'So, what's the plan? How are we going to do this?' Brimming with drive, I asked the mighty being.
"...Before that. This one will show and seal the fragment of the world's fate unto your soul, child."
'Meaning?'
Right at that moment, something inexplicable happened.
It felt like they sent me inside a movie that would last for eternity, yet over before I could gather my thoughts. It was already done, sure...But the damage it did to me mentally was far from over.
Do you know what it feels like when your brain gets stuffed with information in one go? It's like having your head stitched up while you're riding a freaking rollercoaster.
It was something I would never ever want to go through again.
"It is necessary, and that will be the last." As if answering my plea, god spoke.
I cautiously peeked at god once again after I gathered my breathing. '...Okay.'
"Rest assured, child. This one does not speak of lies." A warm reply. "You are curious about what you saw, isn't that so?"
'Yes. Though it feels so lucid even now, I can't seem to remember most of them.'
"That is because of the seal. Worry not; in time, you'll remember them eventually."
'Hm...okay. It is what it is, I guess. So, what now?'
"You have to decide the blessings from which This one will bestow upon you."
'My power? Can I really ask for anything?'
"You can. As long as the balance is met."
'Right...I know this won't work, but just in case...Can I ask for a power enough to destroy the world...?'
"You can. But the price that comes with it is the destruction of your soul."
'Really? I mean, a whole world with billions of people is equal to one soul? Isn't the balance kinda crooked?'
"This one's divinity along with the fragment of the world's fate are enough to make up for the rest."
'Ah, that's why...Basically, how this works is I get to ask for any blessings I want. But that will come at a price. Okay, how about immortality?'
"Something that exists beyond the cycle of life and death cannot be born inside the cycle."
'Makes sense. You are going to reincarnate me after all...'
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
Scratching my illusory cheeks, I kept coming up with question after question. It was better to be overprepared than nothing at all.
'How about a super strong body with flying abilities? Like the Superman!'
"What price do you want to compensate for such a blessing?" Replied the god.
'I can decide those too? Oh, I get it. Since I kept asking for something ridiculous, the price was always my life. But now that the stake was not that high, I can have more leeway is that it?'
"Yes, child."
'Phew...This really will take a lot of time...Um, can you give me some advice, god?' I peered carefully.
"This one is prohibited from doing so by the Great Law."
'What's the...Nah, I think I won't get it even if you tell me anyway.'
"Precisely. At most, you can hear of It's existence from This one, but not It's name."
'Hear the existence but not the name...Yeah, okay...Moving on.'
So I started contemplating what blessings would help me in saving the world fated to perish. Fortunately, I have a general picture of the world and what to expect out of it from the information god stitched to my brain...erm, soul.
And to sum it up perfectly, I needed blessings that would aid my journey inside the fantasy world nestled with superhumans with magic and ferocious monsters alike. Also, safety would take precedence as I build up my strength and some other things along the line. In the end, to save the world from the terror, which I've seen and could feel even now, I need power. Real power...
Warm-hearted scenarios like everyone banding their power together to vanquish evil were nice and all. But it wouldn't be enough.
Be as it may, I didn't mean having people on my side would be useless entirely.
Nah, I was not so arrogant enough to shoot myself in the foot like that. I knew my limit. And there was only so much this simple and flawed brain of mine could do.
I needed talented people...But I still need the power, first and foremost.
That was the whole point of why god needed me, after all.
It would be up to me at the very end...

And so, after throwing thousands of ideas back and forth, I finally found what I wanted.
"I see you've made up your mind." His call reverberated gently across the holy throne.
'Yes, I have.' I replied resolutely. 'You know what the powers I want and also the prices I think of. Are they equal?'
God didn't answer my question. Instead, the veil of fog that prevented me from seeing their holy countenance faded into nothingness.
It was a face I think I wouldn't be able to forget. And yet, despite believing so, I still couldn't make do with what I was seeing. Truly a bizarre and profound experience, I must say.
"Kneel and say the words." It was but a simple command.
Strangely enough, I intuitively knew what I must do.
As I kneeled and put my hands together, I could feel the connection born between god and me. And I opened my mouth at the behest of the holy light that shone between us.
"I will lose my ability to walk until the world proclaims me as an adult, and in return, I shall ask for a blessing that will warn me whenever danger creeps close upon my life."
A blessing to keep me safe.
"I will lose my five senses, with each of them restored every three years, and in return, I shall ask for a blessing to use Word Magic."
The blessing to turn my command into reality.
"So it shall be." Said god as the lights dimmed out. And without warning, I felt a pull from behind.
"I, [@%#$], bless unto thee My Mark and Light...May fate shine kind upon your feet...My child."
And with that, everything turned dark.
