Chapter 112 : Today Will Be A Good Day.

It was a good morning. I woke up energized and with a stubborn smile hanging on my lips.

The air tasted fresh and free. The roses smell good, and my light breakfast was delightful in all sense.

All things considered, it was a beautiful day.

From satisfying the superficial need of my stomach, I would then rehearse the dance routine with Madam Liora, my Etiquette teacher.

She applauded, full of praise and awe at my performance, as usual, nothing new.

Nonetheless, we would engage in a bout of pleasantries before I would have to excuse myself, resting my feet in a bath with a pinch of salt while the lasting aroma of the honeysuckle smothered my nose.

Yes. It was a great day. Nothing could ruin it...

Not even the usual tedious process of wolfing down yet another portion of lunch before slipping myself into the torturous armor that all women wore: the corset.

Yes. Not even the great corset could hope to ruin this day, which I, Giselle Green Heliard, deemed to be delightful.

And as the cloak of the night came ever so nigh, my heart began to race in pure rapture.

Dressed in a bright yellow dress resembling a sunflower's spirit and purity, I would be the center of attention no matter where I went. Whenever I moved, my hair would flutter in accordance, flowing gently yet firmly as though weaved by the fairies of the forest.

Mother said, with my beauty, I could captivate every male in this kingdom should I wish so. And my Father also concurred with that very notion.

Beautiful was I...Everyone said so...The whole world believed so.

Such was my tool. My weapon...Unlike a certain someone who might be able to reach a similar standard of beauty such as mine without any inkling whatsoever to use them, I knew perfectly well how to wield this weapon.

I knew how to seize someone's heart with my tongue, how my eyes should move when talking to someone, and how soft my tone should be when I laugh. It all came naturally to me, and it was as easy as breathing.

At some point, I began to realize the satisfaction I felt whenever I saw someone burn red with their delusions while I played them like a fiddle.

You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version.

And today, it would happen yet again. I would make sure to play that boy to death, dancing his sorry days inside my palm until I got bored of him.

Granted, his stupidity caught me off guard once, resulting in failure due to my incapability to understand the scope of his idiocy.

Nevertheless, I would succeed today for sure...

Father had confirmed that the engagement between the pig and the barbarian princess would cease to exist from today onward.

Not that it mattered in the first place. Even if he was head over heels for that shrimp of a princess, could he hold his own for long if I truly put my mind to snatch him? Not in a million chances.

Just the idea alone that the foul-mouthed princess would somehow be able to contest her femininity with me was outrageous.

And I could never understand how someone like her could take a fancy to something that looked like him. Mother said that someone like her simply had a...what's the word again...

Ah yes...A deranged interest or taste, if I remember correctly.

Anyhow, it was true that the princess seemed to harbor her sweet affection toward the heir of Dawson. And today, I would claim my long-sought victory over the helpless pig once and for all. And as a bonus, I would get the chance to see that princess's face crumbling down as I stole her beloved away.

Hence, tonight would be a fantastic night! I just knew it. Along the way inside the carriage, I found my heart drumming rapidly and endlessly just by imagining what the future would hold.

The feeling was intoxicating, but I couldn't surrender myself to it.

I had to restrain myself dearly if I wanted to claim my prize, and the night was still long.

"You look absolutely gorgeous, lady Green!"

"Your beauty is blinding me, my lady!"

"May I offer you a company and the tale of my recent endeavor in the west border, lady Green?"

"Lady Green. You must have a dance with me!"

Yes. This.

This was how it should be.

Mindless, overconfident, and hopelessly hopeful people, trying to do everything they could to make themselves be noticed.

This was how people acted around me, which should have been the same case with that pig!

But no worries...I knew not everything in this world would always go the way I wanted to.

It baffled me to no end how it happened, but still, I understand...

I needed to fix my breathing. Take the hatred away and keep them buried.

Put on a smile and radiate nothing but love.

"The Duke of Dawson has arrived!!

Yes.

Come now, Alexander Von Dawson.

"Ah~ Today will be a good day..."

For I, Giselle Green Heliard, was waiting for you...
