes up with tears in his eyes, realizing he's in his own house. When Gamble wakes up in his house, and next to him sleeps Kaido, Gamble, trying to understand what happened, goes to the living room where Akira is sleeping at the table and... a bear? Terrified, Gamble shouts, "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON, a dream?... no... maybe I'm dead." Suddenly, Kaido approaches him and sleepily asks, "What happened?" Terrified, Gamble grabs the girl by the shoulders and asks if it's a dream. "Are you still asleep?" she asks, surprised. The conversation is interrupted by Akira.
