It was midnight, although Mary had already put up the closed sign on the cafe's front door, there were still a few senior party members chatting inside the cafe.
Teasel carefully placed the cleaned china cups into the drawer below the counter, but he stopped his motions when a senior party member asked for a final drink from Mary.
As Mary went over and poured coffee into two cups, Teasel grabbed her wrist, "I thought he only ordered one drink."
"Yeah," Mary turned a side of her face to Teasel while the other side hid in shadow, "do you have a problem?"
"There are two cups?!" Teasel whispered violently.
"What do you mean by two?" Mary grinned, suddenly there was only one cup, Teasel stared at her empty hand speechlessly.
"Fine," Mary's voice smoothened, "I think you have already figured it out."
"You are not a human..."
"Choose one," the cup reappeared in Mary's palm. Teasel looked down at the brown liquid inside it, for an instant, he could see it, a small skull figure appeared from the white milk foam.
Teasel glanced at the party member who didn't pay any attention to him, that fat pig, he thought. Willingly, he picked one, "I'm no longer god's children."
"You are never one, and god is not anything that's physically real," one of the cups disappeared, Mary quickly stepped pass Teasel and served the liquid to the member who eyed Mary greedy. The man wanted to say a few more words to Mary, but like a bolt of lightning, Mary put down the cup and hopped away. Nervously, Teasel anticipated as the man gulped down his drink.
Nothing happened.
Teasel sighed and went back to clean cups and dishes.

Time flew like a bullet, Teasel sat down heavily as Mary came to him with a pile of paper.
"I need to sign papers?" Teasel asked ironically.
"Yep," Mary dumped the terms and conditions on the table with a slam, "if you want to get employed formally, we need your consent and make sure that you know all the rules."
"Really?"
"Really."
Teasel shut his mouth, he tidied his medium length dark hair with his boney fingers, while Mary turned her face to Jelly, signally her to go hide in the 'storage' room.
This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.
Teasel laid his hands on the table, spreading out his fingers, "I'm not a reader, but I just want to make sure one thing."
Mary grinned, "It's with the policy."
"You can read my mind?"
Mary reached into her chest pocket and took out a small beetle-like device with a smooth black surface, "The Reader 5(trade mark)."
"Where's the pen?"
Mary's grin widened into a smile, and Teasel finally managed to see her blade like fans, "it'll be signed when you are ready."

"Did he join?" Jelly reentered the room, along with the vampire youngster.
"Let's welcome Teasel Tinman!" Mary threw a spherical object into the air which floated and shot out different coloured rays at different directions.
"YES!!!"
"Teasel," Mary pulled Jelly and Jessie towards her, "this is Jelly Mushy and Jessie Tumour, my classmates, we'll be showing you around Hell."
Teasel looked down, he couldn't believe what just happened, but he knew he had made the step.
He was no longer god's children.

Professor Rice waited impatiently in his room, he had finished the fiftieth lap around his long desk. What should he ask first? There were just so many questions he wanted to ask a human. Should he ask stuff about science or technology first, since those relate the most to his career and research? No, he thought, the humans lacked any major technology breakthrough, aside from the robot on the island. Fine, maybe after all, he was more interested in human politics and history.
A buzz sound entered the sound sensor on the body of the professor, they are back!
"...yea, you are gonna see professor Rice, his kinda scary, but he is a nice guy..."
Teasel stepped out of the portal, as the half cyborg stretched out his long robotic arm to shake his hands.
"Welcome to Hell..." at the moment before the human's hand made contact with the professor hand, Teasel's eyeballs flipped up and his eyes turned milky white, slowly, he dropped to his knees and collapsed onto the floor.
The devils froze in their positions, no one had expected such a thing to happen, a few seconds later, professor Rice extended his arm and reached to the human boy.
"Told you that you are too scary..."
"HE IS DEAD!" the professor screamed at Mary, he furiously stabbed his arm onto the floor, creating sparks.
Jelly bent down and took out a sensor with her, "he was poisoned..."
The professor slowly picked up the soulless body of Teasel, "What a waste."
"I forgot," Mary shouted while shaking her head violently, "I should have remembered to give him a gas mask before entering to Hell!"
Jessie walked up to Mary and patted on her back, "There are plenty of humans out there, we'll just need to learn from this one. "
"Wait."
Everyone looked at Mary, who marched over to the dead body in the professor's arms, "Sir, do you think you have a brain scanner?"
"You are right Mary," Jelly realised Mary's intention, "professor, do you remember showing us that medical scanner from 23rd Century, the one that can transfer brain structure into electric model?"
The professor smiled bitterly, "I know what you mean, but the problem is: we need a petabyte quantum brain to store all these information after conversion."
"Why can we just borrow a school robot?" Mary asked.
"No," professor Rice replied firmly, "firstly, those robots are not my property. Secondly, it will create a huge social distribute if we do it. Thirdly, the school robot only has a terabyte size brain, which is not enough to fit in the electric information of a biological brain, only military grade robots have such complicated brains."
The devils went back into silence, their eyes or sensors all fixed upon the dead body of the human.
"Sir?" Jessie broke the silence suddenly.
"What Jessie?"
"I'm not sure... but is that thing functional?" Jessie pointed up, and all the devils lifted their heads up in amazement.
